Worst droprate ever. I killed 120 before I got the drop. There are only 2 mobs who drop this item and they spawn every 8-10. Good luck if you want it. AH almost never sells it but my solo SMN needed it...

I went into Inner Hornoto(whatever) and killed some magicked bones until this dagger dropped. There are only TWO dagger holding Bone mobs and they spawn 10mins after being killed. It took over 4 hours, maybe longer, to get the dagger to drop.
The only magicked bones that drop it are the mage types ones holding the dagger.
Good luck if you're camping it. It WILL drop eventually.

This can be desynthed with the recipe:
Lightning Crystal + Ceremonial Dagger = ???

However, none of my crafts were high enough to attempt to desynth - I would guess either it's Alchemy, Goldsmithing, or Smithing, but it would have to be a 59+ Goldsmithing desynth if it were that.

Anybody able to NQ/HQ a desynth want to post results?

perfect SMN dagger

wow, i just got this dagger on the Fairy server in Windurt for 15k. I love this dagger, its the perfect SMN weapon. the MP+ is key to ur job where the DMG of only 1 may seem gimped but IMO perfect DMG. you can now fight w/ carby w/out pulling hate off him. this dagger allows me to deal 1-3 dmg a hit and the speed of it is nice so i can deal a little dmg while carby takes over for main DD and main tank.for PTYs u are usually told to use summons but backup heal, so once again this dagger is A+ material. But if u are told to main DD w/ carby and ur weapon take out ur staff and have some fun. i will defenatly use this dagger to fight the other 6 summons along with a Hermit's Wand subbing and have a switch equip macro put into my carbuncle spell magic. So please every summoner try to get one of these and help give SMN a better name than they already have.

actually, this dagger has another use other than skill up and low lvl SMN, use it for RDM with an Enspell, and You will kill the mob without ever giving it TP (It will still get TP if it hits you though, but as RDM, you shouldn't be getting hit very much.)

I'm another person using this as an RDM. Since it gives my Galka mage more mp than Freesword's Staff (my previous option) it's obviously beneficial simply as +mp equipment, but the other key advantage is that I'm using it to cheese the dagger ability itself. I gained about five levels of dagger today on my first two (Easy) mobs thanks to the low damage inflicted. Add in the added exposure for shield & parrying skillups, together with the enhancing skillup of using Enthunder regularly, and you have a great little weapon.

This Dagger may LOOK good, but if you have ever tried leveling with it as a lvl 1 blm...bad...times...i suggest staves until ten then gett a ceremonial dagger. If u are a Bard, you should go camp for an aspir knife, way better for mp. ^^

... [/sigh] you obviously have no idea where this dagger shines. It is when attacking. If you have ever watched Avesta soloing big bomb then you would notice the bomb stays small. This is because he uses ceremonial daggers that hit for 0 but there is an add effect. Thus he doesn't give the mob tp. This is key when soloing mobs that have strong aoe atks.

These are good for skillups.

Wear - Str gear and + acc gear. Crab type mobs should take 0 damage per strike. Which means you can sleep them and still get skillups. Just gotta sleep them every time they wake up.

Heh, I'm still using this dagger on my lvl 24 BRD. Nothing better I can equip right now unless I wanted to melee, which does laughable damage, plus Ill be too busy to melee next level anyways. I've got about +30-40 MP on my bard, so this contributes a nice chunk of that MP. I have 83 MP with WHM subbed and +MP gear...think about my MP without all my +MP gear. I like this dagger for now. Now I'm pissed that I didn't kill those magicked bones when I saw them. I didn't know they dropped this item!

Is the ceremonial dagger used ina quest somehow? I'm just wondering as I got one to drop from a MAgicked Bone while in the Inner Horutoto Ruins. I saw that this sells for 5k at the AH on Shiva. When I went to sell it there were no others listed. The item is not noted as a Rare drop and it seems to really suck as a weapon, so any clues on what it is good for?

This is gonna sound a little backwards at first, so hear me out...

There are times- one in particular, that I'm about to mention, where you want to do 0 damage. Yeah you read that correctly.

When levelling up a weapon, it is sometimes hard to get a skillup party- at least a good one, anyway. So you have to solo things that just aren't easy to solo under normal circumstances. Take for instance my situation. I'm a lv 64 blm, and I have dagger at 141. I want to get it capped and keep it capped, along with staff and club. Now, the mobs I fight for skillup range from TW++ to EP and eventually will be EM or even T to me. No way I can solo that stuff... unless maybe its a worm. But its too tricky and I'm lazy and don't want to die. So... how to avoid getting ripped to pieces by a wimpy skillup mob?
Well, put it to sleep of course! And when you hit it for 0 dmg, it won't wake up. But you still get skill points. Nice deal, eh? And you don't need to keep pulling monsters- which means less chance of adds and links and death.

Why will I pay up to 10K for it? 'cause 10K is chump change when you're already shelling out a million gil per armor piece, and hundreds of thousands of gil for weapons, and have already invested half a million in spells. And I don't want to walk all the way out to midget land and hunt bones for one. Laziness. And that 10,000 gil = the 40-60 skill levels i want for my weapon. I don't remember what my cap is @ 75.

As for levelling with the thing, I'd say its good for smn, but junk for blm. Get an HQ wand. You'll be meleeing and casting while you solo your way to the dunes, and I promise the extra couple damage points a wand gives you is nicer than a dagger with 1 dmg. And the int boost is pretty nice for lowbies. Can't really tell ya if that thing is good for a whm, that job is totally backwards... I mean... curing things? wtf... (sarcasm)
Hmm looks like i wrote an essay in response to a simple question. Oh well, sorry about it XD
