So i will assume that regardless of the sexy stats on this armor, that SH would be preferable?
Im tired of seeing the red harness, as i wear it with my thf...but the eva/acc might still be better than this.
Maybe for afast attacking mobs, the VIT+ and the Spikes would be beneficial, but to everything else i think i will stick with harness.

im kind of new but when it says physical damage: blaze spikes effect, does that mean you automatically have blaze spikes when the chainmail is equiped?

i just soloed one of these nms with my 71 thf. i was aiming to target the bard, (as everyone had recommended to do as he was the easiest one). well after three tries, hitting the bard with acid bolts, i had all three follow me to the Ilfrit's zone. On the last try, i finally decided to fight who ever was last running back. As it turned out to be the monk type (the blue one). Well i fought him good. Casted Jubaku, Hojo, Kurayami. Used bloody bolts, sleep bolts, and acid bolts. Sleep bolts didnt stick. But bloody did. (thank God they did). Anyways, fight was fairly easy, even when he used his 2 hours. Only got hit 3 times out of that fiasco. Anyways, then he started hitting me with Hydro shots..then that's when it got ugly. seeing my Hp in the red, called my NPC for help (lvl 54 Healer). She gave me a few cures and was back in business. Well after a few more Hydro shots, my NPC died. Killed the NM with 200 hp left. Good fight though. I had fun.

Being that I am a 55 Ninja I'm going to have to disagree with you. If Nin's sucked then why is it two nin's and a rdm are one of the best way to do BCNM 40? Oh wait you wouldn't know anything about that because you've never been 40:-P. Try putting a useful post rather than this useless crap next time. The chainmail is decent enough, I'm going to use it until I can afford a Scorp Harness btw. Although I'd take a Master's Gi +1 before this also.

Just got my chainmail last night after a crazy day of coffer hunting. Can confirm that you only need to kill one of the NMs to get the key item, party set up was 51 Nin (me) 51 whm (gf) and 75 pld (LS). I sneak popped the ??? an wait few seconds to find out which was the BRD in the meantime the PLD just voked the cloest one which turned out to be the MNK lol so fun fight! Fight took about 5 mins and by the time it was dead the other 2 had despawned, clicked the ??? and all good. Had a Kuftel tunnel coffer key from XP parties with other Job so just found coffer and headed to Rabao for chainmail :D

just an fyi i tried to do the zone em and solo strat today (03/20/07) after I killed the MNK one I went back to the ??? and it said that nothing was out of the ordinary. :\ Got 3 75 friends and killed all 3 and got my key item. I dont know if SE changed it or what, or maybe i just did something wrong. Thought i'd share ^^

no you have to kill brd slow enough to despawn others. get 3 people lvl 58, i did it with 2 ninjas and a whm, it was easy took about 2 minutes and they despwned in time

Well, when it comes to IT mobs, you want to see the Blaze Spikes effect as little as possable if you know what I mean ... I rarely see the effect go off, even when uts. is down ... If I had to guess, maybe 1/15 hits. I don't know if that's exact or what factors into this firing, but it's really nice when soloing and farming, little extra dmg here and there makes all the difference.
Yeah its nice when youre farming it does like 20 dmg to Too weak mobs lol

I'm gonna hafta go out on a limb here and say that NIN Body AF isn't gained from the RNG AF3 quest.

I did this quest a couple months ago, around level 51 and just put it on this week finally (I'm a ridiculously slow leveler). I just wanna say, yes... I bling in my black gi. ^^; This is arguably one of the coolest looking AF pieces in the game.

should point out that to solo this you don't need to sub smn for carby pull--the NMs won't link I pulled the brd with my standard issue JM's chakram +1 all you need is a silent oil for when you pop 'em then just get far back to pull without getting aggro and you're set
took me about 10~ minutes to do as a 57nin/war I used au' lait and a couple high potions and a jack o' lantern and I got 250 exp for it

This AF3 is a joke, seriously. I soloed this guy as a lvl 55 NIN/SMN. Sneak, hit ??? carby pull the BRD before the WHM has a chance to cast protectra. I used a vile elixer a vile elixer +1 3 hyper potions and about 12 x-potion +1s.
If you have capped ninjitsu, lots of EVA and VIT gear and a buttload of potions you will have no problem killing this guy solo. Kill the one after the other two despawn and the trick box is yours.
Probably the most important advice I can give on this is to keep it enfeebled, keep utsusemi up as much as possible, spam your elemental spells as much as possible and keep your hp up above 500 because you may get a pretty sharp smack from it's WS between utsusemis. Keep that in mind and you'll survive with no trouble at all.

