in my case, sidewinder, wipes them out in 1 go
so does barrage
poison rarely sticks , <3 resist poison
terrible drop rate though

I agree with Aidusx I rape these as 62 BLM .
I Fire III . then Bio II Poison II almost out runs their Regen Effect. Have Fire III ready for when they come out of their shell. It's all in the timing.
I've never leveled a melee job past 30. If I had to guess though, just build TP off of it when it is hiding and wepon skill when it comes out of its shell.
The drop rate isn't exatly desireable though.

lol 9 months later... price on Odin is still strong at 22k. I got 10 of these things farming for 4 hours. Killed em easily as 71RDM/35WHM, poison wasn't a problem, plus I was hasting myself with my Joyeuse. Oonly problem was I got 10 drops outta maybe 100 kills. Drop rate isn't crap, just very low. Along with Shells I also farmed clots, and they are 25k each (pulled in 2 outta 60). Now THOSE are a horrid drop rate. At least I managed about a quarter million in half a days work.

so i went out to go exploring and to go claming in a new area. Well i see a famililar name and so i ask for and invite and we all start to go clamming...well after a while we started seeing some live 60+ doods killing these. so we started killing them with a lvc 60 thf in the pt and a 70 pld and then me a lv 43 BLM XD. after bout the 3rd we get this drop all lot and i get it. i didnt know how much it was at the time but after the thf said 10k i was sooo bhappy however the poison is REALLY bad and it takes forever to kill them without knowing the secret to it!

The (admittedly massive) Regen effect they get is only when they retract their head. And it can be dispelled.

its defense is weak when its head pops up, just save your powerful attacks till it does and you will drop it quick^^

I fought one of those guys on the beach, and while it took a little while to kill it, I was able to solo it without losing too many hp. I'm a lvl 54 rdm. I got the shell on the first kill.
Sells for around 5k on my server. I know what you're thinking, "I'll go farm Uragnites and get rich".
Unless you are lvl 70+, don't even think about it. These things are worse than tonberries. Even the low level ones on the beach that are "too weak" to a lvl 40 will p0wn you at lvl 60. They have disgustingly high DEF and a permanat regen effect that gives them around 15 hp per tick. But the worst thing about them is that they spam the most rediculously powerfull poison AoE you've ever seen quite literally back to back. It takes around 15-20 hp per tick and they will spam it every single round untill it sticks (don't wait for it to wear off, it won't before you are dead). The second you are cured of the poison the damn thing will immediatly start spamming Toxin Shell untill it sticks again.
We fought one, barely beat it and then only by calling help and dog piling it, and then swore off ever trying to farm these unholy things again.

u dont no wat u talking about u proly just hitting them without looking wat u doin they r realy easy to kill ima drk lvl 63 and 1 guillotine almost kill them like 9/10 hp... so think before talking and btw drop are horrible but no RMT to steal claim so i prefers those to gobbue in zitah
