unfortunately they left it out. they also left out the relic horn for BRDs, as well as the relic bow and the relic gun for RNGs. :`(

That is a badazz weapon. Also, who really cares if eyes is lying, i mean if he is it dosnt really matter, and if he isnt than thats just freaking cool. who am i kidding, you've got a point there. i guess i'm just pissed at rightbetweentheeyes because he spreads false information in other places too. for a while he had an FAQ on gamefaqs.com but it was almost all a lie so he was kicked off the site. i actually know for a fact he's lying cause my friend on leviathan has seen a character named "hellbeacon" who's a lvl 10 monk, but your right, it's really not THAT big of a deal...

damn! those weapons are AWESOME!!! too bad those three other ones are missing. oh and it's not another knife that's missing, well i guess it kinda looks like one, but it's the ninja's relic katana.
oh and on a side note about relic weapons, i just thought of an EVIL combination: a lvl 75 RDM / lvl 37 NIN with excalibur (the final relic sword) and mandau (the final relic dagger). RDMs can use both these weapons, and since you're subbing NIN and neither of these are two-handed weapons, you could have BOTH!! the only thing is it's almost impossible to get them both. i expect only a JP player could get them both, and even so they probably won't get them until long after promathia comes out in the US ^^

exactly what is catastrophe? so far i know it's the final scythe weapon skill in ffxi and its origin was from a previous final fantasy game, but who did it originate from and what does the actual skill do to enemies in ffxi?

while i know that relic armor/weapons exists, they are hardly seen for a good reason. they are so damn hard to get not many people have them. and to be honest i fail to believe that any NA player could have reached level 70 - 75 by now. i'm not calling anyone a liar but i have yet to see a 70+ NA player. these are the hardest weapons in the game to get for good reason, they are THE best weapons in the game. i have played this game roughly 3 - 4 months and i not 1 person i have ever checked has had a relic weapon. i have seen only 1 person who had full uncursed armor on, he was a Lv 75 RDM JP player. i've seen parts of relic, and AF2 armor but thats it.
Well on Seraph we've a some high level NA LSs that recruit level 68+ only and I know about 10 level 75 NA players on my side and alot of level 71+, so yes high level NA players exists and are getting pretty common.

on the unicorn server we actually have 5 lv 75 north americans one happens to be inkult lv 75drk. as far as getting all the dynamis items i dont know but, when you have nothing to do and you are on summer vacation from school (ive been out of school for 8 years and working full time thats why im only at 54 ;;) and have nothing better to do. you level fast.

Good lord such pointless flamewars. And here I thought the comments section was for posting USEFUL INFORMATION...
The Apocalypse is the pinnacle of the relic scythe gear attained through multiple visits to dynamis. Mobs there drop the lowest level relic gear, which is downright crap (999 delay, 1 damage, no bonuses). In this case the Relic Scythe comes from Dynamis - Bastok.
From there you have to upgrade the equipment via Switchstix, a goblin parked just inside Castle Zvahl. He will only upgrade equipment for you if you pay him his comission, which changes for each stage of upgrade you perform on the piece of equipment. For example, the first upgrade, from Relic Scythe to Memento Scythe, requires a Mammoth Tusk, Manticore Leather and a Rainbow Obi. None of these three items are particularly easy or cheap to acquire (the Mammoth Tusk is only available by purchase using Dynamis Currency, for example), so it takes considerable effort just to upgrade your Relic Scythe into something remotely usable.
When Switchstix has his comission and his fee (always in dynamis currency) he asks you to come back the next (game) day for your new weapon. This is just for the first upgrade, mind you. Subsequent upgrades have different requirements in terms of materials, comission paid to Switchstix and how long you must wait (stage 2 is one earth week).
The 4th stage items (such as Apocalypse) require tremendous hurdles be cleared which are not as of yet clear to me. You must obtain a 'fragment' and visit the correct spot on the world map to obtain the final form of your weapon, but I don't know too many details past that.

I just find it hard to believe that a LVL 37 SAM could have 0 combat skill for Great Katana. Seems a bit odd to me. But hey, if it is the truth, I would want to be her friend. ^^

I know most of the top NA players on my serverm, have read about the top NA players on many other servers, and I know they're nowhere close to getting full abjurations. I've read of people killing Kirin, and beating dynamis, but certainly no NA having HQ2 gear of high level goldsmithing where there's only a handful of them per server, much less having 2 of them. Also, any good drk would not have half the things he's "got equipped."
I guess we'll find out in 3 weeks since he's "on vacation" eh?

first of all, looking at your equipment list, I can already tell you're a liar. Almost full Crimson gear? I know dozens of high lvl JPN players who've been playing since JPN release and even they don't have all crimson pieces. Also no good DRK wears that stuff. The best DRKs I know wear the Adaman/Armada cursed set. Hades earrings? Why the hell do you want enmity? Are you insane? And Demon rings? You should be wearing sniper rings dumbass. Pretty much all your armor is completely pointless and useless for a high lvl DRK. The only redeeming piece you claim to have is the Wyvern Helm. But then again you probably just saw a high lvl DRK wearing this and thought it looked cool. Also, high lvl DRKs that are successful either sub THF or NIN, for the Sneak Attack / Trick Attack combination and for the Dual Wield, in which case they invest in a Kraken Club (Which, if you really are a 75DRK/SAM with all this gear you claim to have, I'm sure you can afford the 15 million gil price tag) and a nice Axe. How do I know? I'm a 67NIN/WAR and I have SA/TA done onto me all the time and all HNM LSs usually have at least one DRK/NIN. Never have I once seen a DRK sub SAM. Granted Meditate is nice, but it's not something a DRK needs. Apocalypse? BS. I guarantee you you do not have the cash to synth a relic scythe 4 lvls. Upgrading a relic scythe that much requires about 20 million gil. So all in all your Gear costs about a total of...what...35 mil? Of course you have that much. You probably haven't even made it to Jeuno yet. Go get your chocobo license noob.

