Moogle Chocobo
# Mar 24 2005 at 6:52 PM Rating: Decent
As i recall when digging in this website i did see some1 w/ a chocobo in thier mog house. I believe it was while i was looking up relic weapons. I tried looking for it again but cant seem to find it. It was a pic of a Drk equipped w/ Apocalypse and in his mog house there was a Chocobo w/ Moogle over it head. Can anyone help me find it... I KNOW i've seen the pic on this site but i cant find it anymore.

all they did was change the .dat file of the moogle to look like a choco, i did this with my rdm af and made it black with crimson designs, its really quite simple to do

not sure if this is the same thing but you said that the chocobo had "Moogle" over its head...so what im thinking is someone changed the charactor skin for the moogle into a chocobo on his/her PC.

that might be what it was.
Chocobo Bedding and quest..

After you have done the Promethia Missions up to either Chapter 3 or 4, you go to Ru'Lude Garden and talk to Taillegeas at (I-7) in the Dining Hall. He will tell you that Nag'molada has guest who request strange items. The quest name is "Ducal Hospitality". The 3 items that he will ask you to get are a Chocobo Bedding, My First Magic Kit, and Kaiserin Cosmetics. All 3 items come from the Airship Dock Npc of the 3 main cities. The Chocobo Bedding is from Sandoria, the Magic Kit is from Windy, and the Cosmetics are from Bastok. Once you have purchased all 3 items, head back to the Dining Hall and trade to Taillegeas who will then give you 4000 gil and a new title "Ducal Dupe".

If you have been following the posts about the Strange Apparatae which produces items from a Colored Chip and a Core (dropped in Dynamis but available at AH under other), there is a request for a password when you use the Apparatae. So far, no one seems to know the password. You can still get an item from the apparatae but the belief is that if you have the password, you might get something better or actually pick which item the machine produces. Anyway, in people's scouring of sites for any clue to the password, there has been a reference made to a quest from the Ru'Lude Garden Dining Hall. I wonder if this is the beginning of the answer to the password question.

actully the strange apparatus password is based off of your name. there is a website out there that will translate it for you and give you the password. I know it works cause I've used it several times. Only thing different that I've noticed is that I get rune weapons more often.

"Sold for ->approximately<-: 1826 gil"

Not necisarrily true. It goes for exactly 1800g for me (I'm on Asura with level 8 San d'Oria fame). It would be cool to get your own chocobo, but I doubt it's ever gonna' happen. If it does though, I imagine the NPC Elvaan guard with his personal chocobo standing beside him at the Auction House in Port San d'Oria (same zone this bed is sold in) would have something to do with the quest. (Note: 'talking' to his chocobo gets him to say something different than if u talk to him) I'd try this out myself, but I'm saving every ounce of gil I get to buy Leaping Boots and Emporer's Hairpin... -_o;;
clear up some stuff
# Feb 03 2005 at 4:43 AM Rating: Default
lmao..um "Approximately" means somewhere in the general area of 1826...i would say that 1800 is pretty frickin close to 1826, so yes, "approximately 1826" IS true......but anyway, i'm guessing this affects choco riding time or perhaps digging (i'm suprised no one has said that)...one of the jp sites has more info on this (mysterytour maybe? not sure and can't find it now...i was hoping to find it here.../sigh)...oh, and below is talk about purchase of an airship pass: the only airship pass that can be purchased is the Kazahm one--the windy/sandy/bastok to/from jeuno pass must be attained through rank 5

Then why don't they sell it in the Kazham airship branch? No, you can buy the one for bastok/windy/sandy from there.

Okay, the NPC guard's name is 'Maunadolace'. This is what he says:

------------------------------------------------

(what he says when you talk to him)
Maunadolace : I am Maunadolace of the Temple Knights, on order from the prince to watch the auction house. I would love to chat, but I'm on duty.

(what he says when you talk to his chocobo)
Maunadolace : A Fine chocobo, is she not? My tried and true companion, mine since she was but a chick.
Maunadolace : Admittedly, I'd rather be out in the field, doing battle with fiends, not standing here monitoring...commerce.

------------------------------------------------

This is all without any Chocobo Bedding in my Mog House. I've thought about trading some Chocobo Bedding to him, but it occured to me... you can't trade EX items. =P

Other possible NPC's that might have some role to play in any of this:
•Any NPC in or outside the chocobo stables in Upper Jeuno (likely because this is where the Chocobo Licence quest takes place)
•The Beastmaster you speak with during the quest to unlock the BST Advanced Job (likely because he owns a Chocobo Ranch from my understanding, also because he 'makes up' with his personal chocobo during the quest)
•Someone in or around the chocobo stable in your home country (likely because there are many quests that take place in structures from your own country [but not limited to that country][i.e. the Mog Safe Expansion series of quests])
•Your Moogle after having the Chocobo Bedding in the layout of your Mog House from before the sunday Conquest Update untill after it (likely because it might work exactly like the Mog Safe Expansion series of quests and similar quests [like how your moogle gives you Scope's Operetta {a Bard song-scroll} if you have a certain type of furniture in the layout of your Mog House]).

That's all I can think of... I don't have the time to thoroughly explore these possibilities, so I'm posting them here in hopes that someone who does have the time will read this and explore them him/herself.

[edit] Edited it to make the "Other possible NPC's that might have some role to play in any of this:" section a tad bit more readable.

hmmm, i was readin your post when i came across some false information >< you said this and i quote "...and i remembered you can't trade EX.."
this is not true, you can trade most EX items to NPCs, if you couldn't there would be no BCNM! ><

Actually, if you stand in the far corner of the airship agency room, you can use tab to select the vendor in the airship-pass-only area and click enter... If you're in the right spot, you can buy/sell with him ;)

# Dec 19 2005 at 5:37 AM Rating: Decent
thanks to an update to stave off cheating in the BCNM against the orcs, I think you can no longer trade through walls. Though it may also be that I have not found the "right spot" yet, but I will continue trying.
RE: reqs
# Jan 15 2006 at 3:19 AM Rating: Decent
Seconded, I lately tried to buy thru the wall, and each time it just would cancel the targeting. Tried in every which way possible to target and all same effect. It's no longer possible, at least on the Shiva server, and would be ignorant of me to think its just one server.

Actually no! i see where you are getting at with rank 5. You get the airship pass at rank 5. But you dont need to be rank 5 to get the airship pass. You can buy an airship pass. I forget for how much but you can buy one for a lot of gil.

Airship passes sell for 500k somewhere in Jeuno, I think in Lower Jeuno across from the AH in that shop place.

Yes I can confirm the Airship is obtained either buy attaining rank 5 or purchasing it for 500k in the "Chamber of Commerce" in lower Jueno across from the Auction house. What use is there for this item other then something to put in your moghouse ?

All of these new furnishings are sold all the time, regardless of the nation's place in conquest - before the servers died last night, I rode the airship to all three nations and collected the new furnishings. Bastok was in last place, and their store still carried it along with Copper Ore.

While it's probably too much to hope this is an indication we'll get personal Chocobos, they're all EX so I do expect that these items will trigger quests from our Moogles, much like the Cupboard bought in the San d'Oria furniture store.

Yeah, I want a personal Chocobo so bad. Then we could do quests to change the color of our chocobo to our personal choice.

This is sold at the airship building shop in San'doria. You need to have an airship pass to get inside.
