Just got this 2 days in a row for our nin and thf in my social LS. Pretty fun fight. Rdm/ninX2 can kill this easily.

though it was originally called 'duck tape' when it was invented for military use, due to its water repellant properties, it is now known as 'duct tape' as in heating ducts, which ironicly is the only thing duct tape wont hold together.

I got this a couple weeks ago but I thought i'd post about it now since i'm bored. We killed about 3 Wyverns before Ungur popped. We killed him with a party of 74Nin, 72Nin, 72Rng, 75Rng, 70Whm, 75Rdm and it was pretty smooth. We told the Rngs to ease up a bit on hate til near the end. When he was around 1/3 HP, they insisted on going crazy so they unleashed and both ended up dying with Ungur left with like 1/10 HP. The other Ninja and I were able to finish him off on our own and I finally got my Boomerang.
Our LS went the next day to kill him again for the other Ninja, they killed PHs for quite a while and no spawn, so most logged. When the Nin came back on a couple hours later, there were JP killing PHs when it spawned. He called LS mates to come kill (I know... it was stealing their NM but JP do it to NA all the time) and while they were on their way, JP pulled and fought.... eventually wiping. Our LS got there (I wasn't on) with a few peeps and pulled... and wiped, but here came another party of friends who helped us recover and kill Ungur for the other Nin to get his boomerang before the JP recovered/had more help come.

whats the lvl of this, if you have killed it please tell me what you had and dmg it was doing, thank you
well we just killed this guy for the past few nights as 75 nin 75 nin 75 whm 75 blm. relatively easy fights. its pretty easy when niether nin get hit. just trade hate between the two and its a pretty easy fight. just long. i'd say that this NM is between lv 75-80 by the limit points recieved from the kill and the length of the battle. he does have a lot of hp but if you can blind slow and para him (which we nins had no problems landing) only thi ng you realy need to worry about it raiant breath.

now easiest way to kill this guy s to pull him into the cave near his spawn area and have your nins tank with their backs aganst the cave walls. thus preventing his nasty aoe paralize and radiant breath to rip through the entire prt there.

Seems to me this is only good for a THF. Evasion would be nice for a NIN, but there are better throwing weapons and NIN needs shuriken tosses to maintain good hate. This is great for THF, however, who do lots of pulling.

Sadly, you fail to see how a good ninja does not need shurikens nor will spend the 80K gil a stack for them. If you have a good nin, you don't even need a thf in the pt, nor want one. Because if your nin is this high, chances are you will not be in a pt w/ a thf at any point, and pt mainly in rngx4, brd, nin pt's. SO, yes, while this is great for a thf(which really don't need it b/c they have insane eva as it is), it serves a much better use for nin's all around.

Yeah definatly good tool for ninja, i'm lvl 70 my throwing is about 190 and i only use for fun since i dont pull anymore , i mostly use ninja tools and provoke to keep hate but i don't lose hate much anyway not to mention shurikens are never on AH
As a 63 Ninja, I've thrown *maybe* 5 shuriken. And I can safely say, "No, you don't need shuriken to tank".

i think the opposite. I rarely ever see ninjas use throwing weps, or any ranged wep for that matter, cept maybe bomb core. This would be good for them since eva is the main stat nins focus on. Thfs on the other hand, would be better off with either a crossbow, or a stat increasing wep like lightning bow+1, C.C.Boomerang+1/2, or the +2 dex boomerang. For soloing, I still prbably wouldnt take this over an Xbow. Bloody bolts a key to soloing as a thf and losing them would be too much of a disadvantage. The only time that i think thf would really use this, Is when tanking with a healer.

Actually a THF could get great use out of this. If you think about it a THF/NIN can probably tank a lot of HNMs better then a Ninja, but they'd have less hate I'll admit. All and all though by 75 a THF can evade more attacks then a Ninja and this only helps it even more even if a NIN can use it they'll still be below the evasion of a good HNM THF.

Pretty much all Nin would rather use Rasetsu boots instead of Dance because you lose 1 eva but get +5 attack. Personally, i'm gonna use Fuma Sune-ate for the haste.

hmm, I thought you could only have +40 bonus on stats..or maybe it only applies for the main stats (STR, DEX, INT, etc..).

well im not sure about stats like evastion but as a blm i can up my INT to over +40 with errant diamond rings food etc. this could apply to thats liek evastion or accuracy but i have no idea

This Uberrang is perfect for Tanking ninjas. i seen it equiped on a thf one forgot who, and she/he never got hit even once really. the ninja toke on Bloodtear and with my great surprise never got a finger placed on him/her self (cant tell if female chars are really just dudes who get a hard-on looking at there chars) >,< the only lut down to it is the +8 mp, what nin in there great mind needs magic points lol
