This thing cost's 500,000 gil in bastok on hades server.
Farmed necklaces for 12 hours, got 4 inventories full of 52(52 x 4= 208 Necklaces) and traded them all in, my Rice Ball price was 158, Pure BS, Me and my friend traded the same ammount and his were at 153~ I got screwed somehow. So if you heard that its 200 necklaces(like I did) and/or 50 quest (which is 200 necklaces) then slap that *** and just go do it with 260+ I heard that every 7 times you do the quest it lowers the price by 4 gil, not sure if that is accurate, but if so 260+ should get you done.

I got the quest after 3 day farming for bead necklace. The price for rice ball was 156. Check in norg, got quest. Was confuse on the ledge thing. I saw the Sea Monz, but no ???.I'll check it again tomorrow.
i did the necklease quest alot about 6 or 7 tirps of 30 each time didnt know how much fame i needed. i was having fun making money from all the honey beehives and silvebestcoins stacks i got i got killed that nm that drops the monster a few times 0/5 in two days time. fingerd i should go check what my rice balls where are 147 didnt know if that would do it and noone was on ls to ask and since it was 7am when i was all done didnt get much out of shouting what price they needed to be. so i run down to norg to see if i could get the quest. i had 5 sneak/invis with me but got lost after i traded the coin to the door so i just walked around still i run out of sneak/invis and warped out getting a stack of each this time hope to get it done soon so i can sleep p.s doing as 55drk/24blm
lol didnt know i was so close walked right passed that sea monz i was like am not jumping down there :( now i have to do it all over again scary monster made me not want to drop down there lol trying again now
yea found it np didnt think i had the right door at the end. so i back traced a little to make sure i had the right door b4 i killed invis the door is at H-5 will gl time to lvl nin more. p.s fame on rice balls is at 145 now :)

I traded in 28 Yagudo necklaces and price of rice ball didn't go down at all. So I traded in 92 Zinc ores (did it 23 times) and had enough fame for this quest. So you do not need 120 ores, unless Yag necklaces somehow give more fame than the ores (which they definitely don't). I already had the Sam and Nin quests done in Norg beforehand. So, to sum it up, for definite level 4 fame in Norg:
Sam and Nin quests done
Trade in 28 Yag necklaces
Trade in 92 Zinc ores
Hopes this helps some people. Rice ball price after all of this was 158, btw, but I still got the quests.

I dont have the quest yet and i need help knowing y i dont have it this is what i did so far.

Went to Rice Girl and check ( 153 Gil each )
Did both the Rusty Leggings and Subl. quest for the scrolls.
Went to Norg didnt get the quest off of Laisrean.
Now every one is saying that i can do the quest i am talking tot he wrong guy i talked to every one in Norg nothing. what is going on do i need more beads do i have to do the zing quest?

Ok... spent a good 3 days, 2 hours a day train-farming yagudos with my 32BLM. Managed to snag 136 necklaces (roughly). I'm a Tenshodo Member (bought the Invite from AH and traded it in). My rice ball price as of this morning is 161. Now, on this character, I don't have NIN unlocked; this character is just the best farmer out of my two characters, due to -ga spells.
Think that's enough? Or should I go ahead and do some more necklaces?
Oh, and my biggest train that I've managed is 24 Yagudos. Half of them dropped necklaces (b^_^)b
EDIT:: I just don't want to go to Norg, find out I can't do the quest, and have to haul *** back across the world to farm more. Thanks.
EDIT2: I got it, if anyone really cares... 124 yagudo necklaces, 40-ish zinc ores and the rusty leggings/rusty subligar quests gave me just enough fame. Not surprised that i didn't get a response on this site... it's crap.

I went to get Tonko and Utsusemi, after getting NIN and lvling it up some. I read up, says riceball price under 155 will work. I trade my Necklace farmin' *** off to Nanaa Mihgo, overall at least 200 necklaces. I know at least, because I wrote down all the ones up to 204. Riceball price says 153. AWESOME. So I go to Norg, do Tonko, got it. Now for Utsusemi. Yeah, I couldn't get it. The problem here is, she's a guildseller, so depending on her business, she heightens or lowers her prices. I had to get my price down to 151 before I got Utsusemi that day. >.< Just be careful on the price, my end count for trades on necklaces was 252.
Well, I believe this scroll is sitting at around 300k on Sylph. I bought it when it had been at 100k a long time ago. :D And now I believe I have enough fame to actually do the quest. I can't tell you exactly how many Necklaces I handed,(rough estimate:150) and it wasn't even that difficult. Spent maybe 4-5 hours total getting necklaces. If anyone out there thinks getting the fame for this is impossible, just keep at it and you'll eventually get there. Good luck!

