Espadon +1  

Hello all, I'm a 67 pld on Lakshimi and I have both an Espadon +1 and Gluttony. Both are very very nice swords. However both of them have there places. For instance soloing or farming Its obvious to go with Espadon +1. The big debate is Exp. This Is where circumstances come into play. I say if your new to the area like say your just about to enter Bibiki Bay and your party is fresh out of Loo. Then I reccomend useing Gluttony Sword because 1. You will not be hitting them often or for damage 2. You will need to take the less damage. As you progress in the stage you are on then I say you can move on toward Espadon +1 about a level or two before you become to high for that level or the mobs start to waver between IT and VT. Why is this the time? 1. Because you can hit the mobs fairly often even without a LB and you will do damage enough damage to build TP. 2. the mobs do less damage to you anyway due to your increased level and the +7 vit isnt as neccisary as when you first start out. These are both expensive swords so I can understand you not having them both so when it comes down to one or the other I would have to say Gluttony Sword because as you get closer and closer to 75 you will do less and less damage and start to focus on taking the least amount of damage possible. Hope this helps my fellow PLDs.

I havent bought this yet mostly cause my server Asura has gone nuts....I got just regular espadon right now but get this Gluttony sword which I did have is selling for 4 MIL O.o I bought it at the low Asura price of 1.5 mil =/ then sold it for twice as much....but doesnt matter because espadon+1 is up to 2mil stinking gil on Asura ...thats right 2mil for +1 vit +1 mnd +2 atk when espadon is 10k still.....i think i can handle just using regular espy...

This will ne a good sword for Mm PLD, no doubt about it. Just trying to work out why it selld for the best part of 400k though.

The ingrediants arn't all that special so all your paying for is the level of the crafter.
NQ=10k. HQ=400k. Big leap for a synth thats relativly non-expensive.

I am currently using a Gluttony sword and don't know whether to stick with it or switch to the Esapdon +1. I would be able to trade my Gluttony sword in for about 900k and buy the Espadon +1 for 350k-400k and have some left over for buying a Hercules ring (400k). I know the loss of VIT will make 4 points of difference, but will it impact the damage I receive a lot? I know more damage means more hate, but does the attack +7 and the slightly reduced delay affect hate control that much? I don't get much hate from damage at all except for some weapon skills. Should I trade in my Gluttony sword for the Espadon +1 or continue to use the Gluttony sword?

Why durandal?
Durandal =
faster then espadon+1... so u can hit faster... so... doesnt matter if ur sword hits for lower... u'll hit faster... so damage loss isnt that big
no attack+? ok... we hav +1 enmity... we get extra hate...
+VIT!!!!!!!!
+vit +emnity = BEST for plds...

This sword is a terrific addition to any PLD's equipment. I am currently using this over the Gluttony Sword. It has a much lower delay, and doesn't have the negative effects. The VIT loss doesn't really matter, because as you get higher (70+) the damage that you take isn't all that bad (most are all VT). The VIT DOES make a difference, but I personally find this one easier to maintain hate with. I am going to keep this until 75 (Not really wanting the Durandal, I know...What's not to like about it...), and if I get a Joyeuse (please LS! Don't fail me now!), I will still continue to keep this sword, and switch it in occasionally (King Ranp's Tomb, Joyeuse sucks against bones). Anyways, this sword is awesome, and although it may be pricey, it is worth every gil IMO. (420k on Alexander, just to let you know.)

this is absolutely one of the best pld swords in the game (please note that im no where close to being able to equip this, its just my opinion) i do plan on getting this when im high enough lvl there are only a few swords that are better than this one is the relic sword the excalibur which if i do happen to get, then i will part ways with this beauty also if you look at swords pld can use the auto collection program of this site found a few swords that are 76-80 and could make the pld as much of a dd as a war ^^ beind a pld in ballista with the ultima weapon equipped *drools* should go check them out and plz rate thanks yeah i noticed i forgot the s in front of sword in the subject :P

This is the best sword for a pld. Sure the Gluttony sword had more vit but with the Espadon+1 I do more dmg which means more hate. ITS AWESOME

If somehow a +2 of this appeared, I would have a virtual orgasm, then I would proceed to sell my virtual right right lung to buy it.

very very good sword! i prefer this than the gluttony sword!
