How to obtain this item.
# Nov 09 2006 at 12:52 PM Rating: Good
There doesnt seem to be any clear guide as to how to obtain this so far, so I'll include info I used in obtaining this item

In Cape Terrigan, Go to F-7 to a cave, then head to H-5 from there. This doesn't show on the map so just hug right all the way from F-7.Be aware that there are mobs in this area that aggro both sight and sound, right up to level 75, so you may want to either go as whm or /whm for sneak invis, or take along some oils and powders for safetys sake. Find the headstone at this location, and trade a rain lily, for a short cutscene and the reward of a flagellants rope. Please note :In order to obtain this item, you must have previously completed the cape terrigan NM fight portion of ZM5 (which also involves this headstone.

it does have a use ;)

i actually use this all the time. it's great for solo use when i get paralyzed trying to kill an EP or DC enemy. I just equip that belt and it's instant haste. for a thf with a crossbow, triple attack and dual wield, the extra hits between paralysis are invaluable. someone gave me this item for free and it has come in VERY handy!

There is no North American documentation of the quest to obtain this item that I know of so here's what I found on the net with the help of a rough translator.

Start conditions: A prayer of the wind of a TERIGAN cape is taken with the missions "an ancient monument pilgrimage" of a frontier district.

Reward: Flagellant's Rope

Title Obtained: The ãJŽ‚ person beyond the time

Instructions: The soul of the knight who wanders about a TERIGAN cape. Does it carry out and is there any ‚¸‚ß‚é method? It will end, if a Rain Lily (item) is traded with Cermet Headstone of a TERIGAN cape.

Hope this helps...

Note: There is no activation NPC apparently. You just need to reach a certain place and trade an item or start an action.

I think it's that if you're paralyzed, well, that sucks, sometimes your actions get stopped. But with this, while your paralyzed, your actions can still be stopped, but you'll do better with haste. I'm not sure if it's worth not getting a paralyna for 8%, but still, if a paralyna isn't readily available and for whatever reason haste is, it's nice. In general, I'd tend to agree with the original statement, that this is mostly useless.

I think you'll find that it is not useless. Paralyzed isn't the same as petrefied. You can still act, but sometimes your actions are interrupted due to paralysis. Since I'm a ranger and use a slow war bow, I often lose my shot because paralysis kicks in. If haste makes me shoot faster, then there is a better chance I'll get my shot off before paralysis stops me. I >think< this information is accurate anyway.

I think the way Paralysis works is that it goes off right before an action occurs, which is why mages will get to like 60-70 percent of a spell cast before paralyzed, and why you will be paraylyzed right before you attack/fire your bow... so I don't think haste will save you from that, it will just make it so paralyze activates earlier ^^; so it'd only be good if you were very lightly paralyzed so it only kicked in every now and then

Correct, the point of this is for either farming (when EP< mobs paralyze you) or if you are a nin (per say) and you are paralyzed in combat, you equipt this, and use it until the mage unparalyzes you (I have gone 3 battles before {Paralyna} {Please} actually illicited a response...) I am currently looking into investing into one of these... sounds cheap enough (only on ZM4)

Anyways, I am going to have to try this with a paralyze potion (funny thing is, the potion is used to make stun weapons... not paralyze weapons... go fig...)
