I really would like someone to please explain in some detail on what Guild Points are and how do you go about acquiring this Item. I am from Windurst but Smithing is the only one that interests me, could I get some feedback on how to get better at it and also get the Smithy's Mitt's in the future.

Once you reach lv28 (Novice) in any craft, you can talk to certain people at each Guild and join it. Once you are a member of a Guild, you can speak to the person you signed up with to receive recipes for your level. By trading in the items, you earn Guild Points. Once you acquire enough Guild Points, you can purchase these pieces of equipment to further your crafting abilities.

Thanks Phoenyx- been looking into when I could start doing those, once 28 (15 now) that will be the new concern. Now when you trade the items and get GP to you also get Gil as if you where selling it, if not I guess you have to already have Gil built up. Last is what is you comments on building up Clothing / Wood / and or Leather to stay in comparison with Smithing. Thanks again

First of all, you must be at least level 48 to aquire any of the guild items, such as the mitts. As far as the leveling of other crafts, it's always a good idea. Especially with some recipes that require additional skill in other crafts. It helps with successful synths and HQ ones as well.
