Ok, just shootin the sh*t a little.... I noticed the other day in Caederva Mire (or however the hell you spell it) I had Sanction refrsh, Noble's Tunic, and Pluto's Staff. I was 72WHM/37SMN and with Fenrir out there was no drain on my mp at all. I was so happy i had to tell you everybody lmao. I didn't know the hidden -perp for avatar effect worked even if you subbed SMN WOOT!

Ok well with this one i did it on lightday Full moon i got 2/8 HQ so this wasnt very good day but im making my study and doing the research.

I just did 1/7 HQ yesterday lost about 2Mill..
Today I tried again and did 3/7 so Im even break, with 100+6 you got higher chance for HQ but hell no it can be 75%
I've also had a fail where I lost my bead ;;
Overall its juts luck, of course new moon/full moon and the day affect this but mostly luck, one HQ on Bahamuth make up for about 3-4 NQ's depend on wich.

That's funny, because on Gilgamesh, if you melee as a rdm, you get kicked out of your party pretty damn quick, which infuriates me, because all those enspells we go to the trouble of buying get wasted, the party loses about 100 damage per fight, you don't cap your weapons, and spend more mp nuking the enemy, resulting in longer fights and more downtime.

Yo if you cant keep your Parties MP up to reduce the downtime on your RDM you rly just need to kill yourself, a good RDM can keep a Party of 6 completely Refreshed, and Hasted, Enfeeble, Sleep Add's, and Nuke with little problems its all about timing your cast's and keeping a rythm and if you cant do that you should go play a different job... If you wanna DD lv SAM, DRK, BLU, MNK, WAR, or even BLM if you wanna use magic but RDM is a BACK-LINE job lmao... and if you want to lv your Sword skill's and use the little enhancements do like every other normal person does SKILL-UP Parties ^^d...

yah babay! I use Dark and light staff, remember tho that all those bonus u get when u equip this staff, toward dark magic, hurt your light magic, make sure to switch it out when u heal etc, same goes for the rest of the staff they hurt the opposite alingment spell, Ice ^ Wind v. you get the picture.

I would like to eventually use this staff when im a high enough level. It looks badass, has decent stats. The main reason why i want it is because i see BlackMages runing around with little wands and such that look kind of weak (they are really powerful) i know Blackmages are not suppost to look all high and mighty because their real power lies within, but still..Can we have a staff like this one, but only more for making the BlackMage stronger (Mp bonus/Int bonus mainly)...

yeah im a rdm thats been playing around with the dark staff. I seriously think that swords are better though. the staff doesnt do much. and when u switch to dark staff when resting your tp is gone =/

Ummmm, so you give up a couple hundred mp that you could be getting with the staff for a lame 50 dmg ws? ok...
With a ginger cookie and one of these babies i get 32 mp per tick when healing and hardly ever have to convert, if you are still meleeing at your level, you're just wasting your time.

What is the advantage of this over Dark Staff? I know it gives +2 to each stat, but you only use it while healing, why even bother with it?

The Pluto's Staff is so popular because it boosts Dark Element spells. This is most useful with Sleep, which is generally a spell which is very important to stick.

Got you all beat! I am on the Ragnarok server and this staff sells for 400K in jueno AH. I thought the price the high for me, but I think I was the one who got the steal for this staff. Good luck getting it. I got lucky with the prices on my server.

if that isn't a typo, you may be mistaking this for another item. dark ore sells for 390-420k on fairy, as of 10 minutes ago. the "cheapest" ore is still over 250k, while the costliest is 600k.
dark staves go for right around 500k, while pluto's sells pretty consistently at a million gil, or just a bit less.
prices have gone down of late, for obvious reasons. on the date of your post 500k was about average for dark. (i've been gardening since long before various "get rich growing ___!" recipes started making the rounds, so i pay close attention to price trends.)

To make this item, you need help from both an extremely high skilled Goldsmither and Carpenter. Most likely, the best carpenter and goldsmither on your server are needed to make this. The jewel that goes into the staff is EXTREMELY expensive.

The items from the summons battles are Rare EX.
These staves are tradeable.
These staves are crafted by HIGH level carpenters, but don't get your hopes up. The key component is some refined elemental ore which is amazingly rare and expensive so the chances of ever crafting one is very small. Their price directly reflects the cost of materials not an inflation due to the skill needed to craft them.

When you defeat the primal avatar (the classical ones from FF: Shiva, Ifrit, ect) and go back to town you have the option of getting one of three items or getting the summon. This is repeatable, but the battles are really tough.
