so having the 2 high def on game is too low?
having 2 high eva on game and the more high when dodge, is bad?
having the power of counter no make a good tank?
mnk no pt bones and they r the main tank?
invigorate ?
mnk is the stronger job in game and the 1 who have more chances to survive.
off course in exp pt haste is bad,w/o haste ir really hard 4 the tank take hate from us.
i tank 4 a friend xalmo the savage with counter attack and i survive.
i dont try say we r the best, every job in game have he's propose.
a job can have high attack and lose def 4 items or else.is the way u wanna play
or carry 55 items and swap when need.
i tank fenrir, solo pallas, alky and long etc but my items was 4 that rdy to tank.
swap items, waste time using abilities if u c u pulling hate, and b rdy if u need help the tank.

I play as monk because i love Monk best Melee DD in the game. And yeah hitting a dmg record is fine and dandy. BUT like what was said when your in a party you are working as a team. As stuck up as your WHM may seem or is. Haste isnt always the best fro a monk. But its also the WHM's job to pay attention to the dmg you are dealin to determine if haste is ok for you if your a monk. If you dont have the the best Attack gear and your dmg isnt to great then having haste isnt always bad. But then again if your gear is top of the line and you are all pimped out then no you dont need it you make up for it in your Dmg per hit. Every monk should have there purpl, Brown, and eventually black belt and that will be fine for.

Oh and for the record

Monks can tank at lower lvls with the right gear for a few reasons.

-Ninja and Wars may not have there Utsuesmi casting timed right so they are better off just goin DD til then.

- High hp lets Monk take more hits before a cure is imparitive.

- At Higher lvls Rasetsu Gear and Nin subbed allows monk to make a desent tank with the correct party set up.

This is just from lookin around i cant say i kno from experience just from what i have read and ppl i have talked to. Ill know more for sure when i get to that point in the game.

Monks rarely need Haste. A hasted monk only serves to pull more aggro than is necessary, and usually results in either cure-bombing said monk or peeling him off the tarmac. Purple Belt is easy to obtain, but Brown and Back belts are incredibly difficult without a lot of support. Arguably, Brown Belt is soloable, but it requires killing several NMs which spawn very infrequently and are often heavily camped. Good luck with that. Black Belt is even harder, requiring rare items from HMNs including Behemoth.

Monks can tank all the way to 32, in the right party. With the exception of goblin smithy mobs, which do tear monks up farely bad, onions pose very little threat to monks with decent/good gear. When you level your monk between 20-30 in the jungle areas, get into a party with another monk and a warrior, and a whm, blm, and other support role. Thw two monks can use beetle gear if youre worried about their defense, which holds up fine against onions. you should find yourself throwing skillchains fast enough to have monk tanks be no problem. We suffered no deaths from 21-32, great exp, easy, monks can tank this far, though i havent seen them nearly as successful after 32.

I was curious about the technical aspects of this item, and this is what I have found:

- The cast time is about 7 seconds.
- The Haste effect lasts exactly 3 minutes.
- The extent of the Haste effect is a little over +11%.
- The belt must remain equipped to retain the Haste effect (I don't know if this is obvious, I liked to think I could switch belts after casting the item. Though the same thing happened with memento muffler, so I guess this applies to all enchanted items).

Why do you keep saying get the purple belt over this? Monk can't get this and no other job can wear the purple except Monk. At lvl 40, I rather see a DRK, PLD, or WAR wearing a Sword belt. Or the Warrior's belt, what ever floats thier boat...

ok yesterday i was at an AH and i checked on several items with enchantments and they did have 30 seconds left until the timer went back to its original time ie. 00.30/(24.00 so i do believe if you have or plan on getting one of the items you will have to equip the item, wait 30 seconds, then the charges(if they have been used) should refill please rate ^^

there's really no way to recharge items, except (I think) to recraft the item using what the item reverts to, ie When all the charges are used on this, it reverts to a waistbelt. Simply find someone to re-craft this item using that waistbelt.

You could also put it on the AH and then buy it for the amount you put up. You get a fully charged belt + your gil back. That's what most people do, and this is the cheapest way to do it.

I was hoping this was an old post I was responding to, but its not >.<;

To clear up any confusion, once you use a single charge on an item, you can no longer sell that item on the auction house, much less use it as a cheap way to recharge them. With one charge gone, its un-AHable (although you can still bazaar it with less than full charges).

Also, when a charged item run out of charges (0/whatever) it doesn't revert to the original, it has exactly the same stats as the original and wont have the haste (because you used all the charges), but it will still be a "Haste Belt" and you won't be able to sell it on the AH. I see this debate all over the place but this morning I decided to post my 2c here.

im not sure about all items that have an enchantment like this but i have the dream hat pluse one and it does not recharge every 24 hrs but if you look at the time it has left till it has been 24hrs it says 30 seconds so then you equip it for 30 seconds and you can use it again to get more ginger cookies so check to see if it has some time left till it changes back to the time on the other side of the / such as 24.00/24.00 and if it does see if it continues to countdown if it doesnt equip it and see if it does and if someone finds out if this is a similar case with enchantment items please post it im interested in buying a few enchanted items but i want to make sure they can be recharged first thanks sorry for the long post

In all honesty I find the comment rude and viscious to the people who play monks (ie possibly the people who responded to this part of the thread and myself). Yes we monks hit fast but there is a reason. Martial arts. Fists you might be surprised are slow weapons. so at max Monkage you are attacking as fast a 1 handed sword. Which all in all is a decent speed but not fast enough. Think about it this way. We are using natural weapons (Fists...I know HTH weapons are part in parcel for us but they just add delay, i do use knucks so don't go blasting me). Monks may accrue hate cause of the ammount of times we are hitting.

So i offer you this question for all WHM do You haste people who are ninja or have Ninja subbed? are they using two weapons? if they are then what is the difference between hasting Them and hasting a Monk?

I am sorry to rant and rave...but the comment was uncalled for and hurtful. Monks are DD and VERY and I repeat VERY light tanks (Yes I tank every so often, even after using a mithkabob). So Haste the monks and know that they can take a few hits before actually having to worry about being healed.

fool Dual Wield increases delay by adding weapon delay and dividing by a percentage dependant on the ninja level

Martial arts DECREASES delay
why does a white mage want to haste a monk and then have to cure the monk when he cant control himself, part of being good DD ISNT taking hate off the tank because you do too much damage, its also being able to control yourself to keep the hate on teh tank and also keep the mages focused where theyre attention is needed, not on some childish monk who wants to break damage records, parties are for 6 people, not for one, boost your ego on your own time, monks arent light tanks, white mages can take more hits

Damn dude you need to take a pill. I read that and I'd take it as a compliment if I were a MNK. It means they hit fast enough that they don't need to hit faster and risk taking a signifigant amount of hate. Pull your patas out of your arse.

I think MNK should get both HasteBelt and PurpleBelt. So that they don't have to rely on RDM or WHM to cast the Haste on them. Just swap the belts with macros or something. :)
