delay
# Jan 05 2008 at 4:21 AM Rating: Decent
60 delay = 1 real life second
base h2h delay = 480

Martial arts I base h2h = 400
MAII = 380
MAIII =360
MAIV = 340
etc..
etc..

basically with lv 75 you get to attack every 5 seconds with these :)
thats not including the belts either

These weapons are a good example to show that it's important to keep something in mind when looking at and judging h2h weapons.

Don't know how many people tend to notice this, but along with h2h weapons having the +delay, since it adds onto the base h2h delay, the DMG is dealt the same way.
On these, for example, it's +7, not just 7, so whatever the base DMG of h2h is, it adds onto it just like the delay adds onto the base h2h delay.

An in-game example I can use to show this, is that frequently in high 60s+ parties I'd be out-damaging SAMs' hits *per punch*, and I had pretty average gear. Not completely awesome, but by no means bad. Now, thinking about this, it would be impossible for me to do this if h2h weapons weren't dealt in this way, since even the strongest h2h weapon is at +23 (the Spharai, aka: fully upgraded relic weapon), while G. Katanas tend to be in the 70s. That means that the average G. Katana has almost triple the DMG on it then the strongest h2h weapon in the game. IMO, that's enough difference to prove that the base h2h DMG must be much bigger then what any weapon adds on, otherwise it would have been impossible for me to do what I did with the gear that I had. This would also help explain why we're so effing awesome unarmed compared to any other non-PUP melee job.

So, this is debatable of course, but in a way that makes the DMG on h2h weapons not quite as important to look at as opposed to, say, 2-handed weapons. This is because the majority of the weapons' stats actually comes from the MNKs themselves, not from the actual weapon, while for any other job what you see is what you get.

So let's say that those SAMs I mentioned earlier used a G. Katana with 74 DMG, and at the specific time I'm thinking of I probably used either these or Shiva's Claws (+11), so for the benefit of the doubt, let's say I used the Claws. That means, to noticeably outdamage the SAMs per punch, my base h2h DMG, not counting the weapon, had to be like...high 60s, low 70s, somewhere around there. Would be an interesting experiment to take on, for anyone interested.

I'm not saying that ignoring damage completely is the way to go. I'm just trying to put in perspective how much the damage listed on h2h weapons actually contributes to your actual damage output.

To put it simply, at level 75 MNKs with no weapons literally *are* a 300 delay, high 60s-low 70s weapon on their own. And, like they look, the weapons only improve on their natural killing ability. Go us!
These fail.

test things out before u talk things down, elitist
These fail.

first test them of course after 73 these fail, pre 73, i take these over spartans at least with my set up. spartans arn't grade A like people seem to think they are, you'll be averageing a nice damage per hit, but whats the use if your swinging twice for there every one hit
hmmm

I was thinking about getting these. I have pretty good gear, so i doubt that the lack of damage on them is too notciable. Plus i have heard when you have Brown Belt, and Fuma Kyhan these are pretty dam good. The speed might make up for the danage
Think about it

I've had these Knucks for about a week know and I'm loving it. The delay and STR+ make up for the lack in DMG and makes you more of a TP machine. Not only does Hundred Fists look amazing, I can sometimes out-do Samurai's with TP. The STR+ also help with howling Fist and Dragon kick multipliers, so I'm going to stick to these knucks. :D
they are fun though

I got these the other day for 310k on Shiva. Tested them out with no + haste gear on too weaks and say a slight difference in speed on too weaks and about 5-20 damage per hit loss, varied quite a bit becouse most of my gear is +STR not +Attack. I thought about selling them back but the difference in speed is noticable and its fun to attack a lot faster while farming so I kept them.

These are godly for Haste+ setups only. By themselves on a regularly-equipped monk, they fall behind Feral Fangs/Spartans/Destroyers/Indra Katars/TM Hooks+2. However, at level 75, when you get your final Martial Arts trait (reducing Base H2H Delay to 300), and with a decent amount of Haste+ gear while using these, you will most likely be outdamaging the other mnks in your party, simply because you are attacking a lot faster than them. And damage isn't THAT low, because at 75 there aren't a lot of IT mobs to kill. Hope this helps ;D
not too great if you ask me
# Sep 29 2005 at 12:21 AM Rating: Decent
this is nice but its not as godly as people think, yes it is +0 delay but you have a h2h delay with or with out a weapon I think about lvl 67 your base delay is like 360ish or something like that, so its "360ish"+0 for only 7 damage the +str,+dex, and +acc are nice but, if you really think about it these are not that great....but use what ya want its your character if you like these go for it^^

Yes it is a +0 Delay weapon

but that + is refering to hand to hand delay +0

so say hand to hand delay in 300 with +0 it stays at 300, then martial arts (mnk ability) it reduces the 300 to 275 martial arts 2 reduces to 250

NOTE: These are not exact im just guessing.

from what i've read, h2h delay without any Martial Arts skill is 480.

MA I - 400
MA II - 380
MA III - 360

and so on, until the last martial arts skill level up brings your total delay to 300.
