setting wedding dates
# Feb 16 2005 at 3:36 PM Rating: Decent
It seems alot of you have already had the ceremony. I have been trying to have mine for two months now, and can't get a date with POL. Do you have any suggestions, and if y'all had this trouble, how long did it take before you finally landed a date?

Female Only
# Oct 11 2004 at 5:39 PM Rating: Default
I think it's kinda gay that the dress is female only. There needs to be a Male Suit. A Black (or White) Tuxedo. and same cost 50k I would buy it, for the Dress looks nice.

1. You do not have to be married IRL to get married in game. The in game thing is just a fun little get together with friends mostly.

2. Wedding Gear is rare/ex and can only be purchased right before the ceremony. It's 50k for the set. Females only.

3. The reason why they cost so much is that Squeenix is making ways to help keep the player market deflated.

before the wedding ceremony you talk to an NPC
you pay him the gil
he gives you the dress
and the equipment
you dont get the rings untill the ceremony
but you HAVE to have a different person send in the application
how you send in the application is before you click on play,
scroll down and click on Compendium
it has a whole thing about the ceremonies
hope this helps

Actually it isn't an NPC that gives it to you, it is a GM. Also in my experience I got the ring and the dress at the same time, both were just before the ceremony. So we had the rings before the ceremony and just made believe we excanged them. We didn't equip them until the GM told us to durring the ceremony.
Money
# Aug 08 2004 at 9:17 PM Rating: Default
Man the money they charge for the whole wedding is outragious I'm not planning to get married any time soon just I met a nice girl on the game and we started talking about it. What really sucks is your going to have to get the dress cause the girl will want it and then you have to pay for it you lucky sob =)!
RE: Money
# Nov 06 2004 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
#1 reason mine stopped was... they wanted this...
Whole thing w/ this would have Cost 130k
I had 70k worth of Armor + 10k
:P I was NOT gonna do this w/o armor
and they wanted me to Pay for it...
Sad, isn't it?
I still wonder... what would it have been like?...
Smiley: cry I wish I had seen it...
FYI: Humes and Mithras look... Smiley: jawdrop

I think that the the *** players have to prove that they r married IRL, not american players.
I know someone who just got married in the game
she didnt have to show she was married IRL....
o well
maybe it has something to do with the *** religion.
anyway..
I am getting married ^^
YIPPEEE
it costs 50k for the wedding gear
and the cost of the ceremony depends on how big u want the wedding to be,
if u want a small wedding (5 people) it costs 20k
if u want medium wedding (10 people)
it costs 30k

Males receive a RARE/EX item called a Wedding Ring. There really needs to be a tuxedo though, Square-Enix really f-d that one up.

Ok, to clear this up. I looked up the info when getting married. No, you do not need to have form of proof to get married. That Japanese friend of yours either lied or doesn't know himself. You DO need a Chaperone (however it's spelled) to filled out the application FOR the couple in order to get married.

So how are the wedding equipment distributed and how much is the male set, I read that the femaleis around 50k or so.

"So how are the wedding equipment distributed and how much is the male set, I read that the femaleis around 50k or so."

The Bride, Groom, and Chaperone have to appear at the ceremony an hour before it is supposed to go off. There they pay for the wedding and if they opted to get the wedding set, it is gived to the female character then.

And yes, the bride keeps the wedding set. It cannot be sold/traded/synthed/lit on fire/sacrificed/eaten/dyed/or anything else these jokers have come up with. And NO, it is not the Opaline set either, no matter how much they look alike. The only Wedding Dress is the "Wedding Dress".

And guys get nothing but a ring. And there are two options for that.

Males don't get an outfit, we are married in whatever we are wearing (try to make it look good guys). The laddies need to pay 50k to rent/buy this, but they don't have to, it's Optional.

They need to put in a tux for the guys. We could look cool smacking around big mobs like Doom Scorps and whatnot while wearing a tux. ^^

So in order to get married in the game you have to be married in real life? hm..well..okay....^^;; why do they need to know that, but a mere game..anyone who thinks this is real life O.o well...heh. And also, does anything special happen when you get married?

level requirement to get married is lv 20. there are different areas to get married in each city, and the price varies depending upon the area that you choose and how many guests you invite (ranges from 20k-80k) the set of wedding armor costs 40k and is not required to get married. in order to sign up, you have to fill out a form in the ffxi compendium and hope that you get your date =) more info is in the compendium. hope this helps ^^
