0/1 i found sophie for the first time and nothing but a beehive chip but i hope to get this my thief needs it lol heres taking a shot in the dark

Any place on 2nd or 3rd lvl where a Maneating Hornet can spawn, you can find NM, I have been the only one around here for hrs... only fought it 2x.. Only Got Chips
and honey... I want to get this dagger, so I can start lvling my 7thf ..
People who camp NMs ONLY to sell drops are no better than GS. People need this gear and do not want to spend your prices.

I could have sworn, back in '04, I got this off a bee in sarutabaruta. Did maybe SE originally have this as a rare bee drop, then move it later to an NM?

Whats the spawn time for this bad boy(girl)? Whats the going price now?

Level 11 warrior
I couldnt use my 2 hour tho
Cause i used it on lizzy
Who also killed me
Not a good day for me
But i'[ll have my revenge on them both when im higher level =P

Well, I had to use 2 Hr with my Lvl 11 Mnk, but I killed Sophie and got the drop.

Now I have to level up Thief so I can use it! Mebbe I will use it with Ninja, but the damage output is a concern, even with the delay being so good.

Red Mage + Beestinger/Hornetneedle + En-spells = whee.

I got this today and I have to say its amazing. If at all possible any THF should get this, you generally get 2 attacks for every 1 attack recived. Much less headache lvling THF now, it made Decent Chalenge monsters considerably easyer.^^

This things running for over 12k on Alexandere, like ne pre 20 Thf is gonna want to blow 15k on something like tis. Granted is a good wpn and i REALLY want one, but whoever put it upfor 15k needs to be slapped honestly....

i tried hunting this thing once or twice...but its not really expensive on sylph (7-9k) so it didnt seem worth spending hours on....


Anyway, i was camping it one time on the second lvl of the Mt., and some samuri comes up to me and asks me if im camping sophie, i say yes...cuz its true...and he tells me: "its not worth it, you might as well leave". well, i dont really like being told what to do, so i just stayed there killing bees, and lookin for sophie. then i get another tell a few mins later saying "are you still camping sophie?" and again i say yes, and he says, "i told you to leave". Im thinking, "what an @$$" so i stay and keep killing, yada, yada....then the samuri comes down and spams me with tells "Leave now you f------ she mine!" I was here first!" Get out of here!" and he wouldnt leave me alone! so i turn of tells in the filter menu and decide to leave if this guys gonna be a jerk...i was near the ramp to the first floor when i did one last wide scan (41(whm/rng for wide scan) and right behind me was sophie! mustve spawned just after i ran by! so i kill it...no drop...but i got the satisfaction of making the @$$#*!& samuri wait for somthing that wont show......simple joys...

This is a great weapon. when I was a little noob (I'm just a little bigger noob now) I saw it at the AH and, not really knowing what it was, bid a measly 1500 on it. Well, someone was very dissapointed after that, because I got it. I still have it, though I stopped using in favor of a sword, but I'll go back to it when I start to level my other characters that can use it. Definetely one of the best purchases I ever made.

On bahamut server mine was purhcased with 6000 gil still doesnt seem like a bad price to me. This is a great dagger i suggest any dagger using people aquire this fancy piece whenever they can. The 150 delay brought back memories of double attack if that seems in any way possible. The +1 DEX +1 AGI only bumps up the jobs natural stat so this weapon will make any job feel well at home for a few levels anywho.

Okay, I spent the better part of my game time over the weekend camping this damned hornet.. Here's my experience.

Stinging Sophie can spawn the ENTIRE length of the 2nd tier of Zegham Hill. The southeast side where the ramp is from the 1st tier all the way to the north side where the ramp is up to the 3rd level. I killed her SIX times, and every time she was in a different area. The first time she was right next to the 3rd level ramp, the second time she was all the way in the corner next to the first level ramp, every time after that she was in between.

Five of the six times I saw here, it was between 05:00 and 12:00. I was almost certain she was a morning only NM, but the last time she spawned at about 17:00. Two of the times she spawned it was on Iceday.

My method was to run from one end of the 2nd level to the other end, killing ANY hornets I saw. It took an average of about an hour to find her each time.

The first 5 times, she did not drop the beestinger! It was getting personal, also I was making mucho gil farming that's the only reason I hung around lol. The sixth time she dropped it. This was with my thf sub at level 7 and my fortune egg equipped. Bad luck I guess?

She went down fast to my level 18 warrior. I don't think the final sting has anything to do with the drop, since when she finally did drop the beestinger she had used final sting.

Anyway, after all was said and done I had harvested over 10 stacks of beehive chips and about 6-7 stack of honey.. Not only that but after finding her the 4th time with no beestinger I bought it, so now I have two and will have one to sell.

So after ~7 hours of camping I found ONE 7k rare, and made +40k in items. lol I actually feel like I accomplished something!

i bought it for 4500 at lvl 6 for my theif used it till 13 then bought a dagger

but thf is merely my subjob and in 2 levels ill be going bak to WAR should i sell it now and get about 5000 gil?

This was the first NM I ran into. I was a lvl 15 thf. Unfortunatly I went into the fight weakened from my earlier bouts... It was a close fight but she took me in the end. I'll be back though

best weapon till you hit lvl15 and need to kill snappers, then it's useless.......

Should i use this or a dagger?

lvl 24 thief i fought her recenetly and killed her but no drop i think she has massive amounts of energy from what i saw she didnt have much evasion and she always hits for about 4-7 dmg im a lvl 24 thief mind u with the best equimpent possible

Just got walloped by Stinging Sophie. As far as I can tell, I came upon her just as she spawned. She Spawns right near the entrance to the second tier of Zegham Hill in north gustaberg. I has just reached level 11 and came across her, and figured I'd take a shot at winning another beestinger(its what im currently using and it rocks). Anyways, she was smacking me for 11hp a hit, and a Gobo Thug aggro'ed on me, so i got slaughtered and lost my level. Watch out for her folks, I'd probly try her again at Level 13. She didnt seem too tough, but she had very high evasion.
