If every 2-8 was compared to a fist, u could easily kill a IT, lol ^^, I'm a MNK myself, and i once did my 2hr with a staff... Unbelievable funny!
hmm, I'm not sure if you can still use your 2hours when you equip another weapon..probably. My friend told me he once saw someone using his Hundred Fists with an axe, looked pretty cool. Do you think the 2-8 hits would trigger..or would have have 'time' to trigger?
It works. I saw a video of going Hundred Fists with a staff a few months back. Somewhere in the depths of ffxi.killingifrit.com now. Don't feel like searching for it.
I think the reference is to the NM in Delkfutt's Tower, Mimas It wields a Geat Axe and uses 'Hundred Fists' Looks funny as hell too. Since the axe blade alone is about the size of your average Galkan, and it's swinging around like mad.
ahem i am an elvaan whm and i outcure almost any whm i see. sure my mp aint the greatest but my MND is 30 + 16 and if i wanted i could make that +20. i constantly Cure for 30+ and 90+ with Cure I and II
They have the A+ rating in club. Not for damage, but a PLD using kraken club+double attack could probably spam MOONLIGHT WS, which replenishes MP, meaning more spells, less downtime, and since he could attack so many times, he could probably hold hate.
that's a totally awesome idea. when i read about the moonlight ws, i wondered why PLD don't use clubs all the time, doing it with this club would be even better.
you might think NA players would never get this b/c JP camp the lord of onzozo, but someone I know recently got it on Gilgamesh, the most heavily JP'ed server in the game ^^ I wanna see someone with this and a Ridill ^^ Once I get to 75sam i'm starting over with ranger, and I want to get ridill/kraken dual wielded ^^
though i am a dark knight, this would make a great pld weapon, i dont think the pld would EVER lose hate, i wonder if the pld would out damage use dark knights and rangers in a long run o.O
I was leveling my lvl 51 rdm/blm in Garlaige last night when I turned around to see this rdm/nin doing some constant attacks on a Wraith. I of course checked him out and found that he had the Rare/EX weapon Joyeuse in Main and the Rare weapon Kraken Club as Sub. He was hitting the Wraith constantly anywhere between 4-10 times, and even did some kind of up-thrust move with one of the weapons (similar to what Link would do in Legend of Zelda 2: Link's Adventure, but slightly different). The only time I would see him pause was for 1 sec. before he would continue attacking the Wraith. I felt pity for the poor ghost for it barely scratched the rdm/nin that had Utsusemi:Ichi/Blink/Stoneskin/Phalanx on him. o.O Pity the people who face him in Ballista. ; ; This guy will probably tear you down before you get a chance to hit him.
Memo to self: Get Joyeuse and Kraken Club once you get high enough to equip this weapon. x.x
I went to Ye Olde Auction House and Looked for people that recently bought this club. I got lucky and found a Japanese guy that spoke a little english and he agreed to show me, but he told me his friend was borrowing it. About 10 minutes later he shows up where I was farming and had the club.
Oh my Lord this thing hits fast! The video is impressive but it ain't nothing like seeing it in person! We had to go somwhere where the enemies were a little tougher...
Lemme explain something:
If it decides to hit any more than 4 time(Which it does regularly) The delay on the club is spent... So once it's done with 4 hits, it goes on to the next set of hits. It does just keep swinging. I have my damage display on screen and the number keep flying up one every quarter second or so. And about every 3- 4 seconds this guy busted out with a weaponskill...
This club is like the entire LAPD beating on mobs!
This would suck for a thief in a party, even if using it in the off-hand. Sure you'll get TP super fast but it's liek guaranteed that you will accidently swing during your "sneak attack (wait 1) trick attack (wait 1) Dancing Edge/Viper bite"
And if you say "Oh wel I'll just put it in my macro to unequip the Kraken before I do my SA+TA+WS" well sorry but that resets your TP to zero.
SATA does say in a sense take precedence over what you are doing, but not statistically, Im pretty sure if you review logs you will see that you in fact did swing 3 times off the triple, however that your action seen simply stopped. As for the SA accidentally landing off your sub weapon, I dont think that is possible. I could be wrong, but while soloing I have noticed while using SA that I have landed hits before my SA, but my SA actually landed after my swing from the sub weapon. This is due to one of two things:
1. SA cannot land off of your subbed weapon -OR- 2. SA was in my chat log after my first two swings which were really swings after my SA, being due to log delay.
Log delay does happen, you can see when you bind enemies in areas that are lagging uber sickly.
I.E. Line1 - The "MOB" is no longer bound. Line2 - "Player" cast bind on "MOB"
I cannot confirm that SA and/or TA will not land off of your subbed weapon, however I have never had it happen. Also on thf forum I have read from many users to keep your highest dmg weapon in main hand as it determines your base ATK and also its your SATA weapon.
