Mercy Stroke is Thf's Relic Weapon skill. You can only use the weapon skill 'Mercy Stroke' with this dagger in your main hand!

The poison is sick also... its a hugee cloud of poison no other spell or weapon does it its mandau only.

mandau has the added effect of poison. mercy stroke dramatically increases the rate of cricitals after weapon skill. i forgot how long it last but i have seen it in action... amazing

No kidding... as if you could magically use the WS for dagger when main is sword... There is no purpose to DW Excallibur and Mandau... other than to show off you have more gil than you know what to do with.

Look... People keep saying "Duel Wield" this with the Excalibur. Obviously this is probably a great plan. However, talking about using "Mercy Stroke" and if it can be used in the off-hand... What the hell is wrong with you? You do KNOW what "Knights of the Round" does correct? No? For every 100% TP used (rounded down) you become Invincible (as per the PLD 2-hour) for 5 seconds. Now unless the Mercy Stroke WS effect is something equally sick...
(i heard it just increases Criticals... which when you are using Excalibur and Mandau isnt great since you dont get crit damage from the "Additional effect" of the Excalibur...)

First off, you would have to be a red mage subbing ninja in order to offhand this, secondly, it's a little farfetched to offhand this, and like the other guy said, the invincible effect only kicks in every once in a while. Would be a semi-smart plan but I don't think you're able to obtain two weapon skills, especially having this in off hand I would think the effect is non-latent and also disables you from using the weapon skill since we're obviously offhanding it and mainhanding a sword. Not to mention, whatever type of weapon is in your main hand, it uses that type of weapon skills (club = club weapon skills, so on and so forth).

This dagger is owned by a guy by the name of Cleen on Fenrir server. He isn't the richest, possibly far from it. It's just that his dynamis ls is a very well organized ls. From what I've heard they give the bills and stuff to people doing the upgrades and really commit to the ls. This way there ls grows stronger and stronger along with getting better strategies, more experience as a group, and more.

hey just wondering if any 1 knows what affects the mercy stroke WS. i mean like dancing edge's acc iss affected by tp and it has a chr modifier. shark bite has big dex modifier and its dmg is affected by tp and such, just wondering if any 1 has ANY idea what mercy stroke is affected by and how it is affected. maybe if someone can convince someone w/ this dagger on thier server to hold the cursor over the mercy stroke WS to see what affects it and take a pic of it?

Would that combo work? With the Martial in your main hand and Mandau in your other. Or do you need Mandau in your main hand to have Mercy Stroke? Cause that combo would just plain own. >.> then again Stylet+Martial would be damn good too.

I'm gonna guess that as mercy Stroke is a dagger weaponskill, you would need to have a dagger in your main to use it.
So, get Mandau, and offhand it with a Martial Knife :D

"TP bonus" is bound to the weapon, so offhanding the martial would be about as useful as having a mandau in your mog safe since you don't do the ws with your offhand weapon. . .
RDM/NIN is the only job that can dual wield relic weapons. Excalibur + Mandau = death.

I heard that WS gives a chance of Additional Effect: Death. lol since the Scythe WS has a drain effect, this WS is bound to give SOMETHING useful.

the cost is actually a lot more then this. for some reason alla does not list the upgrade costs of the third and 4th form of the weapon. but it is said to be 40+ silverpieces for the 3rd form and 100 silverpieces for the forth form. this is what i have come to understand reading off of a ton of sites and compiling all the information. so it looks like a finished relic weapon could take 100mil + this does not seem that weird considering that the kraken club and other items can go for up to 40mil. and they are bought rather commenly. so if a mere 10 mil was the only holdback you would see alot of players weilding relics ^^

Orichalcum Ingot (also very expensive)
Deodorizer
400 Byne Bills (or 4 100 Byne Bills) (ditto)
Upgrades to Malefic Dagger
Brass Dagger
Poison Dagger
Misericorde
14 Montiont Silverpieces (ouch, very expensive)
Upgrades to Dynamis Dagger[
Attestation of Celerity ("free" but drops off Hydra type mobs, and that's if you win lot on one of them, if you are allowed to lot on them at all (don't expect to unless you pony up party of the cost of the Hourglass. Doing so is a fast way to get booted and never be invited to another Dynamis run again)

Couple corrections -- at least I think they're corrections and not misinformation. :)
Attestation is for Batardeau (and only from triggered NMs in Beaucedine).
Fragment is for Mandau (and only from triggered NMs in Xarcabard).
Attestation drops from the Hydra NMs (not the random Hydras). I'm not 100% certain of this, since it's hard to prove a negative. But, I've been doing a lot of Beaucedine and never seen one from a non-NM Hydra. One *always* drops from the NM Hydras. They are called "Hydras" not because they look like dragons or the mythical hydra, but because they have more than one job. The NMs have 3 jobs.
BTW, just got my attestation today -- very lucky.
To put things in perspect for those that might want the final dagger, I've been doing Dynamis pretty much as often as possible for over a year (roughly twice a week for most of that time, once a week recently). From my share of drops, I have about 70 bills & coins. I need another 330 bills and 1330 coins. Obviously, if I want to upgrade I'll have to increase the rate at which I acquire currency or plan on doing Dynamis for another 15-20 years.
Looks like it's time to start farming gil and buying currency. ><

I love this dagger, but I can see someone putting it away when fighting HNMs or soloing something hard.
Why? The poison effect. You would be unable to sleep the mob incase of trouble, and that would make you more of a liability than an asset.

I really hope the Poison effect on the weapon is more like Venom or Poison 3, or that effect would be pretty pointless. I love the ATTK+20 though.
