They cap a 28 WW and 7 Bonecraft. I skilled up both skills with these when I was 24 WW. I also made serious gil off of these during the time of the Great Inflation when they were selling 50k apiece. Materials total cost on Shiva is 200k though, but if you can synth 12 of these without breaking you will get it all your gil back plus more. However, the HQ's don't sell often and sometimes sell for less than the non HQ because the HQ can't be used in the mog safe upgrade quest. Only low level rangers seem to want the HQ one while everyone and their mule buy the non HQ one.

i synthed a couple of these goin out on a limb as lvl 20 woodworking and 4 bonecraft. I have gotten good skillups from it, and im about 7/10 pass rate. I also used imagery support and faced south in my certain spot... i dunno its just a thing lol

I checked this damn thing on Diabolos cause I need to get it for MH expansion, like most of you looking at this. The regular version is 30k. When I did it like a year ago on my first character I bought it for 17k. Meh, I'm gonna raise bonecraft up to like 5 or so and try this.

Hey guys is there anybody here from the Asura server that would make me the bow for the quest, for the cost of materials? I know you wanna make a profit but help a guy out. I have woodworking at 29 and started to synth these with bonecraft at lvl 6. I am 6/10 on the synths with bonecrafts skillups in the process.
Currently going for 20k on Bahamut. Materials cost between 8-12k depending on cloth prices for the day.
Either way you will still end up with a profit if you decide to synth these.

this is due to the Quest! You need obtain power bow and a beetle ring, and give it to your moogle to get more space in you moogle house...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the Power Bow +1 for the moogle quest, because the +1 on Alexander is going for 10k, while the non +1 is 30k... That's really crazy because now if you craft these you hope not to HQ, but then again, there's 18 normal Power Bows in stock so it might take a while to sell.

I agree, on Quetzy server there were none on Sandy AH as of this morning, materials go for 12K and they sell for 20K. 8k profit during skill up is great

Yeah, no one should try this. If you can't buy the bow for 17k, you sure aren't going to get Woodworking to 28 with that. Hell, unless you farmed most of your materials, you'd be lucky to get to 8 in bonecraft with that much.

wonder if the +1 could be used in the MH expansion though. i don't wanna waste 30k then find out that it can't be, but then again, i'm kinda poor right now after lvling NIN and RNG recently so i can't even afford it ^^;

I have seen a powerbow drop before in beudeux. I had a guy help me kill the 20 quads for that mission. I remember it dropping and him asking me to pass it. Has anyone else seen this?

What are the minimum levels needed to craft this in both Woodworking and Bonecraft? I see the caps are 28 & 8, but I'ld like to try to make this, but didn't want to waste the materials until I was close in level. Also, which advanced synth support would be better, bone or wood?
I don't hunt NMs for the gil, I hunt them for their cool stuff.

thats funny b/c on Valefor the +1 version goes for approximately 6k less than the regular version =P

I cant think of any other item that mimics this anomaly, and the reason is that Power Bow +1 cannot be used for the "give moogle a break" quest for mog house expansion (i think.. plannin on testing it tonight)

best bow til 30?? maybe you could argue that the +1 is the best bow til 30. which it is for non-RNGs. for RNGs you can get the Hunter's Longbow which is pretty much equivalent to a Power Bow +1 except that you can use it 4 levels earlier.

Just a thought: why don't high lvl crafters not sell their skills? It could still be less expensive than buying things like that on AH:
Someone gets the items, brings them to the crafter (for example to the appropriate guild), gives him some money (say like 100 to 500) for his work and takes the risk of items being lost if the attempt fails. I mean not just for the power bow but in general.
For the power bow that would look like this:
Coeurl whisker: 500 gil
elm lumber x2: can be found (as elm logs)
wool cloth: don't know the price but it's far below 10k
scorpion claw 500 gil
wind crystal: not much
That would be much less expensive, a high level crafter would get some easy money and we could get our power bows. :-)

Elm Lumber-ok u may need to spend some money and time finding hachects and harvesting points but it will cost u half the gold

Farming/camping/harvesting does not make the product cheaper to make. You still have to count the gil that you lose by not selling the raw materials on the AH. Buying the parts or farming them is a trade-off. You either spend the time gathering the parts (and forego the money gained from selling on AH) or you spend the gil (and save the time it would have taken to gather the parts). Either way you are down 10-12k gil.
For myself, there is no way that a lvl 20thf/10mnk is going to farm coeurl whiskers, as the lowest level coeurl is lvl 30. Granted, the whiskers only sell for about 300gil each, but the point is that farming is not always an option.

Ok I'm really confused now. There are those saying that you need 28 Woodworking/8 bonecrafting and then there are others that say you need 26 in both skills... which is it?

First off, yes, this bow is hard to make b/c: 1) it requires lvl30 (to ensure that you won't fail) in both Bone and Wood. 2) It requires several materials, 2 of which are expensive.
These are the costs (on Asura AH's, paying guild prices is quite higher):
2x Elm Lumber = 4000 gil
1x Wool Cloth = 5000
1x Scorpion Claw = 500
1x Coeurl Whisker = 500
So that's 10k, plus the crystal. So getting 12-14k for the bow is not making too much profit, we're not ripping you off. Also, that profit doesn't come close to covering the cost of a failure. That said, ~15k for 10 additional slots is worth it, IMHO.
