Oriental Steel A friend of mine threw this item out (did not LOSE it, he dropped it) when he needed space. He cannot trade Darksteel to the NPC to get a new piece now. Is he SOL?

I stupidly went after Forger as a solo 30/15 WAR/MNK and got forged. If you get killed by Forger, you lose the oriental steel.
I went back to the NPC for another and she told me that she would only give me another one in exchange for a piece of darksteel ore (as robertsmith said). That's 18k on Cerberus server. With help from friends I got it the second time and finished the SAM quest.

Used in Samurai Flag Quest. Trade the Oriental Steel to a ??? in the cave at (d-9) in konschtat highlands. This will spawn a level 30-35 NM named Forger (bomb type mob). Defeat Forger and it will drop the Bomb Steel needed for the Quest.
Me: Alright I'll tank and the War will back upvoke

just remember...lot for it if you in a party to recieve the bombsteel. otherwise you lose it and have to do it the hard way...like me.
