Level 30 Subjob Items

There are level 30 Earrings, Shields, Belts and Mantles that all trigger on Latent Effects. These all correspond with a job.
All of them activate via Subjob. Nothing else will trigger these to activate, NOT main job, ONLY subjob.
The newest jobs (Blu, Cor, Pup) do not have these items (as of 7/27/06).
Subjob: Bard - Singer's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Song Belt)
Subjob: Beastmaster - Trimmer's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Pick Belt)
Subjob: Black Mage - Wizard's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Staff Belt)
Subjob: Dark Knight - Killer (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Scythe Belt)
Subjob: Dragoon - Wyvern (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Lance Belt)
Subjob: Monk - Wrestler's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Cestus Belt)
Subjob: Ninja - Genin (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Sarashi)
Subjob: Paladin - Esquire's (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Shield Belt)
Subjob: Ranger - Beater's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Gun Belt)
Subjob: Red Mage - Warlock's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Rapier Belt)
Subjob: Samurai - Ashigaru (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Katana Obi)
Subjob: Summoner - Magician's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Avatar Belt)
Subjob: Thief - Pilferer's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Dagger Belt)
Subjob: Warrior - Mercenary's (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Axe Belt)
Subjob: White Mage - Healer's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Mace Belt)

There are other Latent effect items that trigger at different things such as Low HP, <100% tp, a bard song on you, This is NOT one of those items.
The only thing that activates these items is your subjob.

This BCNM is very duoable by RNG RNG or a THF RNG. I did 4 runs with a RNG/NIN friend of mine as a THF/NIN. It was our first time, so the first run was for us to get used to Bisoto. We didn't die, but time ran out with him having a small sliver of life remaining. The rest of the runs went off w/o a hitch. The keys to a successful duo are as follows:

1. Always position yourselves at 180 degrees from each other so that if a Paralyzga goes off, only one of you is affected. Paralyzga isn't a huge deal with a trio, but in a duo it can mean death.
2. Stagger your bolts in time with your partner so that if one doesn't register the sleep effect, the next bolt will be there soon enough.
3. Communicate communicate communicate. If you want to do anything other than spam sleep bolts at Bisoto, let your partner know before you do it so that THEY can be spamming sleep bolts. That includes Barrages, WSs, Acid Bolts, Bloody Bolts, Sneak Attacks.

We went through ~1 stack of sleep bolts each per run (went 3/4) and recieved a Magician's Earring for our trouble, which net 500k on Valefor.

Went last night as war/nin, thf/nin, and war/drg.
No problems at all. Used sleep bolts to try and stop it from healing and bloody bolts to drain hp and heal. Plus the occasional acid bolt to lower it defense. We also each took a couple hi-potions to help cure incase we missed the bloody bolts. I (war/nin) used 2 hi-potions. It took us a little over 7 min.

We worked on our markmanship for a couple days thf has his at 90, war/drg (needs to work on it) at 15, and war/nin(me) i have it at 65. All and all was easy just keep shooting bolts. Have thf/nin (or person with highest markmanship) keep firing sleep bolts, Acid bolts and bloody ,when he needs hp, and have the war/drg do the same, even though he wasnt hitting them to often, I was usin bloody, sleep, and holy bolts as needed.

Drops were:1000g
Genin ring: 550k on Unicorn
Mercenary's ring: 50k
Hi-potion
silk thread

First run we had we went whm/blm (me), thf/nin, and drg/war. Thf/nin was the only one using bolts. Had a little trouble with him since he was curing alot. Took us 13 min and change to finish him off. But all and all we killed him and figured out a strategy that worked for us the second time around.

For fun (and profit?) our static LS did this tonight. RNG/NIN - Me, WAR/MNK, and a BLM/WHM. Before you start harassing, lemme explain - we took the tank in case things went south (and there was no one else available!) but I digress.

First time you fight this guy, his cure 3's are annoying - he was at 1/4 health for 7 mins. Then we got into the groove, I timed my sleep bolts, and the War stopped hitting it - thing went like clockwork.

11 min 11 sec. AND we were ready to finish it off with a Nuke/Barrage/Split Shot, when out of nowhere, it just died. Get him down low enough, and dont dispair - all it takes is one Paralyga (waste of a spell, poor guy xp> ) and he's going down!

Drops were a mythril ingot, d.steel ore, 2 silk threads and a Finale. Meh - paid for the trip, and soon to return!!!

Well, I did it. Killed old crawler dude. NP. Took a RNG/NIN RNG/NIN and BLM/WHM. We killed him in about 2-3 mins. It was too easy. We got:
Spool of Silk Thread
Mythril Ingot
Steel Ingot
Scoll of Utsusemi: Ni (400k Unicorn ^^)

We were gonna do it again for Genin Earrings, but BLM d/ced and we couldnt find him...gave up. I'll do it later. I'm getting that earring. Special thanks to Wichy and Zemo from Unicorn for all your help.

I'm going to get this baby tonight for my 30RNG/15NIN. I am planning to take myself, A Blackmage/Whitemage and hopefully another BLM or RNG. Although my friend who is a 50BRD wants to come...would BRD be any help here? What are the chances i will get this drop? I know it sells for 460k on Unicorn, but if I get this, I'm wearing it. Any strategy or party suggestions appreciated.

Um yeah, I did this a while ago with many of my friends, and we ended up being 12/12 and we got 6 genin drops, and id say around 400k in other random stuff. Genins go for 390k on Asura so.... ***** BCNM 40, Bisoto pwns the crap outta them.

Oh and btw, we did try the blm and drk strategy 2 times, and we were up around 13-14 minutes per run, which was cuttin it pretty close, so we decided to try out 2x rng/nin and a whm/blm. This combo works much much better. Have the whm run past Bisoto at the start and the rngs stand right at the entrance to the arena. Just spam Holy Bolts until Bisoto is around 1/2 life, then have both rng use barrage and start spamming holy bolts after barrages land. Whm should be nearly out of mp at this point, so keep it asleep while whm rests, then wait for barrage timer and have both rng open barrage again, then just kill him.

You only have to wait on the 2nd barrage set if bisoto casts cure III a hell of a lot, but we have the record for this bcnm and its only 2 min 25 sec ish, he only casted cure III twice! haha, and we didnt even use eagle eye shot, so most of the time bisoto will go down at around 4-5 min. Much safer strategy. I even went one time with myself as the whm O.o. If a galka whm can pwn this nm, the plan has to be foolproof.

The "Rare" symbol in the top right corner indicates that you can only have one of these items in your possession. That being the case, I think it might be hard to wear two when you can only carry one. =P

1) How very Mature of you ("boob?" really?)
2) You're thinking about the level 50 JSE rings. Latent Effects mean different things for each thing that has them. There are latents that activate with subjobs, some that activate at exactly 50, 25, and 15% HP, and YES the level 50 JSE rings that activate on yellow HP and <100% TP)

And the fact you got almost 3 jobs to 75 without using your brain must mean you are a fantastic player.

I bought the earring (+2 Vit for war sub) and thought to myself if they had one for warrior, they probably have one for every job. So I took a list of all the earrings, and matched them up with the ones that were almost 100% logical (healers earring being /whm etc), and took the left overs and researched them as much as I could, and posted it when I thought my list was correct.

For instance, for this earring you can just put it on, but something like the "Def +10" or whatever the Pld one is, you think... What job is looking for more and more Def?... hmm
