Wouldn't slapping Regen on a WAR be more useful?

its not about being the only one with it, its about it being probably the best body armor in the game and wearing because it makes you stronger

this is like the best body in game imo its soo bad ass

War has (adaman)hauberk
Mnk its decent for. best equip for chi blast, but Shura Togi is probably better for tp/ws.
Bst has same as war, since most of them want to be doing damage.
Brd has AF+1, which is basically the same as this.
Rng has no better equip. Archers Jupon is decent for exp, but osode would beat it. Next closest is AF1, and 10racc can not get close to matching this.
Sam has hauby and Byrnie, which will do much better for them then this.
Nin its also good for, but they can use Hauby for dd if they need it, and SH if they need to evade.

It should definitely go to Rng's first. It may be a little biased, because i'm a rng, but there is no other equip in the game that can even come close for a rng.

I definitely agree with Gyfford. Now I may be biased because I'm a bard, but BRD and BST get almost nothing from HNM - BRD can get Genbu's shield, and compete with BLM/RDM/WHM/SMN to get zenith (which, unless you're addicted to MP, isn't that useful except for the slacks). BST can get Adaman and Heca gear, which seems alright for DDing in XP parties but certainly doesn't have the soloing capability of the Osode. So really, NONE of the god/HNM gear is "better" for these two jobs as opposed to the other jobs that could wear them. That still doesn't change the fact that the Osode is arguably the BEST body piece that these two jobs can wear.

Both BRD and BST serve their purpose in HNM shells, yet by our MNK friend's logic, they shouldn't get any gear at all because other jobs can use it "more." So all the Zenith should go to the RDM/WHM/BLM/SMN, Heca to the DRG/THF, Adaman to the WAR/DRK, etc. So it's ok for us to help you get your endgame gear, but not get any ourselves? :/

I'm sure when most people are upgrading endgame gear, the first question on their minds is "what can I do to make myself the BEST <insertjobhere> that i possibly can?" Well for BRD and BST, part of the answer to that is the Osode. It may not help us to dish out a huge Chi Blast or a 1500 dmg WS, but it still helps us to do our job better - which is all it really does for all of the jobs that can wear it. As one of the few worthwhile pieces that BRDs/BSTs can get, why shouldn't we be able to spend our hard-earned points on it? After all, we've worked for it too...

And I think Gyfford is being optimistic that BRD/BST will get gear 3 years down the road if they pass on it for all the jobs that can use it "more." New DD are constantly being added to HNM shells... how about "never" for a more realistic assessment.

Now as far as Chi Blast goes, yeah, the Osode is awesome... every 3 minutes. XD Seems like a Shura Togi would be best for most xp situations though, whereas for a BST who both DDs and charms (and maybe even kites Kirin o.O), and a BRD who pulls/debuffs/sleeps (and maybe stands in front of grand dragons to ballad tanks O.o), this is a 24/7 piece. And of course, 2 MND etudes on the MNK would do a whole lot more than the Osode - so maybe telling your BRDs they don't "deserve" the best gear they can get is not the smartest thing in the world...

Elements on gears are defenses, and only defenses.

i really dont think u should be speaking for other jobs. :P You do not need ultimately one piece of armor for the rest of the game. (example) an adaman hauberk may seem like the best stats fitted for WAR, but an osode can provide more for other things that Hauberk cant, WS variables on Steel Cyclone, more enmity from ur provoke. Each peice of gear serves a certain/different purpose.

Here's an explanation so that u may understand better the uses for these equipments. Cuz u missed some of the more important aspects of Osode for some jobs.




DEX has nothign to do with rng acc, DEX is to melee acc and crit hits, as AGI is to rng acc and rng crit hits. Although rng acc isnt the biggest issue, rngs are more concerned about rng att. Sidewinder is STR & AGI based. AF body and AF+1 body may look real nice, but not everyone has Limbus access, and you also will not find a body piece that will help with rng att(+STR), rng acc(+AGI), and holy bolt add effect dmg(+MND) all in one.



samurai have two armor sets, one for melee while gaining TP(DEX,ATT,ACC), and one for ws's(STR). SAM's endgame WS's are 75% STR based, if i were to WS without all the gear i switch in for STR, it would come 300-500 short of when i put in my STR gear in normally. Hcnm Domaru is 8 STR, and Osode is 10. On the note of shura togi,when I melee, i prefer brute STR over ATT.



NIN ws factors are DEX and STR, and CHR helps provoke provide a more powerful enmity, also the +INT helps out for ninjitsu.



I hope that rearranges how you saw other jobs priorities on an Osode vs other gear or other jobs. Osode is just as important to one job, as it is to another.

First of all, this is not the Culverin page. Second, you think way to highly of yourself. No (good)HNMLS is gonna take a "OMG IM SO FREAKIN' UBER, I OWN ALL" dumbass like you. You think way to highly of yourself, take a pill or something.

Um... If by "meant for monks" you mean, meant for anyone that can wear this sure.

It's just too bad that when you /thf, you lose the ability to modify your SA dmg and TA dmg with DEX and Vit, respectivly. All ytou get to do is Land your WS (almost w/o fail, unless the mob moves) and Transfer hate.
