Well, damascene cloth just hit 6mil a piece... even with high clothcrafting I'm going to have to BCNM this cloth. SE desperately needs to do something to control this inflation...

Yea on Valefor the cloth was hitting around 5.4-6mil, and the vermy cloak was around 19-22mil for around a month or so then last week everything went back down again lol now cloth is at like 2.4-3.2mil and cloak around 8-10mil.

Got a cloth from a Contaminated Colosseum run last night, so that one drops it, too (it's Atropos Orb in Horlais Peak for anyone interested).

Leave it to SE to make impossible priced items even higher by removing drops from certain NMs. I started lvling clothcraft so I could sign my own verm cloak, and after a year and a half, I still can't afford 1 cloth, let alone 3 of the ************** ***** SE, all they know how to do is nerf.

I've tried bcnms, the cloth doesnt ever want to drop, I've tried camping against gilsellers at KA, drops have sucked. It seems gilsellers never have problems with drops, but let a legit player claim something,. and, I'll stfu, I'm pissed.

Ever thought that maybe they removed the drop from Aquarius for the people who actually need a Fransisca? Lots of NMs drop the cloth, but only one drops the axe.

Also, the only reason the gilsellers get the cloth so often is because they get claim on KA so often. I know a few people on phoenix who help some gilsellers. Their drop rate is just the same, but since they get claim almost every night, they get drops more often. Want a little advice? Get into a Sky LS and do god runs. Most of the HNM/Sky linkshells I know of are more than happy to help people get craft items provided that you're willing to craft for other people too.

I was in hnmls, i quit after they told me I couldn't use points I earned legitly, and they allowed JP people in ls to go months and months in negitive points, but they could lot on whatever they wanted to. I asked for help with gil numberous times with them, they ignored me. They loved to help those who already had a nice fortune of gil. I was nice and polite up until the point they told me I couldn't use my points. Anyone in the same position would have quit just like I did. Sigh, I shouldn't feel like explaining myself on forums. Forget it.

Aquarius no longer drops this, unless the drop rate has gone down significantly since the update.

Weird prices
# Jul 12 2005 at 8:37 AM Rating: Decent
Last I checked this cloth went for 2.4mil on Phoenix.

The Vermi goes for ~7.3mil and the Royal goes for ~8.5mil ><

Translated to the best of my knowledge: I'll never get one.

how would you synth something with 2 diff crafts at lvl 87 +
if you can only use 40 extra guild points once you reach lvl 60 craft???

Royal Bed woodowrking 87 and goldsmithing 87

how is this possible or is it a mistake?

kinda noobish question, i have 3 crafts at 60+ i need to know which to lvl past 60

It's just incorrect. You only need one of them at 87 (not sure which), and the other at a high level (60 ideally).

Well, I guess you could get two crafts to 80 and then just craft it when you're underleveled. I can't imagine why anyone would do that, though, since it would basically be a lot of time and effort spent on achieving a good way to waste Damascene Cloth...

the cloth gos for 3 mill on my server and the vermillions cloak 4 mill......do these prices make any sence to anyone? how would you make a profit off of the cloak unless u +1 it which is very unlikely

You make a profit if you farm the cloth yourself, otherwise like with most crafted items, you only really make a profit off the HQ. Look at Amemet Mantle which goes for 5-10k, though the skin sells for 300k. This is pretty standard in the crafting world.
cost so much ;;

Such a goofy item to be worth so much when it doesn't seem all THAT bad to get compared to some other items. Wonder why so much inflation on it.

Such a goofy item? This is used to make the all popular Vermillion Cloak. A cloak that is used by most end game White Mages (until they can get a noble tunic) and Summoners. The main place this drops from is Aquarius. This is a ******* crab that is hated by many people.

I have been camping Aquarius for a while now, and I can tell you he is a pain in the butt. I’ve got at least 30 kills of him under my belt. Probably more, but I lost count a while ago. When killing it solo, I get fairly bad drop rates. I went 1 for 13 in a stretch, that really sucked.

This is what causes the inflation of the item. When you can camp it for 2 or 3 days straight, and not get a drop on a NM that spawns about every 3 hours. And you need 3 of these clothes to make a Vermillion, you can see why.

"the" cloth
# Apr 13 2004 at 12:54 PM Rating: Decent
as you can see by the list of items that require this cloth, its value is quite insane. i need to check on the belt, but if it truely has -5% damage, thats probably the best tank belt in the game. and verm is up there pretty high on the uber items list as well. this is the main ingredient for those items

I believe that all the items you have listed as "Damask" are actually called "Damascene" or "Damascus." The name of the actual cloth is Damascene cloth.

I might be confused with another cloth item, but is this the one for Vermillion Cloak also?
