I can't get this to appear at the merchant in Sandy Port, only 3 items available. What criteria do you have to fulfill to get it to appear?

This, Kyahan, Tekko, Hachimaki, and Sitabaki all drop from Yagudo Persecutors in Giddeus. I farm necklaces there and only kill Persecutors, Mendicants and Pipers so I don't remember if only the Persecutors drop these. But I got my whole set for my lv 8 SAM.

If you're farming Giddeus, don't forget the crystals.
I was dropping all the Tekko, Mitts, Cuffs, etc. that I was finding since I was thinking that I needed all the space I could get for necklaces. What I was neglecting to remember was that I could have been desynthing those! I think I would give up a slot for a full stack of grass cloth ^^

I believe it is also sold in Selbina in an eastern house thing, as well as by Tenshodo.

As with most items in the game that you want but don't have time to hunt and find. Hit up your local Auction House, most times you can get resonable prices on rare items. Just ask yourself, is the small mark-up in price worth having the item now, versus trying to find it and obtain it on my own?

No a mark up in price isn't worth it. On Shiva, you can purchase a bronze harness for 1000 less gil just if you walk down the street to an armor shop. People will rip you off whenever they can.. don't trust them

Markup implies Buying from the armor shop and reselling at the AH, that isn't so much ripping off as exploiting laziness. Selling the craft item isn't markup because you're ABSORBING some of the cost of crafting materials, be that cost in money for buying supplies, or time spent collecting them. time is money too ya know...
The cost to craft bronze harnesses is 1700 gil on my server, and that's when you get base materials cheap.
You should pick up crafting to change your outlook on those prices. You'll see that the people "ripping you off" are just trying to take a 500 gil loss instead of a 1000 gil loss.

I use this armor and i like it great newbie armor. i have a lvl 8 monk so it works great. im sure i will upgrade though.
