as soon as you can craft it, you can hq it. Your chances are just very very low. They don't sell very often, because the jobs that can equip it, have much better equips for that slot. Wars, Drks, and Thf's should be using xbow and hitting it with acids. Pld gets Rosenbogen, Bst has jugs, Rng will use anything else, Sam should be using War Bow +1 and Rdm should have a tathlum. Making these pretty useless.

This bow isn't for the damage, the stats are pretty much for melee classes that want the +3 dex from the HQ version. The NQ sells for dirt cheap because just like amemet mantle or any other high ticket item like that NQ = loss HQ = gain.

This will allow you to use the stat boosts on both items at the same time. Unfortuantely, the answer is No. If you equip the lightning bow, then equip the bomb core (for example), the lightning bow will automatically unequip. If you then try to re-equip the bow, the core will unequip automatically.
You simply cannot equip both at the same time.

Nope because the bomb core is a throwing range weapon so you need something with word "arrow" after it attack with the lightning bow. Plus you cant shoot with rocks or a bomb, cuz bombs explode and you'd kill yourself.

I may be wrong, but this seems like a good bow for my rdm, since as far as I know the dex oughta help my sword as well. If so then this is the only bow that also helps me, and for 20k (Sylph) it seems like a really good deal. If I'm wrong please tell me, but otherwise this bow leaves me room to buy a nice mnd+ ring. One other question, can this be equipped with the tathlums? This and a phantom tathlum would make nice additions to my rdm ability bonuses (Int and dex being to me my 2 more important stats. Please dont chew me out, its bad enough when rdm-haters bug me, I dont need ppl telling me what to do as well). Anyway, this post has gone on long enough, so I leave you to continue your FFXI research.

Sold this today on Bahamut for 20k and bought the +1 for 165k. The price has dropped down over 40k recently so I took advantage of that while I could.

as a general rule, if your server has a lot of JP, you can only profit by making +1 synths. on servers with few JP (and thus few lv100 crafters), you can profit by simply doing HL synths. sux to be on gilgamesh... :( (or midgardsormr apparently)

I was looking for a farming bow for my THF, and the Kaman looked to be a good choice. However, I looked in the Jeuno AH, and noticed that the Kaman +1 was about 5k cheaper than the normal Kaman.
Why, you ask? Because the Kaman is used to make this bow, the Lightning Bow.
To answer your question, the Lightning Bow goes for about 40k on Midgardsormr, while the +1 goes for about 280k.