Numerous people on this thread have offered you a chance to clear your name, so why don't you just name a time, time zone (so there's no confusion) and a specific place to meet them, so they can examine you in all your supposed glory. If they do indeed verify that you have the gear that you claim to have i'll apologize fully for calling you a liar. However, you're still a dumbass for the gear you're using. That's junk, of course, since you're lv 75, you'd know that a DRK needs ACC+ gear, right? Right. Or, let me guess, you don't use your DRK anymore because you're lvling something else up? How do u get this and the other relic weapons. I read how to get it in MysteryTour but I didn't understand anything. Its all so confusing!!! Although it will be a long time before I reach that lvl so I have a long time to figure it out.
The "Relic Scythe" is a Dynamis drop. It's stats don't change in Dynamis or any other random made up BS. In it's initial form the weapon is absolute garbage. However, you can upgrade it a few times (recipes are on Mystery Tour) to turn it into the Apocalypse.
I meant to say how do u upgrade it to its final form. I read the thing on MysteryTour already. There it says that to get it to the third form u need an "Attestation of ...." how do u get that.
It will probably take me a while to get to that lvl but no harm in advanced info.

Ahh I would have played alot and got as high as my friends (Which started exaltly the same time) but I was additive to playing warcraft 3 and Natural-selection at that time.

Um....I'm willing to put some trust in Hellbeacon's post. I'm on Sylph and I've seen a 75DRK with 3 of the Relic AF armor pieces and the Apocalypse. They are out there, you just have to be damn good to get them. I asked him about it, and even though he spoke mainly Japanese, he was able to tell me that he's spent a good majority of the last 3 weeks in Dynamis working to get this stuff. It DOES exist, it's NOT BS, so just CALM DOWN and don't assume everyone is a liar just cause they happen to be a more fortunate player than you. =P

do you have any PROOF that i'm lying?? just because i have all this cool stuff doesn't mean i'm lying. did you ever stop to think that maybe i have it because i've had ffxi since it came out in the states, and that i love the final fantasy series so much that i play hours and hours a day?? well i do. here's my routine after i get home from school, and i've been doing it since the first day i started playing:
3:30 - school's over
3:45 - i arrive home and start homework
4:30 - homework's done, i start playing ffxi
7:00 - stop playing for a while to eat dinner
8:00 - continue playing
12:00 - stop playing and go to bed
that's six and a half hours a day, and that's just on weekdays. usually i'm out doing errands during the day and hanging out with friends at night on saturday, so here's how i spend my sundays:
around 10:00 - wake up, then eat breakfast/lunch
11:00 - start playing ffxi
7:00 - stop playing, eat dinner
8:00 - resume playing
11:00 - go to bed
that's 11 hours!! six hours a day for five days plus eleven hours, that's 41 hours a week! now don't you think it's possible that someone who has played final fantasy xi 41 hours a week since it came out in october might be able to work hard enough to get this gear?

Actually, the rings he's saying he uses are great. It's mostly the other things that don't add up... Like the neck equip... why he would use that over the ACC+4 and ATK+4 or a Ryl.Grds Collar is beyond me... it's cheaper too. The Peacock Charm is even better. Almost all of the gear on his body is either useless or MUCH better suited to another job. Judging by the way he's acted thus far, it's pretty stupid to assume he's even telling 1/10th of the truth. Oh, and about playing that much. You may want to cut back, exercise is important too. n_n

Posted: Jun 03 2004 at 5:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok ok, i might as well come out about this. i'm NOT really a lvl 98 leather and lvl 100 bone. i'm only like a lvl 20 in leather, and i'm 90 in bone. i just put 98 and 100 cause those are the stats needed to craft the wyvern helm, and how i really got it (instead of crafting), was on the AH for 85,000. the reason i made up my craft stats was just cause i thought they'd perfect my already uber stats. well, i'm gonna change my stats to what they really are soon. sorry.

hooray! they posted my scythe! i submitted this about a week or so ago just because i couldn't live without seeing my character's favorite scythe on allakhazam. everybody mambo!! ^^

a) Your sig says your samurai is only 18, but you say it's 37 on your info. The numbers just don't match up.
b) no great katana skill even though you leveled samurai? What, did you use a dagger?
c) your gear is all incorrect, you'd never wear that as a DRK. If you've ever really played high enough for people with decent equipment, you'd know that.
d) using a bow instead of a crossbow? please.

Anyone who knows anything about endgame equipment would know that DRK wouldn't equip 90% of the crap he's wearing... Adaman Hauberk? Yes, please.

Whoa!! u must be one badass player to have gotten this. That thing is SWEET. U get it in Dynamis right? How is the additional ws:Catastrophe like? I wish I had this. Can u send a pic.
Have fun getting it, you need to upgrade the Relic Scythe (A none-too-common-Dynamis drop) about 4 times to get it, same as all the Relic weapons.
Should also be noted that eqipping this lets you use the final Scythe WS, "Catastrophe"

you know there is also a class 5 relic weapon like the apocalypse in every category? including guns. so your culverin + is a piece of crap compared to it.
blaxbgh's right you know. the class 5 relic gun's called the annihilator. it's a kick-*** looking shotgun with 47 damage and 582 delay, plus ranged accuracy +20 and ranged attack +10. load this bad boy up with cannon shells and the next eagle-eye shot you use could take down a freakin' NM in one shot!!!!
......well, ok, it probably wouldn't be THAT powerful, but still, think about it!
