The max points awarded per day are the same, and are not affected by HQ synths. What he's talking about, is the fact that the difficulty of the items required for GP become much more difficult.

Found this out the hard way when they asked for a Cutlass. Not a very high alchemy synth, but it requires a pretty good Smithing sub-skill. A lot of the higher GP items require sub-skills, or hard to find ingredients.

We still get the "beeswax" and "silent oil" GP opportunities, but it just gets more complicated as you advance your skill.
