During a linkshell skill-up/farming party, we managed to get a couple coffer keys to drop in Castle Zvahl Baileys. Our LS leader took off running when he found a coffer not too far from us. A minute or so later, he pops the coffer and pulls out a scroll of Mage's Ballad II. Currently going for 2.5 million gil on Fairy server.

Could really use this spell for my bard if i ever lvl it to 55, popped the coffer chest but only got gils, when doing this do i have to disband from pt in order to get it?
No, you don't need to be solo in order to obtain an item from chests or coffers. However, the item will not go directly to you, but will rather be deposited into the party's treasure pool. Hopefully, since it was your key, your party would allow you to lot/obtain the item.
If you don't trust the people you're with (which is sad, but I can understand) it might be better to disband from the party first, especially if you're with a group you don't know.
As far as getting gil goes, it sounds like you just got unlucky. Seems to be about 50/50 between getting gil/items with most other coffers, I would guess this to be the same. Keep trying!

now, is this like Paeon? I know Armys Paeon 3 gives 3hp a tick, but Armys Paeon 2 now gives 3 hp a tick, so is this the same?
No, the base amount of MP restored per tick by Ballad never changes, Ballad 1 will always give 1MP/3sec and Ballad 2 always give 2MP/3sec.
Soul Voice, of course, will affect it, as will the upgraded Relic Horn, but the base MP regen never grows.

I popped the Coffer AND the Chest in Castle Zvazhl with my Thf (wife needs it for her Bard),
No Ballad. Just got gil... And, everyone tells me there's no Chests whatsoever in Keep, just Bailey's..

which means that with both together they = the same amount in which an RDM can give with Refresh spell
And these DO stack with an RDM refresh spell which gives 6mp/3sec..makes it possible for a RDM to be main healer for a NIN tank >.>

The spell Refresh, Refresh-giving items (ie. Yagudo drink, pineapple juice), Mage's Ballad I, and Mage's Ballad II, Auto-Refresh, etc., it's all #mp/3 seconds.

and items like the Vermillion Cloak that give a Refresh effect all stack.

Anyone know the MP refresh per tick? Im guessing a tick is 3 seconds, as it usually is with other refresh items and spells.
Obtained from the Castle Zvahl Keep treasure coffer.
