Ok, so I decided to desynth the lantern with a wind. Stupid of me since I read this thread. Anyway, I HQ'd allright, but as medspirit said. Synth resulted in a Bronze sheet.
i just failed at this synth 11 times in a row. on the 12th time i got the olive oil. i had imagery support, im alchemy lvl 60, and it was watersday. no way in hell its a lvl 23-24 synth

that is the problem. any day but watersday and you will have much better results, dunno why. at earlier levels of alchemy far below 60 i was able to, on average, desynth these at a rate of 1 toad oil/per desynth.
Apparently you can get Toad Oil from Tonberry Lanterns. One lantern in a water crystal will yield: normal - 3 Olive Oil/ HQ1 - Toad Oil / HQ2 - Slime Oil. Also, a lanten in a wind crystal will yield: normal - 3 glass fiber / HQ - 2 Toad Oil. Hope this helps.
