I mine these all the time. I have 26GS and 25BS. i'd give myself about a 60/40 chance of getting gold ingots. I do believe having a sub job of smithing will increase the likelyhood of a HQ 2 for these.
I desynth about 30 of these a day with 57 goldsmithing skill, and overwhelming lightning energy moghancement desynthesis. Out of those 30 I usually get 3 gold ingots, I read one of the previous posts stating a far better running record than that, and I notice that you had 51 smithing as well. My smithing skill is only at 22, Im starting to think this has a subcraft requirement of smithing
Desynthesis doesn't follow the same rules as synthesis. Lightning moghancement reduces the risk of breaking and losing items so does Lightningday. For best HQ results you should try either fullmoon darksday or earthday.
This may be true. My goldsmithing level is 37, but my blacksmithing is level 21 and I have desynthed 4 of these with twice the end result being gold ingots. Even with my goldsmithing level being so low, i have a whopping 50% success rate! Obviously, a very lucky occurance given the small data pool, but maybe the blacksmithing does play a role in the desynth. Gonna try for a few more and see what happens...

So far Ive put 51 tarutaru stools in my MH for Overwhelming Lightning energy, Ive tried desything from 75% waxing moon through 75% waning moon on dark, light, and lightningsday, facing S-SW and have moghancement:desythesis? I'm at 51 GS and Ive been losing money desything for a while now. I'm going to try to desynth these now but Im not looking forward to it :/ If anyone knows anything else I can do to improve desythesis plz /tell me on the Kujata server.
I don't know if it's just me, but I've always had great luck de-synthing facing NW. I had first noticed it while de-synthing Sapara @ Bastok Airship dock, I was getting HQ2 silver ingot alomst every time. Like I said though, I'm on Seraph and I de-synth GS facing NW. Moblin Mail Record - 4gold/20mail...(½ on full moon, ½ on new moon) only 2 crit failures...the other 14 were brass x3.

Occasionally I get 3 brass ignots from these, but get more Gold Ignots. From my experience best to craft from lightnings day-earthsday. Best results for gold are darskday, firesday, and mostly on earthsday(wierd huh? lol) To get mogenhance:desythn with lightning based elem fill your room with tarutaru stools, bought cheap from npc in windy waters, H-5 i think, store closest to MH. Also wastebasket from selbina quest, or some mask that starts with a T and is currently hard to find. All the other lightning furniture overrides the Desynth effect, so dont even buy it. Stools take up alot of space in safe, I am at 52/80 with just furniture (50 stools, wastebasket, mannequin), but desythning is so worth it. Easy money. Desynthing is good in all crafts, but for best results you should be capped in making the item. For example if you were high enough in goldsmithing to make a ice bead, you could buy an icestaff for 20-40k break it down, get an icebead out of it and sell the icebead for 100k-200k
Wow. Interesting. I'm lvl 56.3+1 in goldsmithing and I can't desynth these to save my life either. I mine in Oldton and have tried to desynth on various moon phases with no luck, save the occasional Brass Ingot.

From all the mails that i've dsynthed, it seems like the first 3 HQs are 3 brass. I've dsynthed many of these suckers while mining and all i've ever gotten are brass in sets of 3 or 1 gold ingot. Just like the moblin helm, the gold ingot is really hard to get ^^.
would have to desynth into a full stack on ingots or something >.> the moblin mail and moblin helms sell for 3k+ on my server... that's a hell of alot of cash to desynth brass ingots
Has anyone tried to desynth these with a lightning crystal yet? Maybe when some of my stuff sells, I will try to get my hands on a few of these to see what you can get.
