Food Effects

  • HP +15
  • DEX +3
  • VIT +3
  • CHR +3
  • Attack* +50
  • Defense* +30
  • Double Attack* +1

    • These effects will be multiplied if two or more of the listed items are equipped. For example, if the Myochin Kote and Nobushi Kyahan were equipped, the food would give +100 Attack and +60 Defense rather than +50 and +30 (respectively).

I bought two stacks of these for 10k per stack on Fenrir.

It was a mistake, but since these do wonders with sam AF gloves, i'll save them.

I just hit lvl 56 today and had a stack of these in my inv ready to test it out! Amazing! I had about 290 attk when I ate this without buffs, I took gloves off dropped to about 240. I put gloves back on and hiked back up. With bard buffs + Berserk I was at 401 attack!

If this is the kind of results I got off these, I would love to see what a shogun riceball would do. Getting some LS mates to try and HQ it for me in a few days. But I still hear alot of debate that I should go o.kote over this. Well it's all an opinion but I think this works best.

Shogun will give you the same stats, the only difference is that this gives "Double Attack" +1 (or +2? I forget) With Shogun you'll receive "Double Attack" +5

shogun is still nice, it's a bit overpriced on my server though ; ;

I just hit 56 with my SAM and want to try out my new toy(Myochin Kote). I cant seem to find any of these in AH and say posts saying I can buy in Tenshodo(even think I've seen them for sale there). I've talked with everyone in that place and dont seem to see them being sold. Please, if anyone knows the NPC selling these mugs, let me know. Thnx

Use or no?
# Apr 10 2005 at 2:24 AM Rating: Decent
As a 53 Samurai without the AF Gloves, should you use the rice balls or stick to Meat Mithkabobs/Sole Sushi? What about when I do get the AF Gloves as well?

If you dont have the gloves stick to meat kabobs/sole sushi. And i you do have the gloves use riceballs effectively. Example: if you have no problem hitting the mob at all then use riceballs, but if you need all the acc. you can get use sole sushi.

expensive?
# Mar 25 2005 at 1:51 PM Rating: Default
How are these SO expensive?
Just do the Yagudo quest repeatedly for Norg fame and they are sold for about 550 gil or so. in lower jeuno, @ Tenshodo

These sell for 4500/stack at the Jeuno AH and NPC for 4320/stack (360 each). Add AH tax in jeuno and you actually lose more money selling at AH.

NPC these, Quetz cooks. Sorry, Quetz SAMs.

with sam af and the roshi jinpachi the effects double, basically giving you Attack+90 def+64 (although the roshi jinpachi has no defense, so the extra def basically compensates for the jinpachi) and double attack+2%... 16% if you use shogun.
Yay, profit to 94!
# Nov 07 2004 at 11:35 AM Rating: Decent
Some of my cooking mates are reluctant to go past 85 because they think it does not profit. I calculate that it does as long as you make your own ingredients. Here's my running total, according to my own server economy:

EMPEROR ROE
12000 (3 Emperor Fish)
+ 300 (3 Lightning Crystal)
=12300 (12 Emperor Roe)

FLINT CAVIAR
12300 (12 Emperor Roe)
3400 (12 Dark Crystals)
+ 300 (12 Rock Salt)
=16000 total(36 Flint Caviar)

TONOSAMA RICE BALL
16000 (36 Flint Caviar)
7200 (36 Fire Crystals)
900 (36 Rock Salt)
400 (36 Distilled Water)
1200 (36 Tarutaru Rice)
+ 1600 (36 Pamtam Kelp)
=27300 (72 Tonosama Rice Ball)

6 stacks of rice balls x ~8k/stack = 48k.
48k - 27k = 21k per batch.
Have fun!

I posted this before that retarded patch. But since tarutaru rice is nowhere to be found, tonosamas are also more expensive; if you garden your own rice, you can make even more money now.
Tarutaru Rice
# Mar 29 2005 at 7:53 PM Rating: Decent
Tarutaru rice: Can be found in Windurst Water (E-8) Kopopo.
Garden: Porc/Brass:Grain seed + Fire Crystal. Yields about 11.

Edit: I also use Dark crystals, Yields: Coral fungus, light crystals and Tarutaru rice.

Nope, anything that's cheap at a guild and valuable at the AH will be bought out by shop bots before anyone else can get to it.

# Aug 05 2004 at 5:32 PM Rating: Decent
I was told it gives +33% to attack
RE: ATK
# Sep 08 2004 at 6:18 PM Rating: Decent
they dont give 33% attack, or any percent increase, its s set number increase
it will nly give this effect with either the samurai AF gloves, or the crown that changes food effects, they give +45 attack, and +32 def, with a 1% double attack rate increase
