The best part of Final Fantasy XI is its rich storyline. It separates this game from other MMORPGs. I chose to give my character a storyline that goes along with the game's storyline. I find that this is a more fun way to play the game. Playing the game just to fight in the endgame and collect elite equipment is very boring and is totally missing the main objective of the game, which is to guide your character through the storyline which is to save the world.
hmm?

I think.. you need to look at it again. It is Exclusive. The preice will never go up morover have a price at all, except if you consider CP currecny.

At the risk of causing the price on this item to go up, I think the biggest attraction to items that have a latent triggered by being "outside own nation's control" is Dynamis and (if I remember correctly) Sea. Dynamis & Sea are never controlled by any nation. Items like this one are invaluable in places like Dynamis & Sea for some jobs.

Take NIN for example. Typically a NIN in Dynamis doesn't tank, so they have to adapt as a DD. The choices in the neck slot for NIN as a DD is - spike necklace (unless the NIN has Sea access, and then there's some other neck items, but nothing that spectacular.) Spike Necklace isn't a bad item, but this gorget is so much better for TP gain since it adds additional ACC and a boost to ATT on top of it. The only thing even remotely comparable is a Peacock Charm (or Amulet.) It's a heck of a lot easier to obtain this gorget via CP as opposed to buying a Charm or camping Argus for the Amulet.

Edited to add: There's also the Royal Guard's collar: ACC+4 ATT+4, but this thing's 1 better, in'nt?

Gonna get just for nice accuracy and attk boost when out of region area... it might not happen often (/cheer Sandy) but it does in some areas...

Though if I ever camp Argus for rare/ex charm I'll have a worthless EX item.

Well this is a great item, only problem is I'm a monk and mostly lvl/Merit in KRT these days.

I wanted to point out that I noticed last night that this item DOES NOT WORK if you don't have signet on, so keep those signet staves handy.

I'm considering switching from Rank 8 Bastok to Sandy. Get up enough CP for this and achieve Rank 8, get item then switch back to Bastok. Considering Bastok is in last place nearly year round I'd say its a good deal.

I wonder if I should save up for this or not...It would be a huge waste of CP if I just went and got the spectacles...even though that might take awhile.

This item is available ONLY when Sandy is in 1st.

So its only available to Sandy people, because its possible to buy items from other nations only when your own nation is ranked higher, and you can't be ranked higher than first.

"Obtained with 1 Conquest Points" thats wrong I think, somepage list it as 40000 points, sounds more like it.

This is a rank 8 Sand'orian Conquest item. Sand'oria has to be #1 in order for it to be buyable. Unfortunatelly, this means that bastok and windurst can never buy this item as they would have to rank over sand'oria in order to buy it. (and then sando wouldn't be #1).

Actually, you CAN buy items from other nations when they are in first, but you have to pay twice as many to get the item.

The damn thing is EX. Only sandys can get this item, it seems, and probably only those with a very high rank and a TON of CPs. This item would be GREAT for bastok since we're always in last on my server with the only spots we have being Zulkheim and Gustaberg, and sometimes its not even zulkheim!

But since it's for sandys who are always in first and have no use for it anyway...

I'm pretty sure you can get this item, but it will cost you more CP's than it would for a San D'Orian. Talk to a R.K. guard in Sandoria and see if you can purchase it.

Make sure you find out where you are most frequently going to be using this before buying it, as with anything else with the same affect. If you end up buying it and relising that your region is always controlling the place you train thus when and where you are going to be wearing it.. well.. your pretty much screwed.

I think this item is okay. I'm not very often in areas under my own nations control. I spend too much time wandering around chasing good exp than worying over whether the area I'm in is under my nations control or not.
No, I'm not from Wind.
