Got it!!! I found out that SAM can have a party with this bad boy! In fact there is only 1 better Polearm for SAM, that's the Gondo. For Obvious reasons. But in terms of farming or anything for that matter SAM wants to use a polearm for, this is the one.

I understand this post isn't particularly new, but just in case some sam is looking at it, wishing to get a good spear, here's an update for Theodorik's comment:

Piece of junk for DRG? How so? It has higher DPS than any polearm lower than level 71.

This thing is such a piece of junk for DRG, but SAM's can make fairly good use of it in Crawlers' Nest I guess. That rare/ex one from KS30 would be nicer for SAM, but this one's a lot easier to obtain. I just skill up with this, don't really use it for anything important.

ok, if any samurai has this, it is FREAKING amazing against crawlers, it's a boon for farming or lvling your npc in the nest, my spear skill is 174, no food, my "show off" gear, aka rare but not as effective, like my saotome and jelly ring, and i hit a rumble crawler for 1973 damage penta thrust. Thats allmost 400 a hit. Even normal hits were 300-380 on the bugs in there. I got 5 people their genkai mold while I was there.
Come on, raise your sword more, use both hands! It won't be any fun if you don't try to win!

if i can remember right theres another polearm but critical+3 on arcana dont quote me not really sure

Tadakatsu Honda is correct, you get a cookie. the name means dragonfly cutter, legend has it a dragonfly landed on the blade, and it was so sharp the fly fell, sliced in two. thus the bonus vs vermin.