Your Macro takes precedence over anything you are doing. If I am in the middle of a Triple attack and I hit my SATA macro, I will stop tripling. So, no you won't run into problems with this club. Maybe a thief with this item can clarify?
Oh and there has never been a sale of this item on the Jeuno AH on Fenrir.
THF/NIN + Dagger in main + Kraken Club in second = spam SanTa+WS every 60 seconds :D
Anyone know how tripple attack affects this weapon? I can't imagine Square would allow it to trigger on any swing, that would be ridiculous.

regardless of weither we all agree on how this thing should be used, it is pretty clear to most of you that this is one of the best items that exsists in the game. as many of you have seen from the adaman video and from personal experience, "ocassionally" is some BS, this club SPAMS hits. whatever your preference is, weither its using this on a whm and spamming hexa strike, putting this on a rdm with en___ spells, or putting this on your off hand with a high damage weapon on your main hand for rediculous weaponskills, (or any combination of these things lol) this item...is by far...one of the best items in the game

Occasionally is kind of silly. I saw a BST using this out in altepa desert. He was attacking so "occasionally" that it almost seemed like he never stopped swinging.
Well, I'm betting the "occasionally" kicks in on each swing.
Say you got a free 2 more swings. Occasionally kicks in there. In the last swing of those two, you get a free 5 swings. Occasionally kicks in there. Say you got a free 8 off the last swing in those 5. Ocassionally stacks there. I don't need to continue, but you get the idea. Especially if you get 2 "occasionally"'s in one 8 swing. Then they can really stack up.
That isn't how it works. Think of it as YOU swing once, and the CLUB attacks the extra times. The "occasionally" plus attack will only kick on on YOUR attacks. You can't get more than 8 swings on one attack. It won't stack like that.
I had a friend who just did his last AF piece (Redmage AF), he said he partied with a lvl72 NIN, who wield an katana on his right hand, and this on his off hand, after what he told me i felt so sick i almost throw up... he said during the NM fight, the NIN was CONSTANTLY hitting NM, constantly meaning actually NONE-STOP! he said, the time that he (my friend RDM) took to cast a LightningII, the NIN got in 9 solid, not missed, hits, and when the NM's HP is down to last 1/3, he did a convert and cureIII, and during the time he's doing this the NIN hit so much, and so hard too (curse their critical rates) by the time his cureIII landed, the NM was one hit away from death.... ::shudder:: After he told the story to me, the last thing he said was "Occasionally my @$$! (censoring)"
Ever heard of Ridill? Yeah, with tripple attack, kraken club and ridill you will pretty much never stop attacking except to do WS's, by time you actually get the WS off you will be attacking again so fast you'll just have to do another weapon skill. ^^ might not be able to DW 2 kraken clubs, but lets not forget ridill ^_^
When I refer to 'Dual Wielding Kraken Club User' I usually mean someone who is a NIN or has subbed NIN and is using the Kraken Club and another weapon. Not someone who is holding 2 Kraken Clubs. I assume many others mean this as well, but don't make it clear.
In my case, I've seen the Kraken Club and Fransica on a 75 RNG/ 37 NIN against Polevik, who can take enormous amounts of damage. The fight lasted about 2 minutes. 7 attacks + haste on that character meant a lot of Bow weapon skills. It was nuts.
Saw this in action once .. I think (I say that because I didn't examine her). L75 WHM was clearing out the room with a 75MNK (kept using Asuran Fists, very nice) and when I got the chance to see the WHM fighting .. wow. In about 3 seconds she hit the mob about 5 or 6 times. I didn't see her so much as I heard her, but it was still amazing. When I'm up at that level, whenever that may happen, I'm definitely picking one of these up, even if just as a "for fun" weapon.
this weapon really isn't made for damage. its made to get tp up. buy this level you have awesome club weapon skills. i have seen someone subbing ninja dual wield this and royaly rape mobs because he got tp up so fast.... by the way whn i t says occasionally hits 2-8 times... that occasionally is about every 30 seconds it multi hits i usually see people average out around 5 hits but then spamming weapons skills with it stacks up the damage fast
Try reading. We've already been over this earlier on the board, and already established the fact that you dual weild with this club, and another weapon. We all know it's rare, we all know you can't hold 2 of them, try thinking first, next time.
Also this club does very little damage, so the double damage from Mighty Strikes won't really add a whole lot.
Now, Kraken Club + Haste is a definite win. A dual-wielding Kraken Club user can spam Weapon Skills as fast as a Polearm wielding Samurai. Best use I've seen so far of the club is to build TP for RNG weapon skills. Saw a dual-wielding RNG/NIN wipe out Polevik this way.
Seems like the damage would be pretty pathetic by itself considering what kind of stuff you'd fight... I saw it in action once, looked like some Taru was just out fto foola round and have fun with it...
I thik the only class that could do better damage with this that with a better damageing weapon would be a RDM with enspell damage.. that would make the damage really nice... for other classes, isn't this just a toy?
