when you get married, or choose to get married, the person who is setting up the wedding for you, a friend has to do it, the bride and groom cannot, you can choose to get this in part of it, the wedding gear set costs around 80k. Have been married since August of last year ^^

When you get married do you control your character or is it a c/s? and what really happens in the wedding?
I'm getting married in december, so i just wanted to know ^^

When you get married do you control your character or is it like a c/s where you don't control them?
I'm getting married in December and i was just wondering how the wedding goes ^^
still there?

I was recently looking through the wedding information section and I couldn't find the part about the dress set. I know for sure it -used- to be there.. was it taken out or I just missed it?
still there?

A suggesting from my ingenius LS leader (I heart you Udu!)...

Since wedding costs can be ghastly expensive and if you're wanting to have a large wedding (especially something along the lines of LSE, which is what I am going to attempt), just go for the small wedding if you're hard up for the wedding dress and rings then just schedule a 2nd big "unofficial" wedding with friends or LS at whatever location and time you desire.

The Santuary of Zi'tah seems like a nice place for an "unofficial" wedding lovebirds! Even someplace simple like La'theine Plateau would be fetching. Or maybe an islander wedding in Kazham! The possiblities are endless ^^.

Bride to be: Ayria
Groom: Aquaflare
the time should be changed
# Jul 23 2006 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
It really ux that the times are only 2, 5 and 7 PM. My little brother wants too get married so bad, but he cant cuz he lives in europe. Where the times are 24, 2 and 4 AM. thx SE fre not having european GMs that can do this. And about the application. Ive seen people that needed too wait 8m months because they kept losing the lottery. There should be a queue, like. I want too marrie, and when its almost youre turn, you can pick a date.
the time should be changed
# Aug 21 2006 at 1:35 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry about that, but I was suppose to wait 5 months before getting married, and they replaced my wedding with another wedding, and gave us our wedding 2 days later >.> I was kinda p/o, but hey, if you love a person, you shouldnt get mad about not getting married in a couple of days eh? Real weddings actually take a long time to prepare, and its very troublesome, also Weddings are SE being nice... If they were being rude, they wouldnt even allow weddings...so dont blame SE that there isnt any European people that want to be a GM for them, that isnt their problem, its the europeans fault for not wanting to be a GM...SE isnt racist like that, they just have to have a person that has a good application for the job...DUH!!!!!

Opaline set is level 40 - Craftable, Sellable, Tradeable etc.

Wedding outfit is RARE/EX and is level 20.
You get this from actually getting married ingame.
But the wedding ring is level 1.

These are NOT the same item. For the millionth time.

And the wedding only can be a different gender marriage.
And im sure there are no "special" weddings that will be given if people are in the epidemic of having the same sex character.
Make a new one and get it to 20 is all i cant say.

To clear this up, since noone READS POSTS...
You do not get the wedding eq, unless you marry someone. It's female only(Duh). Unfortunately men don't get anything but a ring. Me and my hubby got married in Court's Manor, we had only 1 guest... It was a very lovely ceremony though.

Anyway yeah, just thought I'd point out the wedding eq stuff. Good luck to all.

Ok. i may sound big headed for this but i got the answers to everyones problems (at least for the Van Diel Wedding) i found out exactly how it works. this may take awhile to explain....

1) You must have a Chaperone. Its basically the Best Man (or woman, can be any race/sex). Basically just pick a friend who you know will be at the wedding. Very important for the Chaperone to show up. The reason you have to start with a Chaperone is because the Wife nor the Husband can file for a Wedding Application, it must be done by the Chaperone.
2) The Chaperone needs the names of the 2 to be wed and the names of the main weapon they carry (example: Obelisk Lance). Its for the ceremony. No money is required yet.
3) The Chaperone then goes to the screen after the main screen that allows you to check your Playonline mail, buddy list, etc. The Screen has a "Play" button on it. You normally go here to enter into the game and pick your character. Instead of hitting "Play", scroll down to "Compendium". This will bring you to a screen with about 5-6 options in a circle. spin the circle to Wedding. In here will be various options with further information about the wedding and at the bottom will be the "Application". Click on "Application" and fill in all the required information.
4)Once the application has been sent, the GM will let you know when the wedding will be. they will inform you of the Time, Place, and Date.
5) ONE HOUR BEFORE the wedding starts, the bride, groom and chaperone must meet the GM at the wedding locale. they will go over the ceremony, write the vows, and buy the wedding dress. the wedding dress is 50k and can only be bought at this time. it is not required to be married and can not be sold back. there is no tux for the guys, sorry. just to put your minds at ease, the opaline dress is NOT the wedding dress. the wedding rings will be given out at this time too. all guests of the wedding will receive Fireworks for after the wedding and will be able to use them and use emotes to celebrate.
6) Once the wedding is over, its over. Thats it. No sharing of mog house, no exp, no money or increased skills. Just married. Oh, and you got the ring to show u did it.

