Should probably add that they can be obtained with Chocobo Digging (A25 I believe).

Just wondering if there is a web site that gives all the recipes to grow all this. Wish it would have came in the FFXI book. Guess it is something that nobody really figures out...

The price for Earth ore on my server goes from 130-175k.. the prices for most of them are the same so if you think that you aren't getting enough gil from this then don't come to phoenix we get ripped off for everything on the AH. .,but it's still worth it if you're into farming it's pretty simple to gain a profit if you can GROW the things, which is the hardest part. I've tried Fire ores, for example, and didn't plant on darksday. I planted on firesday, gave crystals on firesday, and harvested on firesday. One pots gave me cinnamon sticks, the other fire ore. I used two porcelain pots.

So someone told you how to do it, and/or you read about it somewhere online, etc. ... but, now that YOU know, you think you can tell others not to talk about the same thing in similar ways? Go mount yourself.

i was posting some replys to this and i noticed some things some people missed that i have heard.

Use Porchlin pots on maple table and plant tree saplings on Darks day with the smallest moon possible. Feed them the crystals for which ore you want (Fire for fire wind for wind ect.)

I never heard anything about which day to give them crystals on but it makes sence to plant them on the same element day like Azna Sage said before. (Fire on firesday, wind on windsday ect.)

This is where i get confused. I've heard from many people to harvest them on Darksday with 100% moon or as close as possible (within 10%) but i have also heard to plant them on the same day as the ore planted.. :/ both make sence so i'm not sure which to do but i'm using darksday right now and it seems to be working i will try the elements day soon to see which results are better.

I think many people are finding out about this cause on my server (Gilgamesh) they have dropped in price A lOT, but its still worth my money so i'm going to keep doing it:D Oh and if your a new person to doing this don't start with just 1 pot you may get very disapointed. To do this good you'll need to plant 10-12 pots of tree saplings. On my server to start it up it costs 130k - 60k for 12 pots, 60k for 12 tree saplings then 10k for the table. so get ready to spend alot to be rich

I am currently growing light ore. I'm pretty sure the first post is right. If u are growing Earth ore, u want to feed it earth crystals, on earthday. Then harvest it on earthday.

Ok The Elemental ores are all obtainable through 3 ways. FIRST: is BCNM 60. Simply put, win the battle and you may get one.

The next 2 are much better methods for the poor player, however.

SECOND: CHOCOBO DIGGING

You have to get your chocobo digging skil;l up to a considferable level to do this (yes chocobo digging is like a guild with 10 skill lvls)
visit www.cannotlinkto/ffxi and click the chocobo digging section. It lists what can be dug there.

LAST and BEST BY FAR is GARDENING
the recipie is as follows.

You will need a PORCELIN POT + TREE SAPLING (note this is NOT cutting but sapling). Simply plant the seed in the porcelin pot in the mog house (preferably on dark day since that is the seeds element) and then add 2 crystals of the desired elementak ore color (IE: fire crystals for fire ore and wind crystals for wind ore) on the day of the crystal element. Then harvest on the elemental day of the ore you are going for and you will hopefully have your elemental ore. Btw these ALL sell for over 200K (so much for Leaping Lizzy hunting).

The downside of this method is as folows. You are not guarenteed an ore EVERY time. There IS a chance of getting lesser results (as with al;l gardening). And the biggie is that it takes approximately a REAL LIFE MONTH to grow these so don't do only one. Have a few going at once so that if one pot fails maybe another will succeed.

I have PERSONALLY grown a water/fire/ice/wind/earth ore and have yet to attempt the light/dark/lightning

so this DOES work. I now have 8 million gil from this with 6 mules over the past 3 months so i don't need the secret anymore. Plainly put it WORKS...albeit a little slow and not 100%. DO IT it is your road to riches :).

I Have only grown one earth ore ever, haven't tried but about 10 times, I usually get Iron Nuggets, probably because I just miss the moon phase most of the time >.<. Oh yeah, a month to grow???? It has only ever taken me a week at most! RL time that is. Why does the flower pot matter, just wondering? Is there some special characteristic with each type of pot or something?

LOL been growing Ores of all kinds for a year and a half now...if you are getting your yield in a week, then you are not growing Ores. They take 3 real-life weeks. Time to examine what you are doing wrong...

What pot are you using? A week? That's kinda hard to believe. I've been growing stuff for about 2 months now. Tree cutting take about 12 days for me. The Tree saps have been growing for 22 days and are now blooming (RL time that is). Herb seads take about 2-3 days. I check about 3 times a day (or more), 8-9 hour spreads. (Yes I am dedicated). I have an Arcane pot & many Brass & Porc. pots. Please let me know what your using. Thanks!!
