Dark Knight must have?
# Apr 27 2006 at 10:46 AM Rating: Decent
The STR and DEX bonus are an obvious plus and I haven't found any other gear this level that gives +3 in both of these stats. The Royal Squires gloves gives you 2 ACC but I've been told to keep these gloves to get the STR bonuses too. My question is, at what level should I replace these and what should I replace them with?

As a Hume Melee these gloves are an absolute must. Battle gloves are another great companion along these, will greatly improve Acc if you keep missing with these M Gloves. As a Melee'r I usually carry 2 sets of equipment or pieces of equipment STRENGTH & ACCURACY. That way if I need to get the Mob's attention I pile all my STR on (which steals hate immediately, i actually have to gimp myself). And Acc is a godsend for all that STR that keeps missing. Having 2 sets helps me balance myself so I don't get to much aggro and waste the Mana Pool on mages.
use these til when?

Hmmm. Noone here seems to point out how useful these gloves are, they're a Low ACC melee's best friend (3 STR/DEX, +12 HP, +4 MP, -1 VIT/AGI), These gloves are a THF's best friend, since SA is based on DEX (Having the right gear, SATA's deadly :P), while SAM's and MNK's get the advantages of the Gigas Braclets w/out giving up DEX and AGI (You save yourself 2 AGI thanks to these gloves). All and all, I just wanted to point out the uses of the gloves, -p-

Heck yah. +3 STR and +3 DEX. My THF loves these. Any melee DD should love these if they are Male Hume. Apparently a lot of people know this, because they are rather expensive on AH. Worth every gil, or the time to do the quest to get them.
rookie mistake

Does anyone know how much fame exactly and in what towns? I'm getting this guy telling me to scram too. I thought it was Jeuno fame so I started doing Jeuno quests but that didnt help any. So if you know what towns fame you need for this... that would really help, thanks.

In order to recieve this quest i had to gain enuf fame in 2 major cities. First my home city of Bastok, I did 24 bubbly bernie runs, 36 treant bulb runs, and finished 14 other quests. Second i raised fame in San d'oria. For this i traded 6 stacks of bat wings in Northern San d'Oria to the NPC. I made my way to Jeuno to talk with Guttrix, who found me worthy enuf to give me the quest. I hope this helps.

There are certain days/areas that races have. Maybe you have to wait for your day to come ^^ there are calculators that tell you. don't worry.

If he told you to scram, then you mustn't have enough fame. I am hume and I got the quest while it was the mithra's turn, but I can wait til it is the hume's turn and go where the magical pattern would appear for me. In other words, you can get the quest anytime if you have the fame, just wait until it is your race + gender's turn and go where you are assigned.

The Goblin Tailor is in lower jueno. Go through Muckvix's junk shop and down the hall into the Goblin Goblet. The goblin named Guttrix is the tailor.
