Eldieme Coffer Key  

i need the key for my af gaunlets anyone wanna help me please /tell altairr ingame thank you

well I was doing this for my RDM AF, all by myself i went as THF/RDM to pick the lock and get through with sneak/invis. after about 20 minutes of not finding anything, I ask this pt who I thought was looking for coffer key because they had a 50 RDM in pt, but they were just doing 50 cap. so I offer to help them if after they will work the gates for me and they agree. and so after a while I notice this 55 RDM with a 75PLD being pretty rude about doors, like /sh gate plz.
/sh gate yes plz. so I /sh manners [do you need it?]. n then they came to the odins gate where we were, and I ask the 75SMN who was working the liches at a different brazier to open the gate, and then the odins gate opened and i didnt think there was much chance, but i went anyway. me and the 55 RDM take off, me being THF/RDM i flee, sneak/invis,and in the corner what do i see but the treasure coffer. I thought the RDM was farther behind but sneak/invis took me a bit to cast so he was right on me. so i stop at the coffer and hit enter, and i stop and kinda freeze to see the message about the coffer key, so i think damn! Im stupid now I lose it. but i guess the RDM who was right on the chest as well was fumbling to find his key, luckily THF tools are always right up top, i hit inventory, pop a tool, watch the chest open, and pray I got it... Cheddar obtains a pair of old gauntlets! I was pretty happy, but I felt bad. except then I remembered how much of an ass this RDM was, they were stealing our liches even though they don't even drop the key. anyways thats my story..dark spark later tonight, then maybe hat tomorrow then im done RDM AF :)

Went today with two people. WAR 54, and PLD 75 who needed the key for his alt. Got 2 key drops off 3 mobs, then had to zone or get wiped... I passed on the second in case something went wrong and the PLD didn't get his key. ; ; So he and the WAR got theirs and I'm still keyless lol

Now we're going back to try again tomorrow. We're on Siren Server, if anyone wants to come along...

Update: Got key! Thanks to above mentioned PLD and some LS people, a RDM, and a WAR that needed the coffer... ^^

Off to Beaucedine to camp that coffer.

I'm so mad.

I just got 2 in 3 fights for a LS member.

But, mine took 7hours....for one...

For the record... because i have not bothered to read all the threads (alot tho), I got my key from a haunt. 3 hours of killing and me dieing twicw from that AOE drain from various critters. We had 10 people helping with this and only 2 had thf...as sub. I think there is a morale to this story... No.. guess not.
If Luck is a Lady, she is a mean BIT**, that is in bad need of a lay. Now I go to find the coffer. /em Eye twitches uncontrollably.

wow, i got lucky. I went to eldineme as rdm70/35blm. made a camp on a ledge, idk the pos but it had like 2 mages and 2 wars in a room. i fought a tomb mage first, a tomb war second, and another tomb mage, and got one key on the 3rd skeleton. I thought it would take longer then that but i was real surprised that it dropped so quickly for me. Now i can get my blm af pants ^^ good luck to all who need this key

does this coffer key reallt drop from a lvl 18 earth elemental in SC?

I actually had fun hunting for this key with my 75BST buddy, me being a lvl 75 BST as well. I just got my Scythe of Trials and well, he needs to skill up his. So we come out here cuz we're both gonna lvl our blm's and we need this coffer for our pants. Im a lvl 60 BLM and still dont have em lol. we do the nifty nightmare > vorpal > transfix SC and MB a couple times w/ cure lol. no key drop, but i did get 360 limit points and he got a few skill ups on scythe. No key, but I had fun beating the sh*t out of these damn skeletons. We even killed a few of them Springer things and a couple of Haunts. 1st one was to see if we could, 2nd one was an accident... lol... meant to pull a springer... (i'm sleepy)(please forgive me)

Although, I really think SE should put some higher lvl bats or something here for us to charm... i mean, what's a Necropolis w/o bats? Or maybe some of them hecteyes, those are fun. Although CourierCarrie kicks butt and if you bring enough biscuits they'll last a while at lvl 75. but what about the lvl 50-60 BSTs? Won't someone please think about the children!

Yup I found both coffer and chest there waiting un-camped.

I gota know if Im wastin my time siting and waiting for a coffer to spwan, do they respwan after a certan time like normal chests? If so what is the respwan time?

Dont underestiamate the coffer spwan point in Beaucedine Glacier part of Eldieme, thats where I found my coffer after waiting a few hours by the hume bones.

I am a firm believer that going with Small key hunting groups are better. When my LS usually does this, we try to keep the group limited to about 4 people. A tank, 2 RDMs (one subbed WHM, one BLM), and a THF. Usually we do pretty good on the drops. We only went over the 2 hour mark once that way.

I'm gonna cut the crap and get top the point.

PT settup:
75 RNG
60 PLD
60 BLM
55 PLD <me
55 DRK
58 RDM

We went in and got 4 keys in a half hour.

