Killed 6 Maledictors and no drop. Went outside and killed one Jinxer, drop. So it seems from what other people said and my own experience that Jinxer drops them more
Tonberry Trailers in Den of Rancor also drop these.
Doing ZM-4 I only saw the unlit lanterns drop off the Imps, Jinx, and Maleditors, never the Trailers. Its possible they may actually drop it, I suggest you ignore them though, if anything the drop rate is lower on them than on the others.

this isnt where we found them and wasted a good bit of time going to left hallway exit and looking there. We found one Jinxer on top lvl of outside of Temple of Ug on the other outside part, same as you go to get to painting room for den. It dropped a testimony, but we didnt see but one and we didnt want to wait on repop, so we went to Den and camped Maledictors at the zone...

I farmed for this item a couple of days ago. After a couple of hours camping the few Maledictors in the Temple we decided to zone out to Yhoator and try the Tonberry Jinxers. We killed 3 and we got 3 Unlit Lanterns, so if the drop isn't 100% is very close to that (we didn't even have treasure hunter). The Jinxers also are of lower level than the maledictors and spawn in a much safer area outside the temple. If you wan't to find them, from the main entrance of the Temple go left at the first intersection and zone out at (K-3). You will be at (J-9) in Yhoator Jungle, in a zone that can't be reached from outside the Temple. Here there will be 1-2 Tonberry Jinxers, kill them and wait for the next respawn, if you have the same drop rate we had, it will take 15-20 minutes to get the 4 Unlit Lanterns needed for ZM-4.

Drop rate is far from 100% even with TH2 in your party. They're not hard to fight, just hard to find the right mobs considering you have to sometimes pull bees and other types of tonberries before having a clear pull. Maledictors seem to be the easiest to fight, just bind, silence and nuke away. 3 IV spells will take them down to under 5% with any decent BLM.

Imprectars in Den of Rancor past the Paintbrush gate do indeed drop unlit lanterns; in fact, they're much easier to kill as they spawn close to the zone, and you can camp in the tunnel nearby at (H-6). They also seem to drop more frequently there.
Imprecator also drops it;