Now that we have that out of the way... Lets fill in all the blanks.

-Weddings can only be held Wednesday-Sunday. For some reason you can NOT get married on Monday or Tuesday. Tell your Chaperone what day and date you want to get married. Your application will be returned in a week, if not then resend the application.
-Times to get married are 2PM, 5PM, and 7PM Pacific Standard Time (PST). You can ONLY get married at one of these times. Tell your Chaperone what time you want to get married.
-The rings: Your wedding rings can be engraved in one of 2 ways... Either with initials or names. Example: Jeff and Sue are to be married. the rings can say: grooms ring: StoJ bride: JtoS meaning Sue to Jeff and Jeff to Sue. or the grooms ring can say Sue, and the brides would say Jeff. Either way, tell your Chaperone how u want it BEFORE he puts in the application.
-As for your level, the 2 to be wed must be at least level 20. Not my rules, just has to be.
-All guests must be on time. Any big distractions during the wedding will cancel the wedding. Also if guests are late the wedding may be cancelled.

Locales and their cost:
-First off, to reutter, the dress is bought in the HOUR BEFORE the wedding. it is 50K but not essential to get married. there is NO tux. and the chaperone must have the money to pay for it. the bride nor the groom can buy the wedding dress or pay for the wedding. The costs below are rental costs and do not include the dress.

Ok, so where do you want to get married...

San d'Oria
Counts Manor: Guests-10 Cost-20k
Counts Manor Courtyard: Guests-36 Cost-80k
Chateau d'Oraguille: Guests-18 Cost-30k
*the Chateau requires minimum San d'Orian citizens to be Rank 2 and Bastok or Windhurst residents to be Rank 3 to enter the Chateau.

Bastok
Metalworks: Guests-10 Cost-20k
Port Bastok: Guests-36 Cost-80k
Lighthouse: Guests-36 Cost-80k

Windhurst
Orastery: Guests-10 Cost-20k
Acolyte: Guests-36 Cost-80k
Rhinostery Guests-18 Cost-30k

Jueno
Temple of the Goddess: Guests-20 Cost-80k

There is a chance you can be married elsewhere. When filling out the application you can put in an alternative site. Its the GMs choice if that is an ok locale for the wedding. Restrictions include heavy traffic areas like the Auction House or places with lots of fighting going on. If you must get married somewhere else, ask the GM and if its ok then go by these prices. Remember, only a certain amount of people may be able to fit into your locale. The GM should specify the number of guests you may invite.

Guests: 3-10 Cost: 20k
Guests: 11-18 Cost: 30k
Guests: 19-36 Cost: 80k

I believe thats it. any questions just post a reply. and i'll try to get you an answer.

just a quick question, although i believe i already know the answer: can a galka marry a male taru? my girlfriend's character is a galka and i am a male taru.
RE: quick question
# Apr 24 2005 at 7:30 PM Rating: Good
No, I'm afraid not...

When you apply for the wedding, there is a "groom" selection that is limited to Galka, M Hume, M Taru, M Elvaan.

Then there is a "bride" selection that is limited to Mithra, F Hume, F Taru, F Elvaan.

Sorry ;;

My rl wife is marrying someone else in game. (Weird I know) Is the best man the only one who stands up with them or does she get to have someone as well? Also are there ushers allowed? If she does get to have someone else must her "Maid of Honor" so to speak be a girl? Her best friend is a guy lol. THanks for clarification on the dress, I was afraid I'd be farming for years to pay for her wedding.
