i was just passing through ans decided to take a peek for lizzy. sure enough i voke just before a group let had been waiting for hours.needless to say they were pissed.even more so when they asked if i got the boots and told em i did. oh well

well i attempted it and all I can say is all that work for nothing while im killing all rock lizards I see twice other ******** get the spawn. what makes me mad is how they just sit and wait! so wide scan on ranger u use huh?

I was in a pty of three people from my LS (32 WHM, 13WAR, and 20RDM <---me), and its funny how all of this happened to get the boots. I gave someone who i thought was a noob a pearl to our LS that day and I guess he said he had a 32 PLD and he was just making a new char. Eventually we talked about gil and stuff so he told us about these boots. We had never heard of it before, but always wondered why so many people camped at that big rock in gustaberg before that :). So we went there, split up and started camping. The WHM actually got on a choco and circled the place over and over to see if he could find it, the WAR stay behind, and I stood in front of the rock. When it spawned, the WAR voked it as soon as it did, stealing it from someone who was half a second from hitting it from a ranged attack. We killed it in like 3 seconds and got the drop. The funniest part is that we didnt even know what Leaping Lizzy was until 15 minutes before this (lol). I'm waiting for my share of the 250k (Bastok AH, Leviathan)... I'm happy with 83,333 gil :)

One of my Linkshell members is trying to tell me there is a hidden agility boost on these boots that changes with moonphase. I don't belive him and we got in a big argument about it. I've never heard anything of the sort and he refuses to prove it to me. Anyone else want back up either me or him?

/sulk so my lvl 11 monk cant wear them? (im newbie to ffxi played for 4 days at friends house) sad... would i be able to kill it anyways? and are shrapnels ok for drops?
Well these things sell for 350k on my server, so I'd YES try to get the boots if you can, ^^.
I got yesterday and camped for 30 mins, saw her, killed her, and got the boots.

This is the easiest NM to camp in my opinion all you need to have is rng/??? or ???/rng and you alrdy have an edge.

is it possible to hold a pair of winged boots and leaping boots at the same time? they are diff sorta even tho one is the 000higher end model of the other?
Of course. You can even hold multiple winged boots, because winged boots aren't Rare.
I'm gonna try camping her after level 20...again. I really want the boots now, being an elvaan ranger. Not to sell of course, but that +3 agil would help me and my Ranged Acc really well.
Well, I camped her for 3 days, with 2 kills, and 1 Lizard Tail. I found a good friend (Xeero, THF53) and she needed the boots too. We camped for about an hour before the first spawn came. Lizzy spawned right in front of Xeer, so she grabbed it, dropped boots. I lost the lot, so we stayed. About 20 minutes later, saw her again. Dropped boots AGAIN. Now I get to run around showing off my fancy boots XD

i have been hoping to get a rabbit charm and leaping boot so that i can train my thf and other melee jobs, but i never had the chance to even see one of them.
i camped spinny at lvl 13-15 but also didn't see it. but luckily met spinny when i was farming silk and got my mist silk cap at lvl 16 rdm :)
it's a good feeling to get ur own rare items, i was so happy that day i can't sleep and keep looking at my equipment. unfortunely, i can't see it on screen. ><
i wear it since then till now (lvl 31).
no offense, but i believe u can make 200k using the time u took to wait for lizzy if u are a high lvl.....
so, why not give others a chance to get their one pair of boot.....

ok here's my lizzy story. My friend was camping Lizzy with his lvl 30 WAR/ 1 RNG. She popped, he SLOWLY ran over to her, following the widescan. Another camper was closing in so my friend provoked Lizzy. He killed her, but got no drop. the guy who almost got to her, started calling my friend all types of names and such, saying that he STOLE the Lizard. Then another camper started calling him names, saying that he was in the process of shooting it. I got furious and started /tell'ing these A-Holes from Bastok, but that didn't make me feel any better. So I decided to take my 30THF/15RNG out there so none of those little pricks would have a chance. In about 45 minutes, after bickering with the locals she popped again, and to my suprise I got the boots. All of the other campers were gone, becuase they feared my uber Thiefness.^^
Generally, I am nice to all campers. When I got the boots, the one person that was there congratulated me, and I was very informative with him. Its just more fun, when everyone is cool.

I think I'm the closest to newb that i have seen get the boots. I'm level 15 rdm, no subs..only one other char, a level 4 mithra thief. So i'm pretty newb..but i got boots!

OK ^^ Yesterday I "borrowed" my brother's 30THF/15RNG and camped Leaping Lizzy. NOw, I was thinking at first this would take forever. Anyway, five (5) minutes in and Leaping Lizzy spawns. I flee over but apparently it had spawned right in front of someone. They got drop. SO I am using Widescan over and over and there Leaping Lizzy is again about thirty (30) minutes later. I use the same technique, SA + FLEE, and get to Leaping Lizzy before anyone else. I SA her in the back and killed her one hit. Got the Leaping Boots, Lizard Skin, & Lizard Tail.