I solod the NM as a 54 NIN/SMN sneaked myself with Silent Oil and touched the "???" and did a Carbipull, the fight was pretty long and sometimes it was very close to my end because of stun but if you watch out its really easy doable.
I don't mind being called extremist, because it reminds me that i have nothing in common with you.

Yo im a Redmage 65, I can solo either
Ninja or Blackmage to it i guess..
and SMN but its only level 12,
What strategy would you suggest if i go do this solo?
Sneak myself and hit the ???, then walk away and let carbuncle pull me that bard? i mean, i can then easily solo it, esp. since im a RDM with Silence/blind/paralyze/slow etc etc..
and can i even solo it as my RDM like i did with NIN AF1? the 2 spiders in Altepa?

I soloed the NM as a lvl 56 NIN/SMN. waited till night for the EVA bonus, used a jackolantern, and a wind staff for the weapon.
I sneaked then hit the ??? pulled the BRD with carby, enfeebled, then nuked the hell out of it with ninjitsu. I should probably note that my ninjitsu is capped, this effects sticking your enfeebles, and I'm not sure but probably the dmg of the elemental spells as well (correct me if i'm wrong). Took about 10 mins to kill it. I used a vile elixer and vile elixer +1 two hyper potions and about 6 or 7 X-potions. It was reletively easy. Didn't bother to summon anything because a lvl 28 smn would probably not be very effective agains a lvl 55-57 NM. Believe it or not, with slow and blind and all the eva enhancement I only used 5 shihei the entire fight.
This is very easy, if I can do it anyone can lol.

Didn't bother to summon anything because a lvl 28 smn would probably not be very effective agains a lvl 55-57 NM. Believe it or not, with slow and blind and all the eva enhancement I only used 5 shihei the entire fight.
This is very easy, if I can do it anyone can lol.

I soloed the NM as a lvl 56 NIN/SMN. waited till night for the EVA bonus, used a jackolantern, and a wind staff for the weapon.
I sneaked then hit the ??? pulled the BRD with carby, enfeebled, then nuked the hell out of it with ninjitsu. I should probably note that my ninjitsu is capped, this effects sticking your enfeebles, and I'm not sure but probably the dmg of the elemental spells as well (correct me if i'm wrong). Took about 10 mins to kill it. I used a vile elixer and vile elixer +1 two hyper potions and about 6 or 7 X-potions. It was reletively easy. Hehe, I just solo'd this today as a 59NIN/WAR. Of course the battle was slightly long but I used sneak to activate ???, then pulled bard to the tunnel near the zone (north east). Debuffed and tanked him like I do any xp PT mob. I used jack o'lantern as food and waited until night time for evasion boost. I didn't have any health potions but I beat the bard with 382/1076. So a good ninja can solo this without being 70+

Oh man, I can't wait to do the quest and get this armor! The Blaze Spikes effect and Enhancing Duel Wield are awsome.
You should be hoping your Blaze Spikes don't come into play very often...
Just wondering, what would be a solid PT to take the 3 NM out? I have heard only full alliances can do it, and I have also head that a single party of 60+ can take em down, one at a time of course. Any information would be greatly appreciated, I WANT THAT ARMOR! ^.^

YES YES YES! Tarutaru has now got his af3 body. Now first you talk to ryoma in norg. He asks for an old trick box. Then you gather at least 3 lvl 65+ melees preferably with one tank at least. Then you grab a few lvl 65+ mages like a few black mage and few white mage. Then you go to yhoator jungle (unsure of pos atm). Clear out the mobs in area for tp and examine the ???. Best to have a mage with smn sub to pull the sahagin 1 at a time since there's 3. Once killed go to ryoma and he tells you to go to rabao and talk to the ninja elvaan in full af. He asks you to go to kuftal and open a coffer chest (took me 5+ hours). You then recieve a key item once opening the chest and then take it back to the ninja in rabao. Get a cutscene then after it you recieve your NINJA CHAINMAIL.

God i can't wait to have this armor on my characters body! I am gonna look so hot and move so fast in the night like a real ninja. Ill be running throught the Valkrim Dunes so all the younger ninjas or other people can stand there, for the good half a second they see me, with their jaws on the keyboard.^^

So in the end when you have all 3 dual wildes,and this armo it would have the delay of 1 sword for both of them?or just tons faster than it used to be?
At level 65 with this armor you'll probably have about 300 delay.

what does it mean enhances it?and how come you get dual wiled as an ability like 3 times?
When you first get dual wield, the delay of the two weapons is pretty much added together between dual swings. So, with the first dual weild, you really aren't going any faster and it's mostly useful for carrying two weapons with stat boosts on them. The later 2 dual wields decrease the delay for having two weapons.
