I love this sword. I got it as a drop when I was 41WHM from the BCNM. I kept it as a trophy in my bazaar. Then, I decided to actually level RDM. I'm now 53RDM and everytime I solo with RDM/NIN I use this sword paired up with the AF Degen. The +1DEX is definately a plus, even though I'd use the sword just for the Sword Enchantment buffs. Ever since level 40 I haven't been let down. ^^ Highly recommended sword, and for 3-5k on Seraph server, how can ya go wrong? ^^b

Paralyze???

Can anyone answer this question please; Does this awesome sword that l bought at lvl 40 have a latent affect Paralyze. Since the day l bought it, easyprey/descent mobs suffer this wonderfully useful affect:). Now l may have bought some other item at the same time that might be causing it, but l dont think so.
Has anyone else noticed this???

At 40 you also got Ice Spikes, which causes Paralyze when monsters physically attack you and get hit by the spikes.

bought this baby today for 75k (runs 70-80 on ragnarok). big diff i've noticed is of course the enspell damage +2. this'll probably last me a bit :)

Edit: price has dropped to about 8k... ><

Being that I am a dogged meleer as far as Redmage is concerned, I was very happy get this sword for 49k (On Leviathan). I must say that it was a very wise purchase, it deals more damage than my AF Degen, with the same delay. Add to that the easily noticed additional effects for weapon enhancement damage and you've got a sword that is perfect for a melee-loving Redmage such as myself...

I bought this sword a couple weeks ago on Quetzalcotl for a whopping 120k but I have to say it was worth every penny. Me being an elvaan love the extra dex that it gives and the enspell duration is great for soloing. I have also found that for me anyway it is far superior to the degen. Shame to all of you that would switch from this to the degen for casting. The +1 to both mnd and int pales in comparison to any stat boosts offered by solid wand. Also the degen does less damage and has less accuracy. Its only redeeming quality is that it is hella fun to duel wield with ninja sub. Im just kinda angry that after all the work I did for it I cant sell it for a bit of gil..grr. Well good luck to any Redmage trying to get this item. In my opinion its a must. Gonna last me till the knights sword+1.

I got my Buzzard Tuck for about 89k in Jeuno on Quetzalcotl. This is a great sword and worth the gil. I also got my Fencing Degen so when I am 41, I'll switch between the two. Fencing Degen when healing and casting, and Buzzard Tuck when meleeing. Great stuff. Also would be great to dual wield the two if Ninja is subbed.

Been playing with this weapon since it was first available...while I really didn't notice that much difference in the duration of the En-spells, I did notice a difference in the dmg....from +3 up to +10 on some mobs. This could also vary depending on ur sword skill and lvl status. I haven't really used my Degen yet, just finished quest last nite, but I plan on leveling NIN and seeing what kind of dmg I can do with both equipped. I agree that THIS sword shoulda been the AF1 tho...so much nicer, and while you can cheaply add either DEX or INT, the enhancement is priceless.

Hey all you know what is fun level your ninja up dual yeild this whith the enhancing sword and the fencer's ring which is also +5 to sword enhancing and let the fun begin. Not sure what would be more fun dual yeild it like i said above, or kraken club with and joyeuse sword tough call.

As a lvl 46 RDM, I just gotta say that the last 4 levels have been incredibly joyous with this weapon. Went out and got it from a friend who lent it to me as soon as I saw it on here, and it instantly replaced my AF sword for whenever I melee in groups.
+2 spell enhancement damage really owns when you're farming, too. Makes mobs drop a little bit faster. And we all know that every little bit helps, no?

i use this sword as my Sub-weapon as my RDm when i farm, and as main when i fight my AF degen is pretty *** not really worth the trouble, except u have to do it for the rest of the Af, i think this and the degen should be reversed, by this becoming the AF sword

The only thing that you can upgrade to that has sword enhancement spell dmg+ is the enhancing sword which is REALLY rare drop and REALLY expensive.

It definitely should have been AF1... it's actually useful, unlike the degen, which is too easily replaced by a solid wand or somesuch.

I like pretending to be the (archduke) against bees with it. Now, if there was only a way to juice my en- spell damage through the roof :P

keep your enhancing skill up

IF(skill>150)
enspell = (skill / 20 + 5)
else

I agree. I am torn every time I leave my mog. Carry the Degen cause Im proud that I finished the quest or the Buzzard Tck that a very special friend loaned me (Thanks Ezaro). If I'm Xping I use a solid wand at lvl 47 and carry the Tuck. I have used the Tuck since lvl 40 for farming or the occasional melee. I will send this back to EZ about lvl 55 or so as I maybe get a Royal Guard's Fleuret (+6 acc) (because I'm an Elvan and cant hit the broad side of a Dhalmel's A$$).

OR a Wise Wizard's Anelace(lvl 55 +14 attack),
Gold sword (lvl 62)
Enhancing Sword (lvl68)
Who knows after that.......

^&^ Later

I originally thought the sword enhancement applied to all spells, not just en- spells, which means i thought it would be better than AF1, which means i am an idiot. I think i would rather have +1MND, +1 INT, and +10 MP than an extra 2 DMG per swing. Maybe i will keep it for soloing as RDM/NIN. Anyway, thanks for clearing this up for me.

I really think this should have been the AF1. It's just wrong that there's no way for a RDM to quest out this weapon, or fight an NM for it.

I thought for the longest time that this WAS the AF1, so the Degen (while it does make me happy) was a little bit of a disappointment.
