This would actually be a pretty nice piece for a thf/bst going after really tough NM. Macro the Curtana in for charm...then after the fight you can donate it to your Sky LS and do a Brigandish Blade fight. =)

Lemme clear something up.

This sword has three major uses.

1.) The success modifier for "Steal" is Charisma. CHR+7 means Steal has a much better chance of landing.

2.)One of Dancing Edge's stat modifiers is Charisma.

3.) It's used to spawn Brigandish Blade.

Let me clear some things up for you.

1.) Steal is not dependant on a stat, it's been stated by SE.

2.) You can't use DE with a sword, and don't even think of saying you could offhand this.

3.) This is the only use the sword has.

Why would a THIEF need Charisma?

It sounds like a joke.
Both the item and the question.

Not completely useless...

Actually, the 1 damage is nice if you are trying to raise your sword skill. Find a RDM friend who needs to level his dagger, then go attack insanely IT crabs. RDM sleeps. Then THF equips Curtana and RDM equips Cerimonial Knife. Proceed to beet on the crab for 0 damage.

Never wakes up, and you get skill ups for 0 damage. When sleep wears off, just have RDM repeat the process...

With the new patch, you need to deal at least 1 point of damage to gain a skillup, which renders this item pointless (besides for spawning HNMs.)

I just got sky last night so I looked around and got this sword from a ???, when I did a shout in jeuno ppl told me it is to spawn a nm weapon called Briganndish Blade that drops an item needed to spawn the god hnm Suzaku, other than that this sword is pointless unless a thf feels that 1 dmg and +7 chr would do so much ><

Ok for the ppl who do not know what this item is used for. Its to spawned Brigandish Blade, a NM which drops an item to spawn a god. This weapon is useless in fights, but its used for spawning the weapon

Noone would ever use this in a real fight. CHR doesn't effect Thief abilities. THE ONLY USE of this sword is to pop Brandishing Blade NM which you defeat to get the item to pop Suzaku.

Disproven by Square, they stated that CHR affects only singing skill, charm, and "certain weapon skills" in one of their interviews. They specificly stated that it does not affect enmity.

indeed, I saw this interview as well.

FYI - all weapon skills are affected by their element attribute... fire WS increased by STR, light WS increased by CHR, dark WS increased by all stats at once (or average of all stats)

DEX increases lighting WSs
AGI is wind
VIT is earth
INT is ice
MND is water

you can tell the atribute of a given WS by the color of the icon next to it's name in your WS list.

the impact isn't huge so don't go making a high Mind thief just to increase your viper bite, but if you're a WAR give preferance to fire type WSs

this is mostly useful for farming (Thief w/ Agility based Cyclone for example)

This sword is gained from inspecting a ??? in ve'lugannon palace. It's later traded to another ??? in the same zone to spawn Briganndish Blade, which in turns drops a gem to spawn Suzaku.
This weapon have no other use then that.

So, giving a thf extra cha and enmity should in theory enhance a thf's hate transfer more.

The stats of this weapon probably change when you're in dynamis. There was a thread on the main forum with a link to a relic pages with all the stats. The base weapon was always 1 dmg, but in dynamis it was appreciable damage.

Then there's the fact that all of those weapons are dly999, have relic in their name(in japanese for the ito and ihintanto), and that there's already a relic sword, and that the relic weapons have no stat boosts, and that they don't get better in dynamis until you upgrade them.

Probably not..

Considering the "Curtana" is the pointless Sword of Mercy used in the coronation of Kings of England, it would make sense that this sword would also reflect that in its stats.

Pointless meaning that it's a dull sword, hence the "DMG: 1" and being that its involved with kings and leaders of nations, who typically are portrayed as overly charasmatic people... CHR+7.

No clue on why only a Thief could wear a sword like that though, other than the obvious enmity given. O_o

Edit: Just a thought I had later.. Why would this sword be THF only? Kings == Thieves? XD

CHR does not add to enmity.
