If anyone on Caitsith can be pretty well-assured of making these, I would gladly supply the materials. Lvl 56 BLM, still relying on my Wisdom rings--which, incidentally, I have no problem with using, but if I could get at least one of the genius rings, that'd be pretty sweet. ^_^

Okay theres a trick to these rings getting HQ and HQ2. If you use a HQ ring in it and the stone it will be HQ auto and a HQ of that would be the +2
No it won't, NQ synth will give you a regular Zircon ring. HQ synth will however give you a Genius+1.

I cant believe some of the things ppl say on this website. I have these rings and i am in the largest God linkshell on my server, whoever i didnt get chosen because of my genius rings. ANd HQ staffs?? Are you nuts, I have a fair bit of cash and every reg staff and an aquilo's staff, but wasting money on all the HQ staffs is just plain retarded unless your a SMN. Thesee rings are strictly status symbols.

Having all the staffs is a pretty good idea, and if you have the cash to have all the HQ ones, is totally worth it.
Here is why:
Every staff adds about 10% extra damage output to the spell you are casting, as long as it is the same element.(if it is the opposite element you get a -10% nerf)
For example, FREEZ usually MB for 1000HP unresisted, but when you use the ice staff, you get 10% extra, thats about 1100Hp... notice that you are not bursting for 1100 be cause of the +10 elemental, but be cause of the staff being the same element. The elemental only improves the resist rate.
And the +1 version gives you a nice 15% extra damage. So no, they are not status items. And probably each HQ satff has more hidden stats still unknown like the avatar perpetuation form the light staff.
If you are a whm get the HQ light staff, be cause the extra cure % can keep the chain going on, and if you are blm, try to do the same be cause that diffrence can keep the chain, or save your ass.
And no, you wont get laughed if you dont have the HQ(s) staff, but they are not status items either.

I want 2 of these rings but unfortunatly I'm gonna have to settle for zircon rings =/ I don't have anywhere near 1.6mil and have never had (in my year of playing) more than 400k at one time. Obviousely not every1 is meant to have +1 $hi+. (o yea, and i pissed away 300k to lvl goldsmithing to 25 so someday I might craft this ring.)

Considering the price they go for, you'd be better off going with Eremite Rings +1 or those level 36 HQ rings. Seriously, on Alexander, you are basically paying 430k for +1 more INT. Horrid ratio and the effects are completely negligable. Not sure why people flip over these rings now for mages...

yeah it is a "horrid ratio," but these are still the best rings at the level. You shouldn't sell everyhting you have, and go farm for 2 months just to get these, but when you do have the gil they are well worth it.
Oh~ and if you have 2 eremites+1... unless their price is much lower on your server than carbuncle it is much better to sell them and *atleast* by the normal zircon rings. same int as eremites and +7 vs. ice
