Would this be worth keeping around after you get your light staff, if you are charming EM? My understanding is that Light/Apollos staff doesn't effect charm duration. If you are charming EM, maybe this axe in conjunction with your af would make for less chance of your pet coming uncharmed during fight

wow this axe goes for 900g-2000g on Seraph... I buy them when I think about it and sale to NPC for profit.

Monster signa vs De Saintre's Axe.
Against tough crab (the same one) at sea serpent grotto.
Monster signa - 2 mins 30 sec - exact
De Saintre's Axe - 2 mins 30 sec - exact
Other non CHR weapon - not done.
Charm success rate - not done.
Hopefully someone can test that out with 1000 subject XD

The Charm+1 doesn't have much effect on toughs or higher, it's like a 2 second difference max. Against EM and lower you can tell the difference.

only reason why the thing is so good yet so cheap is because it drops every time you do royal jelly just thought you'd all like to know that but otherwise a really good axe for bst
I have done several royal jelly and I have never seen this drop.

I'm not quite sure why this is so cheap. For BST/NIN.. This offhand with AF axe would be fantastic. I'm currently using it with mythril axe whilst I EXP to 40.

I just hit lvl 39 today and I use this and it's pretty cool. At lvl 40 I will get Barbaroi Axe and use both that and De Saintre's Axe.

This axe rarely ever goes past 3000g on Fairy. I bought it for 2000 while history was mostly 1000-1500. A great Axe so far. I am loving it.
I used both of these.I found that this was better when I did DC vs EM (so I didn't take hate off my pet as much) and AF weapon for EM vs tough (since chr helped charm the EM pet and more dmg and str+ helped do more dmg to the monster without pulling hate from my pet ^^
You can keep your TP, and have a better chance to charm. I am going to buy now(20k) last one for sale.

Apologies but can someone briefly explain the difference between CHR and Charm?
My only concern about this axe (which costs just 7K on Bahamut now) is, in using Monster Signa, I can't use the axe at the same time.

If you are a BST, your AF Barbaroi Axe will be much more useful and only 1 level away from this one.

I prefer this axe over the barbaroi axe. The +2 CHR and +2 STR don't make up for +1 Charm.

The history was a steady 100k. It sold after about 10-12 days. The AH returned it to me once, and it sold a day or two later. Mine was the only one on the AH for the entire time. The price history seemed to show that this was a fairly rare item, as the first one sold over 2 months prior.

So far one has sold on Bahamut for the princely sum of 300k. I won't be indulging myself with the AF Axe a level or so after this. i can only speculate, but i reckon this is most likely a BCNM drop.
Does anyone know if there is some sort of quest you do to get this item? I think it would be a very high amount of gil just like the BlackMage and Summoner AF counterparts at level 40... ; ;