The Fame u need for Utsusemi: Ichi can be checked at Jeuno place by the price on Rice balls the rice balls for me cost 53 gil, i have enough fame ^^ hop that helps u =D

i got the quest today
i found the shady business quest to be pretty easy. did it about 22 times over a hour and a half. bought the zinc from ppl's bazaars.

Finaly got scroll after about 10 to 12 hours of work in Giddius. I bought a bunch of necklaces off of people camping Hoo Mjuu and then bought a bunch more from the AH. I did that quest roughly 31 times (124 necklaces) and my rice ball price in Jeuno was 158 so I bough a bunch of zinc ores from AH in Jueno then headed out to Bastok. Bought a bunch in Bastok when I got there too. Did that quest roughly 13 times (52 ores) then. Went back to Jeuno and rice ball price was 153. Headed to Norg and got Tonko and Utsusemi quest. Probably spent a total of 20k and a bunch of farming but better than spending the 200k that it costs on AH. ^^

This only took a day and a half and I wasn't even playing constantly.
Do Mihgo's Amigo quest and keep track of your Necklace count. 200 Necklaces should be enough, I turned in 220 for a little buffer as I had done NONE of the Norg Quests.
Keep circling around the area where Juu Tzuu spawns so you can catch a pop and maybe get the Hunter's Longbow. The Yag pop timers worked in my favor and kept a nice stream of kills going. I started around 170k Gil and after all the necklaces was at around 220k. Got the Bow drop once, sold for 17k. The rest was Silver Beastcoins and just regular Gil from Yags.
My Rice Ball price was at 155 and I did the Tonko: Ichi Quest first, and then the Utsusemi: Ichi quest.
Good Luck! One days work is so worth it instead of paying 300k+!

My Linkshell: Lostlegion in Slyph gets 250 yagudo bead necklaces and we get the right amount of fame for it. It also is good because you can get tons of gil if your a THF/NIN use the boomerang to train, you get about 250 gil per train plus 10 yagudo bead necklaces.
For the Utsusemi:Ich Scroll you should have at least 1 lvl 60 person helping u and it would be good to have a Map of Sea Serpent Grotto so you can get to the positison: N-14 to find a hidden door there (Must have Silver Beastcoin) enter the beastcoin and go through the door. drop down to the Sahagin Storage area and travel to H-3: once there, examine the area carefully to find a Sea Serpent Statue (marked ???) Warp back to Norg and talk to Laisraen to obtain Utsusemi:Ichi Scroll.

Where in Jeuno can you check Riceball prices? I would appreciate the area and the position please.
Lower jeuno, neptunes spire, front desk...not sure what the position is but the lady at the front desk sells them...

Yea... its up to 500k on gilgamesh last time I checked... Which really ticks me off since I did the quest a week before, and sold it for 250k
Okay, for all the people set on using rice balls as your indicator, it does work...However, the AMOUNT of quests you do for Tenshodo/Norg I believe ends up having a greater effect on your fame than doing the repeatable ore/necklace quests. My rice balls were priced at 161 after having done all of the following:
*Ninja flag
*Samurai flag
*Samurai AF1 (Yes, it counts as a Norg quest)
*About 120 necklaces I farmed.
*Zinc ore quest...maybe 4 times.
*Rusty Bucket quest. (Not positive this is even Norg fame.)
*Ninja scrolls for Rusty Subligar/Leggings
I thought 161 seemed rather high to have done all that. But last night I completed my SAM Af2 quest, and just to check, I talked to the guy, and got Utsusemi quest. I haven't checked if my rice balls dropped significantly from completing this quest, but all I'm trying to say is, the rice balls aren't end-all-be-all determinate of whether or not you have enough fame. Individual quests are worth more than repeating the necklace or the ore quests, and I think my story is proof of that.
Anyway, right now I'm holding TWO scrolls...lol...(friend of mine quit the game with this quest active, so before he left I signed on and did it. Haha.)
