Sha'ir Manteel

The reason people are marking it up between 25 and 50 million is so they can make a profit. Some people are thinking that this item costs 8million to make, and unfortunately, that isn't the case. Yes, it CAN be made for 8million + other materials, but realistically, these subligars are breaking more than they are actually desynthing into Cashmere. I purchased 3 Subligars on Ramuh, and had a 100+3 Clothcrafter do the desynth. The first one broke, the second one turned into 3 Cashmere, and the third HQ'd and turned into a Shining Cloth. A friend of mine on Ramuh did the same thing, and broke all 3 times. Lovelovelove wouldn't sell her Manteel for less than 40 million because it cost her 50million in breaks just to get.

This Manteel can be made for around 9 million in troubles, but you have potential breaks on 3 different levels...
Desynthing the Subligar (95+ Cloth)
Synthing the Cashmere thread into Cloth (95+ Cloth)
Synthing the Manteel (Goldsmithing + Cloth Sub).

I hope this better explains why people are asking so much for their Manteels, as I learned from experience, it's a stressful, expensive, and exciting part of the game. I don't mean to discourage, by all means, I was pretty happy when my subligar didn't break, but definitely prepare yourself, because breaking is a huge possibility.

Yes, when I was in Rabao today I saw a tarutaru run by with all pieces of sha'ir except the turban, in it's place naturally was an opo-opo crown. <3 Ael

Better check that sales history again, probably sold it to himself as an "OMG Look at me I have this I'm 1337 WTF!" flag.

Lol. SE doesn't hate brds, they just happened to have given us a ridiculously expensive/hard to get endgame piece. But if you compare the price of gear/spells for bard versus almost any other job class, bard is actually very cheap to level. We don't have to buy any really expensive gear until endgame, and even then, most of it is cheaper than armor that Dark Knights, Samurai, and Paladins have to buy at much lower levels. Forget expensive weapons; unless you're spending the gilz on +1 staves or the Monster Signa (all of which are nice but we don't need them), there aren't any. Instruments (barring a few) are rather inexpensive, even +1. Unless you're using tacos food is very inexpensive, especially after the Opo Crown. And how many mage jobs do you know that get the majority of their spells for under 10k?

Of course, SE has given us some items that are tricky/difficult to get, such as the Opo-opo crown, Minstrel's Coat, Kard, etc. But I personally count myself lucky that I don't have to worry about the REALLY expensive stuff until I'm at a level to afford it/get drops off of HNMs.

We bards are a bit of a pampered bunch ^.~ If we want to boost our CHR+60, +70, +80 (getting more that a bit excessive I know), we can do it at comparitively little expense. Other jobs (besides Ranger) are lucky to get +40 boosts on their most helpful stat, and that's wearing 10s of millions in the best equipment out there. About the only thing that has the potential to make bard really expensive is accumulating different sets of gear (for XP, MP, CHR, +skill, -enmity) and that doesn't become really desireable until endgame as well.

This looks hot. It has nice stats. We all want it. I'll be saving my gil for it. But atm, I'm just glad I don't have things like the Gluttony Sword or Haubergeon to worry about. =D

I have heard of your ls... Is it a NA ls because if it is thats really good. I heard you guys beat Vrtra awhile back hehe.
Recently our server Bismark has defeated Vrtra by a LS called Dragonslayers i think Lunarians and Archdominus teamed together to take the dragons of Van'diel down hehe.

From my knowledge he hasn't been beaten onFenrir either. It kind of is frustrating since the cloth for the other JSEs for jobs drops from BCNMs and ENMs... but the cloth for bard JSE ONLY comes from Vrtra. ;-; SE needs to even the playing field.
