Level 30 Subjob Items

There are level 30 Earrings, Shields, Belts and Mantles that all trigger on Latent Effects. These all correspond with a job.
All of them activate via Subjob. Nothing else will trigger these to activate, NOT main job, ONLY subjob.
The newest jobs (Blu, Cor, Pup) do not have these items (as of 7/27/06).
Subjob: Bard - Singer's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Song Belt)
Subjob: Beastmaster - Trimmer's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Pick Belt)
Subjob: Black Mage - Wizard's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Staff Belt)
Subjob: Dark Knight - Killer (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Scythe Belt)
Subjob: Dragoon - Wyvern (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Lance Belt)
Subjob: Monk - Wrestler's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Cestus Belt)
Subjob: Ninja - Genin (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Sarashi)
Subjob: Paladin - Esquire's (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Shield Belt)
Subjob: Ranger - Beater's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Gun Belt)
Subjob: Red Mage - Warlock's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Rapier Belt)
Subjob: Samurai - Ashigaru (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Katana Obi)
Subjob: Summoner - Magician's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Avatar Belt)
Subjob: Thief - Pilferer's (Earring, Mantle, Aspis, Dagger Belt)
Subjob: Warrior - Mercenary's (Earring, Mantle, Targe, Axe Belt)
Subjob: White Mage - Healer's (Earring, Mantle, Shield, Mace Belt)

There are other Latent effect items that trigger at different things such as Low HP, <100% tp, a bard song on you, This is NOT one of those items.
The only thing that activates these items is your subjob.

as a blm this is the 1st shield i can use and is 60k cheaper than the other blm shield that only adds to 3 to all resistances so the 4 defense this adds is very good for lvls to come as a blm :D

Actually, some BST will use BST as a sub while farming with a higher level job. I sub my 12 BST to 30 WAR to farm sometimes, but only because my THF is only 7 ;)

Also, I know many BST who chose to level WHM by subing BST instead of trying to party as a WHM, especially through the Dunes levels :)

I think the lvl 30 shields' latent effects are triggered like the lvl 30 earrings' ones, so ...

Trimmer
Latent Effect Trigger: Must have BST as sub-job

Sub BST, eh?

WHM/BST
RDM/BST
PLD/BST
SMN/BST

I don't think I'll be seeing many people with those combos...

You just listed 3 of the best jobs to sub BST to solo lol. Even SMN/BST is decent cuz you can charm a pet, rest mp, then when ur pet dies, call carby to finish the mob. You'd have to be very careful though cuz you could only cure yourself w/ a bloodpact ><

Personal Opinion: BST is one of the most underrated subs. I can charm Ts w/ my whm and solo as my whm just by subbing bst if I wanted to. It's great for farming as well as exploring and helping with quests when you're low on DDs and are going to an area where there's pets that may be able to help.

Example of the above:
I helped a Ninja with his AF piece battle involving 3 Sahagan NMs in Yhoat. I charmed a Master Coeurl which did GREAT damage and helped out a lot since we were a bit shy on the DD category.

Not saying that it is completely stupid to farm w/o TH, but if you do have a high lvl mage and you want to farm, charm would last pretty long w/ the jobs you listed because they have a really high chr, and have a monster fight for you beats wasting your own hp/mp
