hey all, my LS and some helpers just did a party for 2 keys. We killed a lot but we had a 75 rdm helping out. It took 2 hours, the first key dropped really quick. the last one at the end, of course ;p We were on the center island, maybe that has better drop rate.
Ummm, I feel kind of stupid, but we also had two high level thieves with us. That probably helped a lot!!

went with full alliance tonight with LS and another alliance also from LS. We were there for 10 hours two people actually leveled before we got a key drop >.< . We were in davoi for about 150 kills the thiefs TH didnt do anything 'cept help with the testimony drops....after that we went inside for a few hours by that time out 2 full alliances were down to just 9 people total...finally got one drop which i happened to win the lot one (^*^x) and i got me a fancy new coat after 50 more kills with no drop people gave up feeling defeated its things like this that make me hate this game...but atleast i got my coat out of it
Mind you, I was expecting the worse thing with this key from all the depressing posts. I was prepared to even not worry about my AF body for quite sometime and just let the Dark Knight in my static have the key if we ever got one. I went with my static to try for this key yesterday night for our Dark Knight and myself. We went know this to be a nasty key drop and figured we would be there a while so we decided to do this with just the static and exp because the mobs /checked at VT to IT to us.
We getting to the Monastic Caverns and go to the Island zone. There were two Dreadnaughts close to the zone inside the Monastic Caverns so we zoned to the island. Caught a bit of aggro and rezoned the Monastic Caverns. The Dreadnaughts had moved down and separated so getting set our THF pulls one in. Easy fight, the thing dropped like a rock (Water III is nice on these guys). Up scrolls the the Loot and to our amazement... a Davoi Coffer Key is listed at the bottom! Great! Shocked and amazed, I pass and the Dark Knight now has his key. Static says lets get you your key. We pull in the second Dreadnaught. Again easy kill, the loot scrolled by so fast that I didn't see what if any treasure was drop (everyone had signet and we got 5 fire crystals) I scroll up beyond hope and there is another Davoi Coffer Key! Two orcs killed, two keys. I was expecting this to be the worst thing. I feel sorry for those that had to spend so much time in here.
After getting those two keys, static Paladin and White said lets try our luck at Beadeaux for our coffer keys. It didn't go near as well there. Guess we use all our luck in Davoi. Two escapes and two deaths later in Beadeaux we call it a night. Those Quadav will reap our vengence in a level or two!

WOW that is lucky! congratulations!! I know I have just had a run of very bad luck but I hope I'm as lucky as you when I go back.

Anyone tried this? I'm very frustrated by this key and am looking for a different way to get it. What level would the mimic be? I'd bring a 75PAL, 73RDM and a few other 60+.

Eclipse Bite only did 561 to it @@ (was doing 900 to orcs)

Went with 11 member alliance last evening....First key dropped after an hour. About 90 minutes later, 3 more keys dropped in mabye 10 fights. Had no TH2, only one member with thf subbed was in alliance, so I dont think TH seems to make much of a difference for this drop.

The rarity of this drop is enough to honestly make me want to quit this fkn game. Everyone starts out a job wanting the AF pretty badly. Having to rely on about 5+ people to get it is terrible for this type of situation.
4 hours in both Monastic Caverns and Davoi, over 100 kills, no drops. We even had a 52 thf for TH2 who got the kill about 60% of the time. I felt bad dragging all those people there but I hope they will be willing to go through that again. I know the theif will come back because he got 8 gold beastcoins while we were there. I'm going to owe a lot of favours after this.
I've been here a total of 4 times now, 12 hours, 300+ kills and I still haven't even seen the key drop. I camped just past the zone near the bridge. I have a headache....

This is the worst freakin key to get. I've been out sooo many times with VERY rare key drops, and of course I'll get the low lot and people won't stay long enough for everyone who needs one.
I've spent the last few MONTHS hunting this coffer key. I ate 2 lucky eggs, had a thf in pt every single time. We've had low lvled thfs to attempt to pop a mimic for a sure shot coffer key drop, but the lowbie thf successfully popped the coffer EVERY SINGLE ATTEMPT! I've spent over 40 hours in this place hunting this damn key for my AF body. We've hunted outside in Davoi, and inside in the cavern. The mobs inside seem to drop more items than in Davoi, but I've only seen 1 key drop, and I lost the lot to that one. It's funny, I ate my lucky egg, and the next mob we killed dropped the 1 key I've seen drop in the months of camping this place. I wont even talk about the numberous deaths we've had here from bad links.
My experience, this drop rate is FAR WORSE than the gk1 paper. I'm lvl 62 now, and needed my AF 4 lvls ago, but noooooooooo. Damn orcs!

a party last night went pass the banishing wall to the zone in the cavern. it was a key/skill up party. we were there for what seemed HOURS and not a drop. we did end up all leaving. but before we did, a party came by saying they dont drop the key in that part. only outside...is this true?
From what i'm told... Davoi has a better drop rate than Monastic Caverns.
