These are the only piece of AF2 I don't want. I'll stick to Marine M Gloves, (yes, please).

The gloves don't suck at all - these things are great to macro in as a minimum.
For example:

/equip hands "Duelist's Gloves"
/equip legs "Warlock's Tights"
/ma "Stoneskin" <me>
/wait 5
/equip hands "Warlock's Gauntlets"
/equip legs "Duelist's Tights"

You could also wear these full time and use that macro line for something else (enhancing torque, for example).

The +2Mag Def can be usefull - in my case it helps counterbalance my use of jelly ring. The +4int is nice for blind, gravity, bind, sleep, and nukes.

Never feel bad about owning a pair of these gloves! ^^

To me, the Duelist's Gloves are the weakest piece of AF2 for RDM. These are still better than AF1 gloves though, as these have a lot of INT. I'm not sure what to make of the Magic Def Bonus, but hey, I'd rather have this than not have it. +15 Enhancing Magic is a huge boost, and with AF1 pants, my Enhancing Magic is almost as high as my Enfeebling Magic... crazy.

Ok. Well, first of October I finally managed to obtain a pair of these. I think my final record on them was 1/9. The Magic Defense bonus is a tad interesting.

I XP my NPC in Xarcabard every single day. Fighting the bogy mobs, the BLM skellies, and the eyeball buggers. I get hit with spells quite a bit when Silence wears. Most of the time I flat-out resist any sort of debuff spell cast on me. Frost, Blind, Slow, whatever. Sometimes (appears less than 1 in 10 spells) one will somehow manage to land on my 75 RDM. But its rare.

Its been five days. And I've continued to XP my NPC in Xarc regularly. Fighting all the same mobs I have flat out resisted literally EVERY debuff cast on me (except Diaga but you can't resist that). And the Blizzaga, Thundaga, and Firaga that have been cast on me were also highly resisted.

In Dynamis - Beuc last night I noticed that all three times my party was put to sleep (once by Sleepga, once by Sleepga2, and once by a Goblin Dice's AE sleep effect) I was the first person in my party to shrug off the sleep; and I wasn't using Barsleep to help. This could have just been luck, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

Now to try for the Tabard. Heh heh. ^(^_^)>

This is almost definately the weakest AF2 item we get. But they're so much more stylish than the Zenith Mitts, eh?

Good Int on 'em at least. And the Enhancing Magic + has its obvious uses.

A lot of people tend to ignore the Magic Defense Bonus. If I ever manage to obtain these (Got the low lot 6 times thus far on them) I want to give that a bit of testing. That isn't a bonus you see very often on gear---and I think it might have a place in some of the later CoP missions.

Oddly, these seem to drop a great deal more than any other RDM AF2 piece. Or at least they sure seem to on Odin.

I'll report back with my findings when I eventually get a pair

This is totally the most common piece of rdm afv2 to drop, if not the most common afv2 drop in general. I've had two runs where these gloves have dropped twice, and once where they dropped 3 times.

You could basically throw a rock and hit someone who has these nowadays. But hey, they're still coo :)
Must have!

These gloves, combined with the Warlock's Tights and a Enhancing Torque... Enhancing Skill +37. Talk about some nice Stoneskin, Phalanx and Enspell increases. I hope I get these gloves soon~

I know that "AK says so" but I've always seen relic drop from the associated jobs in dynamis (in the 3 runs I've been on) - I.e. BLMs drop sorcerers', THF drop assassin's etc. I haven't seen any RDM-types in dynamis, nor any RDM drops, but one of my friends said he saw 5 of these drop on a single bastok run.

There are RDM types...

Bastok = Protector
San'Doria = Vexer
Jeuno = Enchanter
Windurst = Visionary

I've seen BST AF drop off THF (it did today) for my run in Dynamis-Bastok.

During my Dynamis-Bastok, this dropped 3 times, and we were in there for 3.5 hours. 2 of the dropped within 1 hour, and the last one when it was 30 min left. Sadly, I didn't get any of them =(

Whoa watch the spam....

RDM AF2 drops way less then I thought it would, so far I haven't seen a drop yet in my battles, but I am the proud owner of two relic weapons which had the nerve to drop SIX times in dynamis-bastok.

This is harder to get then AF1 stuff because:
-You need many people 40+
-You need to be lvl 65+ to enter and 70+ to wear it.
-The drop rate is around .2% it seems and you still have to win the lots with around 10 other RDMs in the group.

Overall it may be 'easier' to get if you leach off a dynamis group but in reality this is part of a huge effort to get everyones stuff and have some fun. Chances of you winning it is low and not a sure thing like the first AF was.
Alright

Well, I just got these this weekend, on the leviathan server. Thier good, but Ill be useing the errant gloves at 72. Good for en- spells and for when you buff yourself, with the +15 enhancing, otherwise i wont be using these too often.
RE: Alright
# Mar 12 2005 at 10:06 AM Rating: Decent
I'm with you there. These are great for solo, but if you are hume, the RSE2 gloves > these and overall marine gloves (for hume) > Errant. Errant gives +1 int more than Marine H gloves, but the marine gloves are also +4mnd and +35 mp better than errant (for hume)...so i never even bothered buying errant. As for the duelist gloves, I solo quite a bit so this would be great for that. Any other time, I would use marine (exp, minor HNM) or master caster bracelets (gods/major HNM.) For the master caster bracelets, I change countries depending on who is control of sky or Li'Telor so they always work in those two places.
AF2 Vs relic
# Jun 28 2004 at 7:47 PM Rating: Decent
Well this is AF2, Not a relic armor.. but for some reason the rdm's AF drops is bad in Dynamis world since i've been to all 4 worlds so far and it droped once in bastok! but i lost the lot to a japanese rdm.
Relic vs. AF2

Artifact Armor is different from Relic, I believe. Relic Armor is the kind that has very horrible stats in Vanadeil (a "relic" weapon usually could only be used at lv 75 and have 999 delay with 1 damage), but has much better stats in Dynamis. This is what I've heard, and AF2 armor is good in both worlds. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I think the difference is.
RE: Relic vs. AF2
# Jun 14 2005 at 2:19 PM Rating: Decent
ummmm relic and af2 are the same thing relic is the real name. af2 is slang so people can type faster and yes relic weapons start as crap but you upgrade to just about the best weapon you can get. relic armor on the other hand doesnt need to be upgraded. at certin upgrade levels relic weapons gain powers in dynamis but still suck outside of it but at its final form it can be used anywhere. and if you dont beleave me go to weapons and look up excalibur, apocalipse, gungir, ragnorack, and many others to see what i mean

Yes you are right
PS : Artifact 2 armor is much easier than artifact 1 because mostly everything in dynamis drops it artifact 1 has to be quested and gotten in coffers with a huge party

Umm... 6 people (or less) can do any AF I know of.
I don't think 6 people would stand much chance in Dynamis, and I don't think these drop all THAT commonly. (Sure, anything can drop it, but those same things probably have 5+ other jobs they drop relic/AF2/whatever for. And I doubt any of them have a particularly common drop. Not to mention, as far as I know, anyone in that Dynamis at that time can lot on these, so there's some competition for ya.

I've seen a lvl 75rdm/nin solo that guardian statue for the Warlock's Chapeau. It's not so bad, just takes a while for 1 person to kill it.

Relic is af2 just people call it relic and others call it af2. Plus it drops in dynamis where af2 is gotten.
