I was just curious.... Does anyone know if you can craft a +1 with your name? I'm lvl 54 and I have tried several times and just get a named flute. I'm really trying to get a +1 version.
You have to use a special wind crystal, you can get them at the Woodworkers guild, or any guild for that matter. You have to be over 40 or 38 woodworking skill, i think, and sign a contract with the guild, then you exchange guild points to get theese.
I am lvl 66.8 Woodworking and this is worth 15 Guild points each, dont waste your time trading these just sell to make gil back from the initial 20k for parchment ; ;
Heres to all of u that are unshure on +1 synths. It has the greatest chance of a +1 to be synthed if its the same day as the crystal. (I.E fire crystal = fires day) as for the full moon thing im not all that shure

Actually if you craft on the same day as the crystal your more likely to have a sucessful craft, not more likely to +1. For HQ you want to craft on the day your crystal is weak to. So if your using a fire crystal craft on Watersday, if your using a wind crystal craft on Iceday.
Actually it has been proven that Darksday is the best to craft ANY HQ in ANY guild... And New moon phase has also been proven more effective. Hope it helps.

i'm not sure if either of you are right, best day for NQ sucess is the day that is weak to your crystals element (for ww, that would be earths) but for skill ups and HQ, you want the day that is strong to your element (ice). also i think the full moon is best for HQ, but i am not sure.

I've made +1 items before... listen carefully to find out how this works, those of us who are skilled enough to be at a level noticably above the minimum required to make an item have a far elevated chance of making an item that is +1... if you're at the minimum level to make the item, chances are you'll be lucky to even fabricate it at all, let alone an exceptional one.

There are many factors that have been shown to have an influence:
- # of levels above recipe cap you are - day of week (ie: crystal strength or weakness) - moon phase - direction to face (sounds wierd at first, but it's worked for me) - any Guild Point purchased skill +1 items - elemental influence (if you craft in Mog House) - Moghancement
None of these things here involves crossing fingers... they require opening eyes. ^^
