There are 3 choices for lv 20 polearm. There's the cruel spear, the fuscina, and this platoon lance. IMO this is probably the best one. Usually the platoon weapons aren't the best (excluding the dagger and this). I would probably either pick this one or the cruel spear...once i get my drg to 20. Current lv is 13. I would probably pick this if it's not too expensive.

when i first bought this it was 50k..now its only 15k...and its good from lvl 20-30.

Bought mine for 25k (normal price) in the sandorian AH in cerberus... Going for 50k in bastok... I have yet to check Jeuno though...

I remember like 4-5 months or more ago this item really did sell for 100-120k. I know because at the time I my drg was at about that lvl. I can't explain how or why the price dropped on all servers so dramatically. Perhaps the drop rate went up enough to where everyone was getting one.
Either way...too bad the prices doesn't go down on other items like the emp hairpin. It's like 900k in Bahamut now. Last summer it was 200k. ; ;

My LS have been trying to get this lance by bcnm 20 <bats> got slaughter like 10 times + <we have no SMN or BST> anyway Yesterday we have 2 SMN with ramuh and me PLD to go in it's was easy pray fight 2 SMN 2hour with judgement bolts like 2 times on one another did 1 time i tank all 3 bats and use invincible <rocks> we meet up every 2 hour to do it ^^

Ok, I'd just like to say that the Platoon Lance is nowhere near as good as everyone is making it out to be.
Yes, it has 37 damage, however, it also has 492 delay. To prove this, let's take a look at the damage/delay ratio compared to the Cruel Spear.
The Platoon Lance's 37damage / 492 delay = 0.075203... The Cruel Spear has 29 damage and 385 delay for a damage/delay ratio of 0.075324... Therefore, the Cruel Spear dishes out more damage over time, even without considering its additional effect.
I could be wrong, though. I may not fully understand the dynamics of how a Dragoon's wyvern works. If anybody can reply with legit reasoning why this is, in fact, better than the cruel spear, then I'm open to hearing it.

You get a TP bonus with this lance^^ 12 TP each hit instead of 10 for the Spear, more WS = more damamge^^....looks better too :P

It'a not too special when you first get it, but once you hit 25 and head to Yuhtunga for mandies it's percing effect hits the mandies super hard. I've double thrusted for over 120 with 100% tp using this baby.

yeah but then again, at 26 i hit a mandy (Incredibly tough) for 163 points with a sandorian spear. 110% tp and Double Thrust
I have been dong the BCNM20 once a day for about a week and have received this lance about 4 or 5 times. dunno if the update made this more accessible but it now strikes me as the not so rare lance on the Quincy server. Went to sell this at the AH and I believe they had 12 or more in stock for around 80k and declining. If these drop at a more common rate I cans see the price dropping drastically.

I scrapped togther 70k on fenrir sever for this bad ass lance, well worth it. Not only is it good for leveling, but most of the quest that have level caps dont start till you hit 20, so this is a very nice weapon for the occasion.

I F****ng love my platoon lance, matter of fact I feel like doing the quest for it just to sell it. I bought mine at the AH, for around 40K and damn was it worth it. I have a royal Squire's Halberd for my level 30 WAR, So now I have a weapon that does 37DMG at levle 20!!!!! and this thing will last me until I get my Lizard Piercer at 34, LOL this weapon was worth the 40K I coughed up for it. plus I dont have to change weapons for 14 levels lol

i saw this the other day in bastok i was like WHOA! i need this. no one has one up for sale right now, so instead i got a Cruel Spear. For some time i'm going to use that spear and upgrade to this one before i hit the jungle. probebly a good idea since cruel impair evasion, a plus until rdm gets gravity

I hate how it jumps in price from 20,000-90,000...then down to 50,000. Best weapon for dragoon till 34 I think so it's not so bad.

What the hell is the reason/point of making this so expensive? I've been a dragoon for 20 levels, using the same things i did as a war, and naturally i wanted to try out a lance...but NOPE! can't because this thing is disgustingly overpriced. I don't know about you, but i don't have that kinda money laying around, and if i did i wouldnt spend that much on a level 20 weapon! Am i just gonna have to wait until i can use lances?

You've got to consider, this one lance will last a DRG for 10+ levels, that's got to be worth something. At level 20 the only other decent spear is the Cruel Spear with DMG29/385 (and a few other mods.) The next spear to even approach the damage of this is the Military Spear at 28, and the Royal Squire's Halberd at 30 to match (and beat, based on DMG to Delay).
Sure, it's a lot of money, but having such a strong leg up on the competition at that level would be invaluable to getting through the 20's quickly, I'd think. Yeah, the delay's high, but I was a gaxe-wielding WAR in a previous life, so it's not bad. :-P

I, by some frickin miracle, got my platoon lance for 14k on Siren server. I wasn't even expecting to get it, just put in a random bid and got it. The price history was 70k btw. I nearly pissed my pants when it said "You were able to purchase the Platoon Lance for 14,000 gil".

I got it for 60,000 but the sales were amazing for this kind of weapon. The most recent sales were within 3 real days of when i bought mine, so i could probably sell quickly and inflate the price, because last i checked there were no other platoon lances up for sale.

I bought this for 40K. Very good weapon, can't wait til 34 for another lance :). I was luck enough to find it on AH before another dragoon, hehe. But yes, Shiva, Jeuno AH, 40K+ for this piece of equipment. I feel like a few Dragoon now.

It's not really a quest. I have never done a BCNM before, but as far as I know, you must go to Jeuno (I don't know where in the city, sorry) and trade in the number of beastseals equal to the BCNM lvl you are doing. So in this case 20. After that you will get an Orb. You trade the orb to something in the Outpost (Is it the hut door?) and you will battle the BCNM and if you beat it, and your lucky, it will drop the Lance.

lol... for 20k you may get a chance to see one up close, But if you can find it for that much go for it.
How do you go about doin this quest? Do you just go to the outpost? I was gunna do this quest with my two friends tonight, but it doesn't give too much info on how to do the quest.
