weapon drops is the easy part. its what come safter thats hard. from whati can see, the only real way to upgrade these without spending a fortune, is host your own dynamis runs...most LSes will let u have currency if you host a run. instead of spending billions you only spend millions..haha

So we got a person who is bring Gilsellers into Dynamis on Cait sith named Ryudo. They are trying to sell currency for 50k per single unit and 5mil per 100 unit. Well I guess Relic weapons will become harder to get if you plan on buying currency and items from these FOOLS.

when you get these relic weapons you do the upgrade quests which needs dynamis money and other things like time and lots of it but when your weapon hits the 3rd stage you can do its weapon skill in dynamis only 4th upgraded version of these weapons allow you to do that ws anywhere

Okay, I've heard from friends that the Japs have been playing for 3 years and they have yet to have a fully upgraded Relic weapon. I heard you had to earn dynamis currency which can be traded with gil. I also heard you had to do 400+ dynamis runs in order to earn enough currency to get the final upgrade so no wonder no one has yet to have a fully upgraded one.

The Ito only drops from vanguard militant. I have seen 7 drop and all have been from militants.

from what ive seen and heard about dynamis, relics etc. it goes like this (may be completely wrong but it gives you an idea)
the weapon drops off a certain mob in dynamis (lot on it, win it etc.), take the weapon to the npc (in jeuno i believe) do the quests to upgrade it and there ya go, your relic is now an asskicker...unless its armor then its nicelooking ~.~

Mostly right. The NPC Switchstix is in the entrance of Castle Zvahl and he can upgrade your Relic weapons. It also seems that relic weapons are a relatively common drop in Dynamis. In my last run to Bastok, we got about 4 Relic Axes, 3 Ito (Great Katana), 3 Relic Scythes, and 2 Relic Blades, and that was just in the first hour. Every mob in Dynamis has the potential to drop one of these.

Wow, these weapons get really good, but i want to see "Knights of The Round" in FFVII "Knights of The Round" was the best Avatar... and it looked hardcore!! >< maybe its the same in FFXI (Knights of The Round is a WS the relic sword gets only PLD or RDM can use it i think

"relic weapon" reaaly only has to do with the first form of it. there is an NPC gob wher u upgrade, then u kill some NM, then for the last upgrade, u simply have to go to a certain location.
-the first form has DMG:1 DLY:999
-second one is a bit better
-3rd one is ok, and when used in DYNAMIS get the -special WS, but only in Dynamis
-the forth one is the best. amazing DMG and DLY. an added stat boost. and it can u the WS anywhere it wants... granted it had the needed TP.

Relic weapons, if upgraded to rank 4, carry a hidden WS specific to that weapon... Each weapon type has a true relic weapon... Each relic weapon has an additional WS for it only...
There are actually more than one relic weapon found in dynamis, if you can call all of them relic weapons... Some are useless outside Dynamis... Some, like the Ito here, can be used anywhere... As far as I know... The true relic weapons that can be used anywhere are the only ones that carry the additional WS
