[Orange]wa·sa·bi ( P ) Pronunciation Key (wäs-b, w-sä-)
n.
A very pungent green Japanese condiment made from the root of the herb Eutrema wasabi.

[/white] Hmmm What that tells me, is that Wasabi just happens to be a Root of a plant... Which makes it a plant.. Ground Wasabi may be used in things such as ketchup. Everything comes from some place. [/white]

I've looked about everywhere and only found Norg, Port Bastok, and The Tenshodo HQ in lower Jeuno to sell them. Yes they run steep even with maxed Tenshodo fame I have to pay 1,945 Gil for a jar. For those who was wondering who sells them I only remember Jabbar in Warehouse 2 in port Bastok selling it, that one NPC on the boat/barge thing nearby the water from Norg zone entrance and the Tenshodo seller behind the door you needed to be a member to enter to see Aldo (forgot to catch name on both Norg and Tenshodo NPCs).

If trying to get to either Norg or into Tenshodo HQ is a problem, just use Bastok's branch for wasabi. They also sell rice Vinegar too, so that's 2 ingredients for sushi down on 1 trip. Finally, It'd be so nice if someone does find secret to making own wasabi, because paying for wasabi and the fish you use runs up cost to make sushi.

Has there been any way found if this ingredient is synthable? That would be nice because, as Tathum said, 2k each is pretty expensive. It also seems very far out of the way, if I went to buy some of this, I would definitely load right up on it to save me more trips.

Thankfully only lasted about 5 minutes.

I wonder if there's a way to synth this...

It's basically just horseradish and a bit of coloring. It would be kinda nice because 2k apiece is a steep price to pay to enter the sushi ring.

Thankfully everything else to make sushi is kinda cheap...

Assuming there is one, whoever discovers the gardening recipe for wasabi is going to make a mint.

If I manage it, you can be certain that I'll keep a tight lid on that secret.

Have you grown fire crystals from vegetable seeds in real life? Have you grown ore from trees irl? Do rabbits only have 2 legs? Do buffalos look like demon warthogs? I think real life doesn't always apply in the final fantasy world. But I suppose you would grow wasabi root from herb seeds and then synth it into wasabe if this game was realistic.

The dictionary is wrong. Ketchup isnt spicy. And there's no ketchup in Final Fantasy. That's Earthbound.

Quote:

ketch·up n. A condiment consisting of a thick, smooth-textured, spicy sauce usually made from tomatoes.

I wonder what else they make ketchup from. Scary thought.

root of an Asian herb (Eutrema wasabi)

The plant for ketchup is not named Ketchup...

Wasabi is indeed the actual root and/or herb and not just a seasoning as it is used today.

Please read http://homepage3.nifty.com/maryy/eng/wasabi.htm if your curious on this herb.

Please please do not spout off random definitions without follow-up research on the origonal item in question. It makes you look stupid and you dont want that. Do you?
