Signature trade

I would assume that you can trade/sell/bazaar the item that you craft with a signature on it, but just wanted to ask and double check before going through all the trouble. And personalized ring would make a very nice gift ^^
If anyone can let me know if the item crafted with Sig. can be traded, I would much appriciate it. Thanks

You can Trade, Bazaar, or Send (via Delivery Box) any Signed item made through use of these crystals. However there are rules...

You can only sign NON-STACKABLE items. Any stackable item you make with these is a waste of the "HQ" crystal, as you are not able to sign these. Arrows (and their ingredients), Ninja Tools, Bulk Food items (such as kabobs, cookies, etc.), and such cannot be signed.

You cannot sell a signed item through the AH. Well, you can, but the signature will be lost if you do it, so it's almost like you wasted the crystal's abilities by doing so. If you have a Signed Item that you did not make, it is still advisable to not put it on the Auction block.

There is no skill requirement on using these. Granted, they can only be obtained in normal play by being Novice Rank or higher, but SE may occassionally do more promotions (like the one they are doing soon for Valentione's Day [not a typo, check the FFXI main page for info]), where they are sending 1 of four varieties of "HQ" crystals to all registered adventurers through their MH. This will allow even low level crafters a chance to sign a gift for their sweetheart (or for selling), and get an experience with these special crystals.

But yes, normally you need to be at the Novice rank or higher in at least one guild to even obtain these crystals, and since these were added to sort of give a "crafter's pride" to crafting, you are able to sell them, just not on the Auction House.

Signature?

So its like throwing your name on it and that's all. Kinda like Katanas that are signed by the smith who made them? If I understand this right your name sorta just appears on the item description where it would say "Rare EX" or something right? You don't get to re-name the item to whatever you want. Is that correct?

You are close...the signature does not show where the Rare/Ex is, it shows in the bottom right corner of the item description...the same area that the use info apears on useable equipment.

Also you are only able to input your sig on items that are non-stackable. So if you use the inferno crystal to make roasted corn(stackable item) you will not be able to input your sig...found that out the hard way^^.

Hope that helps.
re useable??

is this crystal reuseable?
no no no
# May 26 2004 at 9:30 AM Rating: Decent
The amount of guild points you get for every requested item you give them is dependent on the item requested, ive gotten 50 points for one item and 150 points for another.

Also, you can ONLY add your name to UNSTACKABLE items! like rings...or things like roast mutton.

i hope this helps.

the requested item are you talkin about the item you need to make to go up in the guild rank?
or do they ask you to make an item to get points?

Once you get the Novice rank the guys/girls with the aprons in/near the gulids give you quests where you make them stuff and that gives you guild points to buy stuff like the crystals ^^
Cool

This is an Ex item. Cannot be traded/sold put up in a bazaar or listed on the auction house.

All of the high-quality crystals are obtainable for 200 guild points. You get a varying amount of guild points each time you provide them with the requested item.

After obtaining the crystal it wasn't very intuitive how to enter the signature (cooking meat-kabobs). Still haven't figured it out. Also, it doesn't seem to increase your chances of a high-quality synthesis. The only usage I've found so far is when leveling your craft you can eliminate or reduce the crystal cost.

Depending on the yield quantaties of what you are making, it may make more sense to accrue guild points for the guild items which will probably be Rare/Ex anyways.

If I understood the update correctly, you have to make a rare synth (a +1 or renamed synth) while using the new crystals to enter your signature.

Untrue. I just made a regular scimitar and still got a signature on it.

Notice my time since the last post. ^^
You can use an Infero Crystal just like a fire crystal for any synth, but it does not sign perishable items such as food, ammo, potions, etc.

Partially True, It Works On Most Food, Just It Wont Work on Stackable Items.