Well this story takes place in front of an Auction House far far away,

Im sitting around chatting a little left and right (im lv.51 PLD at the time). and i decide im too unfocused to be able to party and keep the cool head and listening to all the annoying <call> sounds.

So i start checking my friend list of who else is online. and i find a lv.73 Dragoon friend who is sitting around doin nothing as well. So i ask him if he would wanna take me coffer hunting in Eldieme and he say sure. ok so we´re of! this was my first coffer hunt btw^^

We get to the Hume Bones room without any difficulties. Start killing Tomb Mages/warriors after about 6 or 7 kills (it went slow since we were only two and i didnt exactly deal much damage), then 2 from his LS who were also bored to death decide to come and aid our search so they arrive and now we are killing stuff within 30 sec each (not everyday you get 3 lv.70+ players to help you at once^^).

Anyway key drops on the 2nd or 3rd mob we kill after they arrive XD. So im like yay!! checked around on the 2 coffer spawns in that area, nothing. And the two newly arrived helpers were unsatisfied because it ended so quickly. So we decide to hunt for the coffer key in Garlaige Citadel as well.

Killed a bunch of Fallen mobs and Vault and Over weapons and key drops on the 7th mob or so. then they left to hunt for a HNM but i was happy got two vital keys within 2 hours^^

Anyway now i was on my own. didnt know what to do. i couldnt get inside to the coffers spawns in either place on my own. But i figured that i might be able to tag along another party through Eldieme Necropolis and so i did. ended up back in the Hume bones room, checked every spawn there still nothing. So i go back out and in the same way that gets you to the first map. Had extreme luck with doors since all the doors i wanted to go through were opened^^ anyway no coffers lying around in any of these spawns. the only one i had yet to check was the one from the Glacier area.

Then it suddenly hits me. the spawn point from the Beaducine Glacier area must be the last spawn location players decide to check out since its such a long walk. So i check it out and Booya! its lyin there waiting for me.

Heres the funny part i didnt know that sneak dropped when you open the coffer so i get like really scared since i knew i had Utukkus behind me. throw a new silent oil without thinkin twice and they never aggroed even though they were well within the aggro range=/

Got really surprised that i was still alive but took this chance to run faster than the speed of light. Made it out in one piece with my old gauntlets. Now i just have to figure out a way to deal with old sparky in Castle Zvahl...

A few things worthy of taking notice:
If youre like me and didnt have a whm job to sub and cast sneak and invis. Buy at least 3 stacks of silent oils. Because they will be your best friend^^.

trying for the bell again, killed an earth ele and a plain chest key dropped. We need coffer )=

I got mine in like 20 mins.

Never gonna beleive this...i'm been shouting in Jeuno for the past week trying to get some help. One of my LS mates told me to just cough up the cash and pay someone to get it for you. So i finally give in and start shouting reward available. When this level 75 BRD/37 WHM comes to me and says, i'll help you out. He brings along a 75 MONK/37 THF. And we get the drop in our first fight. I almost sh**** my pants. We were all amazed.

i'm a level 54 blm, i went with a 54 whm, 56 blm, 66 drk, 68 war and a 45 thf. we needed 4 coffer keys and 1 bell for the whm. we got 3 keys in 2 hrs. even though we where 1 key short and didn't get the bell i'd say we were pretty successful.....of course 1 of the keys was mine XD.....oh yeah i also popped the coffer 10 minutes after i got my key....+15 DRK magic..(|Yes please.|)

Well, I'm 50 blm and I got this on my second run to the Necropolis. The first time was okay, although I volunteered to go last and didn't get a key.

The second time was horrible. I went with the same drk but a whole new group of people. Despite the fact that we had a 74 pld tanking this time versus the 54 and 58 plds of last time, it was awful. Fighting skeletons with Drain AOE, when 10/12 members of your alliance are melee...plus, the two mages were me (blm 50) and a rdm (anon, don't know his level). I had no refresh and no dark staff (1 level away from it) and everyone in my party had 1k+ HP. I said at the beginning I only had two and a half hours, about two hours in we got our first key. Against five-six other people, I won with a lot of 518, which is amazing. We fought another mob and boom, another key. The rdm got it. Half an hour later no more keys and people were getting tired, so I warped everyone out with my key in my inventory... :)

I would advise going to do this with fewer people, one party of 55-60 probably, and having a whm (Curaga II will be needed, I was trying to cure tank with the I version and it was a huge drain), as well as other mages. Someone needs to stun if you plan on taking Tomb Mages, they will cast AM, our mnk got hit with Quake the second time. As a note, we got two keys in about 2.5 hours, the night before about 2 in 4-5. We did NOT have Treasure Hunter II either time.

just spent 3 hrs killing mobs during fullmoon with a thf. no keys whatsoever. this game is more tedious than it needs to be.

Just want to let everyone going after this key, it sucks but possibly a little help, Spriggans dorp these too, I just ot mine from one finally. These are fairly tough, but if you are using an Alliance you may want to think about these, no annoying AOEs.