Once as i was running back to Bastok from the dunes (before i had choco) it popped right in front of me. I killed it and got leaping boots then ran to town and sold them for 210k. All the people around camping it were pissed that i got it when i was just running through lol.

Same thing happened to me last night, I was just running to the dunes as lvl 15 Samurai and she just happened to spawn right in front of me as I was coming down the first hill, I provoked and killed her, but no drop. Took a little while to kill but she didnt even hit me once. I've gotten the drop twice in a row last week as my 45 DRK/THF.

Lizzy got the best of me today. I wanted to camp her for an hour to see if I could get lucky before sleep. No 30THF/RNG's were there so I felt like I had a good shot. 4 hours later no pop. Even if I missed one, which Im pretty sure I didnt cause I was heavy on the scan refresh scan, there should have been a few pops. Well I guess the other day when she popped twice in 10 minutes made up for this horror of a camp. Good luck all!
And btw all Lizzy campers are not mean! We may get annoyed from time to time though ^^ 0 for 6

NM less than half your level.
When I'm really bored one day I'm going to camp this NM, then hand out the drop to level 1 players coming out of Bastok to start playing the game just to tick off the folks who camp it over and over to sell. Get a life, go level and do something more challenging for cash, i.e. BCNM.

I totally agree... level 11 NMs should be for level ~10 players. Levels 20+ shouldn't be proud of killing a level 11.. and if you do, wear the dang things! If you don't want to wear them, you don't need them.
Aye. I camped Lizzy for a couple days, and it was amazing how few people there actually planned on wearing them. Near the end of the second day, there was a level 50+ BLM/RNG that claimed to have gotten the boots 30-some times, she was also one of the biggest jerks I met in the short time I spent camping Lizzy. I nearly gave up because of her, and other high-level people that camped purely for the gil, sitting there for hours, getting almost all the spawns. But late on the second night, Lizzy popped near me, I ran for her and cast Dia, got her! I fought her in disbelief, and when she fell:

(My name) obtains a pair of Leaping boots.
Now I am one happy Ninja. =D
But yeah, camp her if you need the boots, regardless of level (in my opinion), but please don't make this your main source of income.

Well obviously (if you check my profile) i am a some-what sort of a newmb..only lvl 20 RDM/10 THF. My linkshell had always talked about it a little bit,but never knew what they were talking about. Until now my friend has always asked me to go NM hunting,which I always said no.
Those times I didnt realize the goodness and joy you can get from the Leaping Lizzy.(Especially the money) I haven't camped her yet,but going to. If any advice..please relpy to my post. I have gathered info on this and have heard it respawns every three hours at F-8. Not sure if this information is true or not though...and does respawn and 11:00est?

dont waste your time you can only have one pair of these at once. You will eventually regret selling the boots and being greedy it does not pay off to sell these bad boys as there is way better ways of making gil. So my suggestion to you is that keep those boots and move on. You're LS should be able to tell you how to make good money. If they cant change your LS cause that is simple information that should be provided by your "brothers" in your LS. I help all of my LS members on a regular basis and together we make tons of money though a certain system that we use. Again, I recommend you keep the boots and make your gil elsewhere or you may regret ridding of the boots later.

Sure I think everyone can use a pair of these boots. But then there are people that "are" rich and don't feel like camping these boots. Hence people want to sell them. If everyone camped this and no one bought the boots they wouldn't be worth anything. and the NM would be amazingly over camped.

There is a time when Na and Japanese players are about even and both low. If you can get on durign this time then you should have the upper hand if situation is right. Hope this helps.

Ok. This is my happy story. I decided to camp this Leaping freak with my friend (we partied). I had Widescan as a level 7 RNG, and he was a level 30 WAR. He was just wandering around killing Rock lizards, while I Widescanned like crazy. After about 1 hour, I got bored and logged out. Told my friend I would log in a while...
After 2 hours...
I logged on and he was still camping it.
He was in another Party. I told him: "I would get him before you and you will see!" I was j/k didn't mean it. So, I can't solo him at level 7 RNG. Went back to Bastok, changed my main job to level 30 WHM, and SUBed level 7 RNG.
Went to camp him. Just as a went there, I see a lizard. Thought it was Rock and wanted to kill it for the lottery spawn. As I locked it, I was shocked! 'Leaping lizzy'! I had the wrong Macro set. The one for the RNG. So I failed to Dia it. Quicly changed back to my WHM set and used dia ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP!
It was red. I was shocked. Shouted out: "I GOT THE <T>!". Was wrong. Shouted again: "I GOT THE <t>!" Which was changed to: "I GOT THE Leaping Lizzy!". Everyone gathered around me including my friend and his party. Killed him.
